The first show of my life was the "Journey to the center" concert in Rio, Brazil 1975. I am the son of the man who made all the efforts to bring you here, Murillo Neri. Do you still remember him? I don't think so, but I will never, ever forget you at the stage alongside my father as the narrator of your masterpiece. That was an unforgettable moment for me and my father ( I was just 8 at the time). Thank you very very much Mr Wakeman, for all the fond memories and the wonderfull music! Cheers!
Mr Wakeman i saw you live in 1984 in lisbon...great show and later 1990 in Madrid..im a great fan of your work,my favorite Album is No eartly conection and journey to the center of the earth..you re the best.best wishes for you and your work.
Rick congratulations on this amazing albums new box set. Can’t wait to get it . I fell in love with your playing first the moment the keyboard explosion started in parallels And seeing you live for the Tormato tour in the round and then the ten true summers long anniversary shows in LA in 1977 and 1978. Love is real not fade away they say. At least DeadHeads do. You are a living musical treasure. We adore with all our hearts and are so grateful you got back together to celebrate the true majesty and potential of the musical miracles created with the core Yes bands line up as I’m sure you agree. The reunion for the Keys to ascension shows so priceless and life changing and 🙏🙏🙏🙏. the two album sets released . So hoping for vinyl box set of those r Keys to ascension I and 2 releases and dreaming of those recordings coming out on heavyweight vinyl like a vinyl audiophile box set of those shows especially now that Chris is no longer with us. :(. . Please get to Jon Rick especially now and talk about ABWH and Levin of coarse for new album snd tour. The fake yes touring with those horrible anniversary tours playing without him hurt Jon deeply as I’m sure you all ready know, . I know this because he told me personally himself, opening up to us about it. The timeless magic of ABWH and Levin :) is desperately needed in this time of suffering loss and darkness. Your music destroys darkness. Reveals light and spreads love through epic timeless music and Gods grace And with Jon at your side again. You have time to write compose orchestrate and put out a studio album then by the time you are ready to tour this plague should be under enough control to tour again. . “In the giving of my eyes to see your face” “Like the time a ran away, turned around and you where standing close to me” We both know the lord speaks to our heart individually and collectively through musical masterpieces. Let’s set sail for the heavens on the ship of ABWH music Blessings through music and kindness Larry
Thank you Mr. Wakeman. I enjoy your music for the last 45 years, seen you playing live a couple of times. Brought my teenager kid last time, blew his socks off!
I can never express how mesmerized by his playing and blending of all sounds I was back in the 70's. Had to share his recordings with whom ever I could. Loved watching this.
It’s wonderful to hear of Rick’s huge collaborations. Besides being a keyboard virtuoso of world renown, Rick breaks new ground in humour and as a raconteur. He has a generous and selective memory for what he has seen in life. He must have 9 lives like a cat after his heart attacks and pneumonia. I hope you’ve got 5 or 6 lives left, Rick!
Rick your a Legend and in my opinion the worlds greatest keyboard player,I’ve been a fan since 1971 when I was 14 years old. Hope you are in good health and please stay safe. Paul from N.Ireland. My favourite album is The Six Wives Of Henry V111 just love the inside cover showing the Mini Moog’s and RMI electronic Piano etc.
I remember you coming down HMS/M Olympus when we were in Setubal Portugal, then again when in London with your then missus Nina,,,still waiting for your cd's you promised us... Good memories
My dad introduced me to Close to the Edge at about 8y/o (55 now), I was hooked. My next obsession was Myths and Legends.... I have been a fan almost my entire life. Love your work so much Sir. Thank you.
Brother Rick, you're our family's favorite musician. Just yesterday, I asked my girls "what album should we listen to next", and they said "Rick Wakeman Live in Cuba'. Enjoyed it for the umpteenth time. 'Journey' and 'Return' are some of our delicious, musical favorites. Thank you so much for your music. I have this box on my wish list.
Rick another amazing product and project I have been following you for nearly fifty years and it has never been boring, take care of yourself and the family stay safe.
I will start this comment with a confession. Despite being a big Yes fan and admirer of Rick's work, I had never heard this album, or the original Journey, until very recently. I knew the original Journey live album had been recorded under less-than-ideal conditions, and also that it was heavily edited down, both of which had put me off it. But I recently learned about the re-recorded 2012 version of Journey, which is complete and much better sound quality, and fell in love with that. And then I found 'Return'. Which is even better. A true masterwork. And I am simultaneously gutted that I never bought it when it came out... and delighted that I get to experience it now for the first time. I always wondered why Rick didn't stay with Yes when the made The Ladder (1999) and this is perhaps part of the reason - he was busy with Return to the Centre of the Earth. And honestly I think he may have outdone his former bandmates. The sheer effort and skill that has gone into Return is mindblowing. One special highlight for me is Trevor Rabin's performance in 'Never is a Long, Long Time,' which is easily on a par with his best Yes tracks. And all around, the album is perfectly balanced - a great mix of songs and instrumentals, male and female singers, uptempo and downtempo, narration and music. Really, Patrick Stewart's voice is another instrument. The story itself is just a string of enticing imagery to add extra dimension to the music. What makes this superior to the original Journey is the fact that the songs 'go deeper'. They are no longer just telling a story of a journey, but they stand alone as songs outside of that context. They hint at this being a more psychological journey - into the centre of the mind, perhaps. It's hard not to hear in them the story of personal calamities and triumphs, of being lost and found, of being in despair and then redeemed when all seemed lost. I never thought of Rick as a lyricist, but there seems no end to his talents. It seems he nearly died following the creation of this epic, just as he nearly died bringing the first Journey to life. This appears to be the work that he pours his whole energy into. With that in mind, I would warn him not to be too hasty in trying to perform both of them in one concert! But there is never any stopping Rick Wakeman.
This was the first album I was ever exposed to. I was two or three. My mother was a concert pianist, but she was a bit of a rocker, too. So she thought that this would be the perfect influence. I'm 50 now and listen to Slayer. So you tell me if it did any good. Regardless, JTOCOTE is one of the most astounding pieces of music ever written.
This is the first album ever, I still remember listening to it when I was 5-6 years old, while playing videogames. It truly inspired my writing skills as I grew older. Thank you so much to you and to my father for made me get into Rick Wakeman's world! Cheers from Argentina.
Вас слушали многие и выросли на Вашей музыке как в СССР, так продолжают слушать и в России. Мы ценим Ваше и мастерство,и творчество. Первые концерты слушаем до сих пор, хоть и знаем их наизусть. Thank you for your music.
As a child JTTCOTE was a favorite book to which I went back many times and imagine all those incredible adventures. Later in my teens RIck's album was a constant on my record player again firing my imagination. Some sweet memories.
I love this man immensely. His keyboard work with Yes especially and his solo stuff is genius at the very least. I see that the apples don't fall too far from the tree. His sons are incredible as well. What to say about his wit and humor. Ahhh. God bless you, Mr Wakeman Tino
Journey is still a magnificent piece of music. Turned me on to synths. I asked a school mate in the 6th form common room, “what’s THAT instrument?” Turns out it was one of your mini moogs! Journey was playing. Love your music and Moog solos!!! The best. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚀
Just ordered 2, can't wait to get it. One for me and one for my brother. We saw you in Buffalo NY, years ago with the English Rock Ensemble and of course with Yes many, many times. Congratulations on a fantastic career and giving us so much enjoyment over the years. God Bless
I’m trying to learn piano, and I’m almost as old as Rick, been a fan since the seventies,Journey To the Centre of the Earth is a classic album, along with The Six Wives album,,,,,and I love his witty stories
Some good stories about an album of which I'm a big fan (more so than its predecessor, actually). I still have my original CD with its odd Dolby 3-channel surround sound. Nice to hear the story of those days. And now I know why Adam Wakeman is seen standing in for his dad on keyboards on the video of the Strawbs reunion concert in the '90's. Thanks much!
Tuve la suerte de verlo en.vivo en Córdoba Argentina...increíble recital...!!! Ojalá se repita su visita a nuestra ciudad, hoy quisiera ir con mis hijos...
I don't understand why you get so ill so often. I would think you would all the best foods made for you, or certainly you could afford that. However, please take care of yourself Rick. Too many people Love you, and we want you around a long long time!
When he was touring, the crew used to provide curries for them to eat at various times behind the stage! Not sure Rick’s diet has been as healthy as it could be! The man is class, as a musician and as a bloke. Love the man!
Went to see you @ the Crystal Palace bowl 1973/4? with an estimated 100 piece Orchestra and Choir Fantastic , C/W Sir R Burton narrating the storyline. also remember you doing 6 wife's there to . i sometimes try and play think its a part of Anne of Cleaves on the mellotron ,and sort of get it right after an hour. Keep up the good work Rick, and good health
I have seen you perform the Return to the Journey of the Earth at the Quebec music festival in 2006.It was one of the best shows that I have ever seen.
Saw this album performed at the Crystal Palace Bowl (c/w blow up monsters), Procol Harem, Wally (great band) & Leo Sayers were supporting acts - good day but spoilt by lack of toilet facilities - can’t have it all...!
Saw the Crystal Palace gig and nearly ended up in the pond along with the dragon! Good to see in fine form Rick; I can tell the see food diet isn’t working (or you’re swathed in several layers! ) Cheers mate !!
Mr. Wakeman- If you please, would you mind doing a video tour of your home studio? Maybe as a bonus, talk about how you might go about getting your creative process going. Thank you!
Looks a wonderful boxed set. I'll have to wait a week or two to see for myself as I've just bought it from your store. Hoping we'll get to see you again live, as we enjoyed the Christmas show at Cheltenham so much. Kidest regards, Dave and Jan Weaver
A magnificent music adventure, coming from the unique mind of the most talented musician of the prof era. Thanks, Rick, for the gift of your incredible music. Greetings from a diehard fan from Venezuela
Wow, Justin Hayward ! Ozzie Osbourne? Sounds like a concept album on the scale of War Of The Worlds, I can't wait to hear it and didn't even know it existed until now, loved Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and have the record. Go on a diet Rick, do some exercise, you can get thin again, just eat less and work out. What a great story about Patrick Stewart. The artwork is just so fantastic, so in keeping with the ancient futuristic theme. Loved stating at my Yes album covers or reading lyrics inserts and this looks like you can do the same, is that blow up monsters or monsters that blow up ?

I bought the CD when it came out. Agrees, this is a fantastic projects with great artists that I normally dont listen to but just fits in perfectly. It should actually be great with a collaborate project between you and Ozzy, maybe doing the King Arthur(my favourite). Tony Iommi on guitar of course. Well, its easy to sit here and suggest 100 of ideas and have no obligation to succed them, hahaha. Anyway, if you where to play King Arthur one time more in the future sign Ozzy to do some of the vocals. Ok. I'll shut up. Thanks for this great album, its excellent of course.
Love you stuff Rick! Mitsubishi Pro-Digi, never thought I would here that be brought up again. Apparently had amazing A/D converts. I think these came around the same time as Sony/Studer DASH recorders, somebody will probably correct me ;)

This was one of the first vynils I bought as a teenager, back in 1975 in Chile. A&M Chilean edition. I still have it.
Yay Blow Up Monsters! Now that would be magical! Please get the live show recorded too!

Bought it, arrived last week. Can confirm it is a glorious box set.
Rick another amazing product and project I have been following you for nearly fifty years and it has never been boring, take care of yourself and the family stay safe.
MY parents were hard core music lovers and I inherited their music collection and they had all of Rick's albums.

Ordered in November - thank you for the update. I'm looking forward to it.

Love your music. Find it relaxing and it always cheers me up. Dad (mike Ramsden) said hi he’s been trying to call you lol
It may have been painfully difficult to record, but the result sounds absolutely great!
Brilliant!
Love you stuff Rick! Mitsubishi Pro-Digi, never thought I would here that be brought up again. Apparently had amazing A/D converts. I think these came around the same time as Sony/Studer DASH recorders, somebody will probably correct me ;)
You are the best man
9:35 "Ummm, just to show... I told you I was ill." (holds up picture of Tony Banks) "My god, I was ill."
Fascinating as ever loved hearing the history of everything new Ozzy wouldn't be the one to block the single. Please try and make this happen.
That box rocks, but I'm still waiting for a DVD or Blu-Ray with the Journey-Performance in 2014 at the Royal Albert Hall.
A masterpiece. [The original].
