I'm 67 and it brings back my rebelliousness and I only listen to all the music 60's to 90's from the rock era's- I guess it's what you grow up with thru your life.
The gal at 4:06 has watery eyes, trying to hold back the tears. This song will always resonate with me because I was born in '79. It’s beautiful when music does that to you isn’t it? There’s a couple John Mayer songs that get me a little dusty around they’re because they resonate with me so well. It’s always a joy to witness.
This song, How to disappear completely by Radiohead, Friend of a Friend by Foo Fighters and It's Called: Freefall by Rainbow Kitten are the songs that have made me genuinely tear up.
My thinking exactly. I never had the privilege to see them live but if I ever got a chance to see the original lineup...holy shit. Yes, I'm a 41 year old male and the waterworks will be flowing.
No they didn’t sing because nobody knows the words the words to this rambling mumbling “song” the beat is way more recognizable than this clowns voice and excuse for lyrics
Man I love how emphasized the synth is in the Chorus in their live performances. Can barely hear it in the studio recording but it really brightens up the song that much more. Awesome!
Still very talented, emotionin and cool as they were, now Corgan is 56 but still rocks. Rough and blues voice they play in a fantastic way as always. Great band and energic song
Their song have something that what most modern pop songs don't have. It is quite hard to put a finger on it, but you can tell these songs were written by a single person, and his idea of the song only, not some 10 different popular producers making sure the song is catchy and trendy enough to survive the chart for 3 days. These songs have color, their own message, and more than anything, timeless. Wish more songs these days had indivuality and personality as these pre 2000s bands used to have. Only few bands are active in 2020s and keeping this going, and it is such a shame. It is one thing for a band to have a contract with a major label, and one thing for the label to control every aspect of the album which is the case of 2020 music.

Pains me to see him pander to the audience. This is one of the great songs - it should have been sung from the first word by everyone there in the crowd. How can we let these amazing people feel as though they still have to lead us - we should be leading them.
@@ethanium9280 Yeah. She got plastic surgery, and did heroin and meth. She got arrested for driving drunk too. She has gotten far past that, and has started talking to William Corgan again. She is doing much better now, and has a relatively steady life. It's a shame though. She was asked to come and play at this tour, but Corgan had to make some deal that upset her.
Yeah It is so heartbreaking.. I just saw Darchy pics, she did plastic surgery and make her lips like doll..(so sad..) I saw her video way back at 90's.. she was a normal pretty blondy bass player who adored by all fans.. hope she doing fine and have a better life.. Missed her

Even though I’m 59, this song totally captures the rebelliousness of my youth in the 1970s. That feeling of being young, reckless and FREE.

for me the audience didn't sing because it cried and it was with puffy eyes thinking about the good times and this song
This was true for me
Yes - too many emotions for the audience...When We were Young xx
yeah you can see some singing but its not showing in the mic.

The mix is pretty bad. Maybe that is why the voice sounds so out of place and disconnected from the music.
It's because he was playing 3.5 hour shows all tour

Shakedown 1979
Cool kids never have the time
On a live wire right up off the street
You and I should meet
June bug skipping like a stone
With the headlights pointed at the dawn
We were sure we'd never see an end to it all
And I don't even care
To shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed
Into the earth below
Double-cross the vacant and the bored
They're not sure just what we have in store
Morphine city slippin' dues
Down to see
That we don't even care
As restless as we are
We feel the pull
In the land of a thousand guilts
And poured cement
Lamented and assured
To the lights and towns below
Faster than the speed of sound
Faster than we thought we'd go
Beneath the sound of hope
Justine never knew the rules
Hung down with the freaks and ghouls
No apologies ever need be made
I know you better than you fake it
To see
That we don't even care
To shake these zipper blues
And we don't know
Just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed
Into the earth below
The street heats the urgency of now
As you see there's no one around
Honestly, the lead singer’s voice aged really well in my opinion:)
Grazie Billy!!!
I really like this song. Time files.
It's funny. On this very day in New York there was a My Bloody Valentine concert almost right across the street
We don't even care to shake these zipper blues
And we don't know just where our bones will rest
To dust I guess
Forgotten and absorbed into the earth below,
The street heats the urgency of now
As you can see there's no one around.
