As older computer systems become increasingly rare, so do the opportunities to play their games authentically. Our team explains how we're presenting Karateka as accurately as possible while detailing of the modern enhancements we're adding and our efforts to rescue some unfinished games that might otherwise never be played again. Some of the details we're sweating might surprise you!
The Making of Karateka explores the creation of Jordan Mechner's 1984 masterpiece in great detail while also offering an exclusive new remastered edition, ported from the Apple II original. For more information on the Gold Master Series and Digital Eclipse, visit www.digitaleclipse.com.

After "Atari 50", I'll pretty much buy any retro projects you guys do. Even if that wasn't the case, this looks amazing. "Karateka" was a big part of my gaming youth - there was so much mystique around it, e.g. schoolyard talk about when to bow. The remake looks sweet and "Deathbounce" feels like something we should never have been denied :-)

Unbelievable work!!! This is shaping up to be one of my favorite media experiences ever!? 😍
I only wish there were a proper CRT shader - though of course, that tech isn't quite there yet for resource-pressed systems like the Switch…

Will there be any version of the hd remake from 2012? I miss that version, I loved the rhythmic gameplay and score.
