Hey Joey! Awww Lexx is such a sweet kid with such a great personality! I’m so happy you had him and Tim on! I can’t wait to try these pizza ideas!! Thank you so much!! I’m very inspired! 🤗🤗🤗🥰🎉
Just so we are clear Mary, I am always wanting them to be on the show. But, since Tim has a real job (I am a Realtor and Substitute Teacher) and since Lexx is much to old (14) to be seen hanging around his old dude parents, I am often on my own during the episodes. HA! Now that school is almost out, Lexx will be joining me more. I do a lot of videos on his gaming channel so we do those together usually. Here is a link to a video we did last week on Lexx's channel. I like doing videos with him because I don't have to cook anything, we just play games. Fun. th-cam.com/video/aDqG7iyjrkA/w-d-xo.html
@@PlantBasedDads aww you guys make a beautiful family and I understand everyone’s life gets crazy! I’m looking forward to more of your videos! Hello friends. Thanks so much for watching our 10 Tips for Better Homemade Pizza video. Pizza night at our home is always a lot of fun and its a family event. You can make amazing looking pizza just by following our 10 simple tips. There are links below the video for the equipment we are using in the video if you want to purchase those on your own. Please leave you comments below on how pizza night looks at your house. If you make any pizza from this video, make sure to send me the photos on instagram @plantbaseddads and ill put the photos on a future video. Cheers - Joey
I made my own dough with whole wheat and water/ little salt. Then cooked it on the grill no oil. Flipped it and then added toppings OMG so good. Thanks for your recipe.
Cooking it on the grill is next level stuff!! That is awesome. The grill gets it much hotter than the oven so its a prefect place for pizza. Did you use your pizza stone on the grill?
Ha Ha - just re-watched this video. Tim spilled sauce on the counter and onto the pizza peel. Too funny. And then as you kept saying, "don't overload your pizza, not too many toppings", Tim just cleaned off all the plates and emptied all the bowls. I forgot how funny this video was. But man those pizzas look delicious - especially the homemade dough!!!
I lived in Hawaii for 4 years. My family LOVES pineapple on pizza! We like our tomatoes roasted instead of cold. I think my pizza would look a lot like Tim's LOL Thanks for sharing.
Awesome pizza choices guys one thing I definitely 100% agree with you I always put way too many toppings on my pizza And it’s almost impossible to slide it off onto the pizza stone even though I have floured the slide. I like your choices of broccoli and corn on your first pizza and then mushrooms is definitely always a favorite of mine I’m so glad you talked about the sauces in the doughs because they are definitely all not equal great tips. Show is perfect for the kids
You are all so engaging! Loved this video with the 3 of you. That's a cool tip abut not rolling the dough out, they all look soo good and it's so true that pizza doesn't really need cheese. When I was in Cyprus they did a ton of pizzas that were authentically cheese-free 💚
Wow - pizzas looked yummy. 550 degree oven for an hour - Whooo--weeee! That's a long preheat time. Okay, I'll definitely try your homemade pizza soon. I have to be very cautious around "bread" of any kind. Bread is my achilles heel. If it's in the house - can't (won't) stop eating it until it's all gone. Definitely will halt any weight loss, when I'm in that mode. Tim's a natural on screen. I've got to check out his 'Baking with Tim'. And Lexx is so full of energy - what a card! Great video guys! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching. Yeah, if you notice in the bread video, when you watch that video, Tim makes a loaf of fresh sourdough bread and says "We could use this all week for sandwiches" and I say "or we could just eat it all right here" and I was serious. Yeah, we cant make bread often because its my Achilles heel also. The reason for the preheat for an hour is to make sure the pizza stone is heated all the way through. It works!
Oh and our pizza consists of a homemade based simple flour water salt and yeast. Homemade oregano and tomato base with a topping of red onion mushrooms basil and vegan cheese with a few jalapeños 😜👌🏽
Trader Joe's has a great Whole Wheat Pita (clean...no oil) that serves very nicely as a pizza dough. Comes in a variety of sizes...so think "personal pan pizza"
Hi Judi. I just discovered those about a month ago. I have been eating them with Hummus. They are really clean and I like that they are pocket pitas. We need to do another pizza video. When we do, we will include quick ways to make pizza with pita breads for sure. Thanks so much for watching.
Wow! Your son has grown up and really handsome, he is like my kids. They dont eat their brocoli on their plate but when i cut them they all over me and eating them raw . Thanks for sharing the recipe.👏🏻👏🏻
Helene, yes what is with that? I swear kids' tastes buds and what they like and don't like changes by the hour. It is impossible to keep up with it. Thanks for watching.
I love a homemade crust, and certainly you must put pineapple on the pizza. I even liked pineapple on the pizza before I was plant-based. You pizza looked terrific, and you guys always make me hungry! Thank you for the video.
We could not make decent homemade pizza at all until we were confined to the house during the beginning of COVID. During that time, we really perfected our pizza game and now its just amazing. And YES, pineapple does belong on pizza just like you said. I used to love it on BBQ chicken pizzas over 15 years ago. Now I still enjoy it but without the chicken. Still so good. Thanks so much for commenting.
OMG. Pizza night is definitely coming to my house! I just cannot handle anything with yeast so that I will have to buy dough, but still, homemade will be so much healthier!!
oooh sauteed tomatoes? Whaaat never tried that before. Broccoli is great on pizza it's so vibrant. I have never put corn on pizza...hahaha Lexx threw it on the floor..hope you have a dog or a cat to take care of that. Yes pineapples belong on pizza. The crust does look fluffy and airy. Typical kid just eating a cheese pizza, that's how my son rolls too and he's not even vegan! I'm glad he skips the pepperoni at least. Such a fun family dinner. In our house we also each get our own pizza, as well as nacho tray...Tell Tim there is NO such thing as too much garlic, I'm with ya! Way to go Tim for making the fluffy sourdough crust, all looks amazing!
Lori, we don't have a dog or cat, Daddy J has to clean it all up!! Lexx isn't vegan either but that all he really gets at home so he has adapted really well. The sourdough crust and bread is really amazing.
@@PlantBasedDads Eeks! Well get a dog or cat so the floor's always clean! lmao kidding then you'd have slobber floors with paw prints all over (like we have). Well it's so awesome that Lexx is very adaptable like that :)
You realize Lexx is going to be taller than both of you guys right! I swear he's grown a foot since I started watching your channel!! n't wait to try the pizza!!!!
Home made pizza night sounds like a blast! I heard you mention air fried corn and that sounds delicious. I bought an air frier by Cosori and tried the vinegar lemon combo to help with smell and aftertaste. I did this several times at 400 for 10 min and it did greatly improve after 4 times but am still experiencing some aftertaste and smell. Did you go through any of this with your air frier? Does it leave out an odor and slight taste on the food? Do you have any suggestions? You guys are amazing! You always share great recipes and have helpful hints and tips. Thank you for another delicious video! I can’t wait for one of those pizzas!
Hello. Wow, I have not heard anything about a smell with the air fryer. We use it weekly and it never leaves any type of after taste or smell. That shouldn't happen. Now you really have my wondering what it could be. Have you heard of anyone else dealing with this? We use the Philips brand. We have had it for about 3 years at this point. - Joey
Ohhhh I love a good pizza night! I have started cooking my pizzas on the BBQ. Have you ever done that? It gives it such a nice char. Once I started making my own pizza crusts from scratch, I never went back to pre-made/store-bought. Thanks for all the tips, they were very helpful :)
So, I know people are doing that on the BBQ and we have a really nice BBQ grill that we purchased years ago and don't use. I have thought about doing that. We need to look into it. Maybe you need to do a "How to grill my pizza on the BBQ like a boss!" video. :)
@@PlantBasedDads Oh I definitely want to! Right now our new BBQ is still in a box, waiting to be put together once we have our new deck built. Hopefully I can get that going in the next couple of months :)

Ok, so when I was editing, I saw Lexx throw that corn on the floor and I was sooooo mad!! Like the garbage can is 4 feet from him. Really? Boys are sooooo lazy! Tim's crust really was the winner of the two different crusts. Ok, so we had a great vacation isolated in the woods in NC in a cabin. We loved it.
