I am from Odisha (a state in India) not directly connected to Bangladesh, but very close via sea. My grandfather had retired from the Indian army in 1960s. At that time, many people used to come from Bangladesh as refugees by boats. They were mostly either Hindus or Shia muslims. My grandfather and his army mates had set up a refugee camp for them, and they used to feed them, take care of their medical treatment, education of kids, etc. Suddenly by 1969-70, a lot more refugees began to come, and this time Sunni Muslims started coming too. It reached it's absolute peak in early 1971. There were too many people to take care of, and my grandfather's group wasn't able to arrange supplies, so they asked the Odisha state government for help. Odisha govt told them that many more people are coming and we will give you everything, you just have to manage the whole camp and learn to speak Bangla. Everyday, many people were being pulled from boats in the Bay of Bengal. Most of them were hungry and very thin. Some of them used to attack the Odia fishermen who would rescue them, out of sheer hunger. Many of them were women who would jump into the boats, not knowing how to steer or sail, and they would be drifting at sea until some fishermen would find them, if they were very lucky. God knows how many of them just drifted away in the sea forever.
Some of the stories that they told were so painful to hear, that my dad starts weeping even today when he remembers them. Every one had some kind of medical problem or injury. Some of them had missing body parts. The lesser I talk about the condition of women (and children), better it will be because otherwise youtube will block this comment. Girls as young as 12 were with-child. It was scary. My dad was a small boy back then, and he used to help my grandfather in the camp. He made a lot of Bangladeshi friends. Eventually, after things got better, some of them went back to Bangladesh, some took Indian citizenship and some went abroad. The camp was finally shut down in 2002.
Even today my dad is friends with some of the kids that were in the camp. He has visited Bangladesh 3 times, and it makes him very happy to see Bangladesh succeed. That is why I always say, no matter what happens, India will always have a soft spot for Bangladesh. I have not seen the story of Bangladesh with my own eyes, but my father has, and I have the same sentiment. I will always have a soft spot for Bangladesh.

My grandfather was a civil servant during the liberation war. When reminiscing about his time during and leading upto the war, he would always say it was inevitable, not because of us Bangalis, but because of the Pakistanis. Every time a West Pakistani would say something about East Pakistan, they'd say, - 'Your country' this and that. Never 'My country' and never 'Our country'. They never saw us and our country as their own. That's why we never became their own.

Your statement is more about negligence by the West Pakistanis. But the root of problem remains in the fact that, you chose Punjabi Muslims & Jinnah as your masters, when you could have pushed for independence in 1947. The surprising fact is that, after laying so many lives for Independence from the Britishers, and leading Independence struggle in all respects, all leaders from Bengal vanished in thin air, and started looking as hopefuls towards Jinnah & Gandhi. Both of them were not interested in Bengal, except for sqeezing them as Britishers in 1942. Bengal in fact was storage and backup during emergencies and nothing else for the Britishers. You must be always indebted towards "God sent" Sheikh Mujib, for successfully fighting and gaining Independence.

    • @alihasanabdullah7586
      @alihasanabdullah7586 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Truthnvision Hindsight is 20/20. Would we have known how our union with West Pakistan would go, of course we'd choose otherwise. But there's no point bemoaning this lapse in judgement now. There was real hope back then that our Islamic ties will bind stronger than our cultural differences. We could have been trapped in an oppressive regime in many other ways. A united Bengal with East and West bengal together (Which some see as an alternative option) could have similarly broken down because of religious differences. A united Indian subcontinent could have been a long and grueling oppression of the Hindu majority. The alternate histories are endless, and there's no way for any of us to know how the future will go.
As it stands, the only way one *should* look is forward.

If so, how can you make this statement saying, 'Bangladeshi people personally love Pakistani people'? If you love them, it certainly means you love the people who killed our forefathers, who raped our mothers and sisters. You are basically shitting on the face of the people who have fought and sacrificed their life to get us freedom, independence, dignity, and most importantly our own language. From the inception of Pakistan, Bengalis of East Pakistan had faced discrimination. Islam teaches the equality among all human beings as well as fraternity and sorority among all Muslims. We, Bengalis, despite being the majority of the population of Pakistan as well as despite being a Muslim majority, were neither being treated as brothers/sisters nor being treated as equal. West Pakistan used to look down upon Bengalis because of our darker skin tone. Bengalis were NOT given equal opportunity to good education and respectable jobs, despite having intelligence and talents. Furthermore, resources of East Pakistan were being used for the development of West Pakistan and our people used to starve. On 1970, a cyclone hit in the coastal areas of East Pakistan, causing a lot of casualties. Pakistan Government didn’t bother. That’s the time we’ve realized that we need a leader from our own community. In the beginning of 1971, there was an election and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman won the maximum votes. West Pakistan couldn’t digest the fact that a Bengali (someone from an inferior race) would rule them. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was arrested, but was released later. On that moment, the whole Bengali nation felt the need of becoming an independent nation. So the war began. From the night of March 25, 1971, Yahya Khan and Tikka Khan pounced upon unarmed Bengalis in the name of “Operation Searchlight” and started killing our innocent people as well as picking up our women for rape. During those days, Pakistan Army proudly declared in the newspaper, “We will leave a nation of bastards and idiots.” About three million (3,000,000) Bengalis were being killed mercilessly (including our bright professionals) and two lakh (200,000) Bengali women were being raped repeatedly in the concentration camp by Pakistan Army and their local collaborators (Razakars). Women, who were being raped, got pregnant. Many women terminated their pregnancy. Those who couldn’t, delivered babies and abandoned them. These abandoned kids were given away for the adoption. Most of those babies were adopted by foreigners and were taken away to foreign countries. Others were adopted by our local people.

The separation of East Pakistan from Pakistan resulted from the imposition of Urdu as the national language. It is surprising to observe that individuals from non-Urdu speaking regions of Pakistan, such as Sindh, have embraced Urdu as their native language. This raises the question of whether Punjabi, Balochi, and Sindhi share more similarities with Urdu than with Bengali.
I would like to kindly request a gentle and informative response to this inquiry, as it is not intended to offend or make any assumptions.

it is the lingua de franca yes, but urdu/farsi has been part of the region that is now pakistan for centuries, so it was a smoother switch for pakistan. Plus urdu has alot of similarities to the local languages punjabi and sindhi. Pashtun people are known for being versatile with languages, the average pashtun already speaks 3-4 languages (urdu, dari, farsi, pashto, some even punjabi, balochi, tajik, english), many kashmiris also speak punjabi so urdu isnt far off, so it was in general an easier switch for pakistan than it would have been for bangladesh

There were indigenous local industries and skilled people. And that's why after opening up the economy india became an economic powerhouse.
Pakistan never developed it's industries and professional ability, except for armed forces, spy games, mercenary activities. Because it received free money for exactly those activities from the west.

Unfortunately still people of Pakistan think that they lost half of the country in1971.Basically Pakistan lost his colonial part in 1971 that was East bengal. so east bengal was never a part of pakistan but a colony of pakistan .when you never respect someone or any specific area as equally. Claiming that colony as a own part then it does not make any sense or make any change The actual relation between Pakistan and East Bengal was like owner and slaves ,Boss and Servants. Pakistan & people of pakistan treated Bengal and bengali people as 3rd class people & burden of pakistan from the first day. People of pakistan loved to use some racist word against bengali people like Kala Bengali and Bukha Bengali. Even after 1971 still today people of pakistan love to use some word like ""daw take ki aurat"" to devalue the currency of Bangladesh. But now that two taka equal to almost 6 pakistani rupee. so pakistan did not lost his half of a country but lost his colony in 1971. its a harsh reality of the history. people of pakistan should not claim that lost half of the country in 1971 and should stop claiming that it was a part because it does not make any sense or any change. that's why pakistan has never take a lesson from 1971 because it was not part of pakistan . its a real fact that state like pakistan never take a lesson from colony. If the Grass look greener on the other side, Stop staring, Stop comparing ,Stop complaining, and Start watering the grass you are standing on

Bhai Indian football is very much on the Rise
Today our Fifa rankings Is 101
Also Our Football history is considered the Golden period
    1950-1962
Indian football was considered The " Brazil of Asia"
We played the 4-2-4 formation way before Brazil Popularised the free flow and samba if football
India has the oldest football club in Asia formed in 1892 called " Mohun bagan "
They defeated the east Yorkshire regiment which Gave uprising for Independence
It is known as Immortal eleven
Also The FIFA president at that time said that We are the best in Asia
And that we were almost on par With
    European countries
We won Asian games twice and finished fourth in Olympics
We even qualified for World Cup in 1950 , after few teams withdrew
But never went which still today is our greatest mistake
    We had different priorities
Also we played barefoot just to note
We made Hungary ( the best Team at that point )
And made them Pull our indian players shirt
    They were so tired 🔥🔥
Right now after inaugration of ISL in 2014
Indian football is on a slow Rise
We qualified for Asia Cup in 2011 ,2019 and 2024
    🙏🙏🙏
    Hope ❤️❤️

My siblings and I are 1st Gen Bangladeshi citizens. Papa is colonial, mom is Pak Bengal born. I leave my comment because of reasons below-
    1. The guest spoke so eloquently on this TH-cam [1 of it’s 3 developers’ father is Bangladeshi-born btw] suggested episode that kept my attention.
    2. I’m glad that I listened through the part where he covered his experience because I never had a Pakistani-born speak of the disintegration with such healthy attitude.
4:52- I am so glad man mentioned Germany. If German civilians had the slightest clue their neighbors were burnt alive because of their faith, highly-assertive Hitler would not have had the luxury to operate.
6:57 - 2x I got unnecessarily aggressive comments from a bi-racial and a Pak-born peer [“Tum log humare zameen per reh raho ho”] just as I mentioned my area of origin that I never needed any further understanding of what extent one might go to defend self-identity.
9:59 - Mrs. Hasina Wajed’s husband headed the Nuclear Commission of Pakistan in the 60’s, if I am correct to my information. Ever heard of the man is dead/alive? Nobody does! All thanks to her good relationship with Mr. Modi now, woman dared to not allow Bangladeshi citizens get to voting polls during Dec, 2019’s election. Is she a European or W. Pakistani in Bangladeshi lead now?
10:05 - I thought it was a positive gesture from Gen. Mosharrof to write a note of apology in the guest entry at Savar national monument during the first Pakistani Presidential visit since splitting up.
10:55 - Now this, I call wealth. One who’s worth is not diminished by acknowledging a wrongful act. Man was a 10 year old himself!
13:26 - Not submitting to one’s needs/not risking good relationships because of someone else is an unfortunate trait among the Sapiens. I never understood what a class valedictorian of Dehradun would have against a Bengalis! Frontline soldiers generally come from working faction. Lesser the financial solvency goes, higher the degree of nationalism is. It was the frontline soldiers who went rogue on March 25, 1971, and their General never reprimanded them how none of the Western officers ever jeopardized their relationships with their subordinates over generating the bi-racial bloodline resulting from the sex-tents in Afghan region over 2 long decades.
16:20 - My elementary education was at an institution named after a civil war martyr. Believe me when I say that seeing his baby face etched on the grounds EVERYday still keeps the anti-Pakistani spirit alive at Dhaka Cantonment, but never wondered why the electoral victor never bothered setting foot in the capital town. Man did get pretty dominant over keeping national affairs restricted to central Gov’t that finally triggered his assassination.
17:17 - The bread earner was one among the 5% of the বাঙালী participants of Pakistani defense forces. Till date, I have 0 clue how was that civil war of 1971 was survived. ALL I ever got from him was, “They laughed at my struggle with the temperature.”
22:04 - Mass loss of skilled male lives during wars all over the globe demanded female participation in raising respective national GDP. If female participation in Pakistan is not as large as Bangladesh, is it not an evidence that the scale of atrocities has not been exaggerated?
    💛
