  • I Finally got my new car after a 3 month wait! In this video we will take a tour of the new car which my viewers have been guessing what it is as part of a reveal contest.
    I am super happy with my new car purchase! First we will do some basic customizations to the new car to make it even better.
    Then I'll do the first break in oil change at around 1000 miles.
    Then I'll show you some things that are not great with it.
    And last we'll take it for a quick test drive. Throughout the video I will share with the reasons why I got this car and not others. Hope you like it!
    Special thanks to Jesse from JJs Automotive for tinting the car :

    You mentioned back pain. One of the best things I ever did for my back pain was learning about inflamation and cutting back on the foods that cause it like sugar and processed meats. I think a lot of people wrongly believe they have arthtitis when what is really causing their joint pain is bad diet. And of course exercise helps too. Stenghthening up your core muscles relieves pressure on joints, and exercising purges muscles and joints of toxins. Congratulations on the new car.

      I have wicked joint pain. You are right that food does cause inflammation! Many diseases are simply too much inflammation.

      Food only causes pain when you eat too much and are overweight. Chemically, there is nothing in the food causing joint pain. Toxins are not stored in joints and muscles. They constantly leave your body by normal cell functions or else you get real sick really fast and you will have bodily functions that get rid of them. Stop the Readers Digest science

    I must be the one person who appreciates old school prop rods. They never fail and never need replaced. Works just fine.

    • @dlg5485
      @dlg5485 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Actually, they do fail. I've had it happen twice, most recently on my 2017 Suabru Impreza. The bracket that connects the rod to the cross member at the bottom broke clean thru. This time, I'm upgrading to a strut type prop.

    A lot of people like to poke fun and look down on people that drive camrys but the camry is one of the best selling cars in America for a reason. Its reliable, spacious, comfortable, and fuel efficient. Its a very practical car. With these camry hybrids theyre even more fuel efficient and the interior/infotainment system of this XSE trim is decent. The exterior design is decent as well. Can't ever go wrong with the camry!

    I totally agree with you about the red interior. In 2018 when I was searching for a new Camry, I knew exactly what I wanted, a Peral-ized white XSE V-6 Moonroof, all the bells and whistles, and red interior. Well, I kept watching our local Toyota dealership website, and one finally showed up that had everything I wanted, except it had the black interior. I went to the dealership, test drove the car, and fell in love; although I really wanted the red interior, I bought it anyway. About a month after I bought the car, I was walking through a parking lot, and there was a new Camry just like mine, but, this one had the red interior, and to me, it stuck out like a sore thumb.
    In photos, the red interior looked good, in person, it was too overwhelming; I'm glad that mine has the black interior; it's over three years old now, and it's still the best car that I have ever owned, and that would be from a large list of cars dating back to the mid 70's..
    One more thing, at first I also wanted the black roof, mine didn't come with it; I felt the tape line on another Camry and I noticed the sharp edge like you had mentioned; the dealership told me that they could paint the roof black for me; I told them no...

    Merry Christmas, Mr and Mrs Car Care Nut, and congrats on the new Camry!
    I was nitpicking about our used 2009 Venza having some unevenness at the intersection of the metal and plastic panels near the headlights, but now that you showed a brand new Camry with similar irregularities, maybe I can relax a little! Those details do bug me every time I see them.
    As for the hood prop, I actually like it because it's simple and mechanical and shouldn't ever need replacement nor cause worries about it falling on your head, but I get that it can be in the way sometimes. Good to know you can retro-fit the shocks, and glad you got it to be the way you like! Enjoy the new car! (and don't forget the e-brake ;) I'm surprised if it doesn't automatically deactivate)

    I love those new hood struts to replace the prop rod - and that you took care to include all the part numbers. I appreciate that you recognize the value of changing the "break-in" oil at 1,000 miles, to remove any unwanted metallic particles (a LOT of people have been convinced there is absolutely no longer a need for a break-in period). I guess we'll have to accept some gasoline leaking into the crankcase oil from now on. Have fun with your factory-fresh and pretty Camry! 'Wing installation on the rear deck coming next?

    From someone who also lives in the RUST-BELT, do yourself a favor and get your car undercoated with WOOLWAX, it is the very best type of undercoating available right now. You have to get it re-applied every year because it stays in a soft semi-liquid form and thus gets washed off a bit from the water spray in some areas, but it stops 95% of the rust on a car (not 100%, but almost).

  • @MylesV
    @MylesV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Congrats on the new car, the hood strut situation has bothered me with my Prius Prime so I'm curious about adding hood struts like you did. I'll have to see if they're available for my car at some point.
    I also have a Wireless Carplay adapter and it has been excellent, it seemed pricey for what it does but it was money well spent. I have the Comma 3 and haven't been that impressed, it works well on the highway but it is not much of an improvement over TSS 2.0 IMO plus I seem to get errors pretty frequently. Stop and go driving is awful, the stock adaptive cruise control is a lot smoother.

    Congratulations on the new addition to the family. I changed out from a 2016 Prius IV to a RAV4 Prime SE. I’m still adjusting to all the differences between the two, mostly missing the Prius tech dash display. Very curious to hear how you like your wireless CarPlay adapter. Looking to do that upgrade too. I’m currently working on my first ever self installation aftermarket modification…LED Cargo Door lights. Just need to fish the wire through the rubber gasket hose from the body to the hatch & I’m done. This is the first car I’ve owned where I felt I needed to do upgrades (apart from film protection and window tint) to be comfortable in my car.

    I’m hoping to get an 8th Gen Camry myself. Probably the XSE V6 or the TRD V6 since I really want the V6 engine. That’s if I get a Camry before a newer gen hits the road since I’m a college student prepping to move out next year. So yeah I have a good ways to go if I ever want to get this Camry. Great video. Looking forward to the day I get a newer car. For now I’ll keep my 2001 Maxima in good shape since I actually like it as well and would love to keep it even when I get a Camry since it’s my first car.

    Congrats on the new car! I’m a Toyota mechanic as well. I remember doing PDI on a black on black AWD Camry and wanting one myself. As for factory defects, do you notice inconsistent door gaps on RAV4s? I noticed it while doing PDIs. But because these cars get pushed out fast it’s hard to avoid defects on new cars. I bought a new VW Golf years ago and the drivers door edge wasn’t painted properly which was re-sprayed under warranty.

    Nice Camry! I like your oil change after break in, I do the same. As much as I like Toyota cars (currently have a Corolla to go with my Tacoma), my aging body finds it more and more difficult to get in and out of those low body cars. So, I am planning on replacing the Corolla with a taller vehicle, maybe a Corolla Cross or RAV4.

    Nice car! From one OCD’er to another. Thank you for going over the little things on the new car. I saw some things on my new ‘22 WRX for fitment. You’re right it will still be there 5yrs from now but won’t affect performance. Also, let’s be honest that a majority will say “I don’t see anything wrong”. How much does it cost? Does it prevent scratches?

    • @davedave2109
      @davedave2109 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naveenthemachine I have the expel kit on the front of my Venza. I'm in Canada. To cover the entire front was about $800. I would spend it again in a second. No scratches bugs come off easier overall, although expensive well worth the cost if you plan to keep the vehicle

    • @joeotto775
      @joeotto775 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @naveenthemachine I live in Ontario and it cost me around 800 to have my hood, front fenders, mirrors and roof (small strip between sunroof and windshield) done on my 2020 xse camry at a toyota/Lexus dealer. It will definitely preserve the paint and protect from scratches but more importantly stone chips. Stone chips are actually so bad because a rock literally hits your car so hard it can remove paint right down to the metal then instantly rust! 3m clear film on the front end is a great way to avoid any damage. Also you can't see it unless you're looking for it unlike those dorky bug deflectors. Hope this helps!

    • @mattb9664
      @mattb9664 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The precut front end kits are about $300 for the 'best' level, and $250 for the 'better' level. I also installed the front roof and a-pillars kit. It's superior at prevent scratches and rock chips. I installed 1-2 pieces after work each day for a week until it was done..I'd give myself a 95% on the install quality while avoiding particles and bubbles. The only con I can think of is that it's a maintenance wear item, and probably needs replacement every couple years as the rock chips on the film start to accrue.
      Don't settle for the Toyota optioned 3" strip of film on the hood that costs $400...

      If you decide to do this I recommend going to Chicago Auto Pros. I had them do my 2020 4Runner. So happy with the results. PPF film on the front and ceramic coating on the rest. Congratulations on the new car. Love the white. On a side note, disappointed the 2020 SR5 Premium didn’t come with blind spot monitor, climate control and soft close on the lift gate. My 2003 SR5, which is my daily driver, has climate control and soft close.

    I got the same car, but XLE and without some of the options.
    I want to install the same hood lifts, but I dont have many tools. I do want to do things properly though, would you say I should get a tap and die set to clean out the mounting hole, or is it not worth it?
    And also do you have any updates planned for a recommended dash cam? and then a video for wiring the dash cam to the fuse box?
    Also what tint levels did you decide for you vehicle, and again congrats on your new car!
