This is why most people that practice Wing Chung in China these days keep getting their ass kick. Wing Chung is all about speed, without speed your Wing Chung is just a dance. But, most people learning Wing Chung in China today doesn't have those training. They only know the combat moves. I saw a video from the US army regarding how the army train soldiers in Wing Chung, the basic starting from lesson one they do a tough and look drill, it is about training soldier's speed and reflex, so in battle they can do all the Wing Chung move very quickly on reflex and take down the enemy before they know what hit them.

This is due to for a long time, since the Communist China civilian are not allowed to train in martial art for combat, only train for health, so, most people trained in Chinese martial art doesn't even got the most basic training application in combat. And then it get very embarrassing, they go into the ring and try to fight and get their ass kick, because they got 0 idea how to apply it in combat. In the US on the other hand, American Wing Chung fighters are very tough, ever since Bruce Lee introduced Wing Chung into the US since the 60s, American Wing Chung master continue to improve upon what Bruce Lee originally taught and develop further and more advance technique including how to better train Wing Chung practitioner to use this style in combat, Hong Kong and Taiwan's Wing Chung standard is pretty good also, but currently US is the world leader, after Hong Kong. China's Wing Chung guy...only good enough to practice for health, put them into combat, they are screw

I beat the kick boxing teacher in a sparring match simply because I was on him from the start and we weren't limited to the kick boxing sport rules and I wasn't even up to learning biu gee yet., had I waited like a lot of the wing chun practitioners you see lose their fights do, I woulda lost due to his controlling the cadence and range of the fight.

I don't train wing chun, so I can't say how accurate the techniques were, but the movement is very amateurish, she swings he hands around, as if she is generating all that force from just her arm movements. When you compare it to Donni Yen's portrayal of wing chun, he uses his whole body to receive and push aside attacks, and uses his body to apply force in his attacks

In this movie, called Impetuous Love in Action (2014 by Frankie Chan), a super rich guy falls in love with a girl who's a Wing Chun trainer. The first time they meet, she kicks his brother's ass. The second time they meet she kicks his ass and the one of his bodyguard. He remains determined to win her heart with the intention of dumping her in the end to have his revenge. His bodyguard, no longer working for him, still sends bad guys to fight the girl several times in the movie. They all get kicked in the ass. In this scene, the ex bodyguard shows up at a gym-spa, managed by the girl's father, bringing this yellow-dressed guy to do what he doesn't have the guts to do for himself. Spoiler alert: that's not Bruce Lee 😉 I enjoyed this movie because asian humour is so different and unexpected and because I'd never seen a love story/ martial arts movie like this before.
Eh, I don't know about "than anybody else". Bruce Lee did have impressive speed, but we've seen videos of him sparring with karate experts and they tag him quite a bit. Bruce Lee wasn't some kind of fighting god. His contribution to martial arts comes more from his ground breaking philosophy of discarding tradition in favor of functionality, not from his actual fighting skills (there's nothing to suggest Bruce Lee could match up to the pro-fighters of his own era, let alone the modern era. Or that he had much experience in real fights). Would Bruce Lee beat a 100lbs woman though? Yes. Obviously.

@@GiyuTomiokaTheOneAndOnly it's less about the art and more about the fighter... in one of the schools I went to there was a kick boxer who would teach a couple classes, and a wing chun teacher who had their curriculum that I trained in. I beat the kick boxing teacher in a sparring match simply because I was on him from the start and we weren't limited to the kick boxing sport rules and I wasn't even up to learning biu gee yet., had I waited like a lot of the wing chun practitioners you see lose their fights do, I woulda lost due to his controlling the cadence and range of the fight.

*You* feel it's disrespectful, but I don't. I don't think it's disrespectful because it's not saying anything bad about him, it's not saying, or even implying, that the female fighter did, would have, or could have beaten the _real_ Bruce Lee.
It seems to me to clearly just be an absurd, silly scene in an absurd, silly show. The fact that there are fellow students filming the fight on an iPhone or such in the background removes any question that this is meant to be modern times, and therefore it couldn't possibly be Bruce Lee himself. A fanboy imposter, perhaps.
It seems more disrespectful to the art of Wing Chun for a hack actress to be using lame, generic movie Kung Fu under the guise of Wing Chun, because they seem to _actually_ be presenting the style as Wing Chun. So that's _actually_ misrepresenting something real as being something else.
Ultimately, jokes, satire, parody, comedy, etc are fine with people until something hits a raw nerve, and then all of a sudden it's no longer fine because feelings were hurt, disrespect was perceived, lines were felt to be crossed, etc. If something _feels_ disrespectful to you, or_seems_ disrespectful, then say that. In this movie, called Impetuous Love in Action (2014 by Frankie Chan), a super rich guy falls in love with a girl who's a Wing Chun trainer. The first time they meet, she kicks his brother's ass. The second time they meet she kicks his ass and the one of his bodyguard. He remains determined to win her heart with the intention of dumping her in the end to have his revenge. His bodyguard, no longer working for him, still sends bad guys to fight the girl several times in the movie. They all get kicked in the ass.
In this scene, the ex bodyguard shows up at a gym-spa, managed by the girl's father, bringing this yellow-dressed guy to do what he doesn't have the guts to do for himself. Spoiler alert: that's not Bruce Lee 😉
I enjoyed this movie because asian humour is so different and unexpected and because I'd never seen a love story/ martial arts movie like this before.

Eh, I don't know about "than anybody else". Bruce Lee did have impressive speed, but we've seen videos of him sparring with karate experts and they tag him quite a bit. Bruce Lee wasn't some kind of fighting god. His contribution to martial arts comes more from his ground breaking philosophy of discarding tradition in favor of functionality, not from his actual fighting skills (there's nothing to suggest Bruce Lee could match up to the pro-fighters of his own era, let alone the modern era. Or that he had much experience in real fights).
Would Bruce Lee beat a 100lbs woman though? Yes. Obviously.
