At 300+ kn it wont actually "rip the gear clean off" but the wire harnesses for the wheel speed sensors likely would be ripped off which would make for a less than fun landing

Quick and dirty? I feel like I could fly a real F16 after watching this, thanks a lot! Especially the radar section, very quickly made sense. Just need a far better joystick now for all the buttons I now need lol. Sub'd good sir.
The systems are ridiculously hard but that's only a tiny part of the battle .Then you have to know how to spot targets,fly with energy ,evade missiles.Mate it would take me two lifetimes to learn all this shit.Ridiculously hard.
I devoted a great deal of time to this sim back in the early to mid 2000s. It was a great time in my life and I am glad to see that the torch is continued to be carried by developers and virtual pilots. The learning curve is steep, but worthwhile.
That funnel gun sight is way more useful than people think. You're supposed to line up the wingtips from edge to edge and then pull the trigger, it's not perfect but it gets you in the ballpark at least! (It's similar to the old gyro sights from WW2) Old video to post a comment on, I know, but I figure it'll be useful for newcomers! Awesome video, by the way! I've flown the F18 in DCS a decent amount, but I picked up some MFG Crosswinds and have been wanting to put my set-up through something real immersive, BMS dynamic campaigns have been on my check list to give a college try and this video has certainly helped!
Here's the truth. There is NO way in hell I could do this! Props to you that CAN do this. It's a shame that I don't possess the aptitude to play this game... Should I call this a game? There is a first, I've now seen a product so thorough that I question whether or not to call this a game. A game to me is something I enjoy. This is by far the best Flight Sim I've seen to date!

hi.. I've stucked "The Targeting Pod is slaved to your Radar unless you press "TMS Up" to put the pod into "Area Mode" After i put it in AREA MODE it locks point, and I can't figure out how to move around and find target? what keys should I use...or what keys should I look in controls?

Hey Chuck Yeager, Thank you for the video. I am a big user of DCS and just recently picked this up but have been working like crazy to get my controls correct. You mention being able to set key configurations by simply clicking on and then pressing the corresponding key to replace it. This never works for me, expect what it does do is carry me to where the key is assigned (Very much so like in DCS when you are not setting a key but you press it and it shows you what it is assigned to). This has been a huge issue for me as I have been able to join my two flight devices (stick and throttle) and have been able to set my Axis's but the keys seem to be out of my control completely. Any advice? Thank you man.

Are you related to Chuck Yeager man? If you are, that's gotta be awesome in the officer's programs if you join. My AF Academy was class of 2010 (started 2006) and AFROTC class of 2012. Both of which a pilot slot never happened for me. Had the 8-pack body, had the flight aptitude scores, had the volunteer hours, had the private flying hours. You can prepare yourself all your life. But you have to be selected in a way too. I sure weren't. Now 2020 in my 30s with a life-got-a-hold-of-ya body. But you know what, thank god for BMS!!! keeps me from going nutz. An old air force colonel, Robert G Wright, once said to me to watch out don't build bad habits from these sims. But cool tutorials to spoon feed!!! the new guys man. I wish there was a video like this over 10 years ago since Free Falcon 5. It is amazing how BenchMarkSims kept improving the Falcon 4.0 program. I've been out of it for years. I just got myself a beast of a desktop & the latest video card along with TrackIR. But man, my microphone sucks! What do you use? Lovin' the new BMS 4.34. It's amazing for someone older like me coming from Flight Sim 98', Nova Logic F-16 99', and Jane's 97' to see something beautiful as BMS.

I disagree. I can do a barrel roll and shoot my rocket launder when I jump out of my cockpit only to be able to land back in and continue the fight. Thats war. Thats realism, thats called being a keyboard warrior.
I would pay 60$ for a brand new Falcon.. not that BMS isn't incredible but it's still bottlenecks due to a 90's sim being patched.. but I should shut up cause EA,or Ubisoft might see this comment.

This is kind of late, and I am sure you've already got the hang of using the MFDs, but to move your cursor is with Shift + Arrows. Don't worry, this also works in 4.34
I just bought Falcon 4.0 on ebay for $140.00. It is the binder edition. It said it was new never opened. When I receive it on Friday ( 3-21-2014 ) and if the cd is not the original what would you do?
The loading screen shows the F-16 with an info tip saying they run the Pratt engine...permanent overseas F-16's are all using GE's including those assigned at Kunsan and Osan.

Hey Chuck I have the falcon 4 allied force software disc I've installed it a few different times on different platforms never had any problem doing so. Until here lately I can't get it to finish installing. It stops and gives an error about shading exe I've tried to install it on the same computer that its been installed on before. I can't figure this out. I want to play with this software again so bad need help!
Just a small correction, not sure if there was a balloon or something since I can't see the icons through the TH-cam app on the phone. But anyway, at around 32:45 minutes, when your cursor is at 5nm you'd be scanning down to a value higher than 9000ft, 4000ft wouldn't be possible as you said, since it would be out of the cone.

Chuck I don't know if you will even get this, but I have one question. I am planning on getting this sim when I return to the states. Is there a free flight mode in multiplayer that will allow you and a friend to practice delivering weapons at that range or just learning how to work the systems in the jet?

I don't have all those tactical engagements, I have like 30-45 and 1-29 are missing. Is my install broken? Where can I get the earlier noobie tactical engagements to practice?
+Kelby Miller From the tactical engagements page select ground ops and than the last flight. It should put you in a cold F16, so you can practice starting it up.

When I press up down "," key arrow key of my falcon 4.32, the plane doesn't do left rudder but move my view point to left, "." key becomes view point to left, "L" becomes viewpoint to central. I didn't make any changes. Do you know the possible reason that these keys doesn't do what they suppose to do? Is there another key I should press together? I actually try ctrl or alt or shift with right arrow key and none pf these 2-key combination works. Pls don't ask me why I am still using 4.32 instead of upgrade to 4.35. I like old version.
First of all, update your Falcon BMS to *4.36*. Then look into the *Alternative Launcher:* github.com/chihirobelmo/FalconBMS-Alternative-Launcher. Hi everybody, i've already followed lots of starting tutorials, but I still can't make my FCR system on. Everything else seens to be ok, but de FCR panel indicates it is off, even after I turn it on. When I start a quick mission and the plane is already flying I am able to turn off and after turn on the FCR and everything works fine, but from ramp I can't make it. Can u guys help me?
is it the MFDs that don't turn on or only the FCR? in both cases, try turning on all switches on the AVIONICS POWER PANEL on the right console. for more info refer to page 56 in the BMS-Dash1.
How do you slew the tgp / radar? I've looked on the internet and I can't find 'slew' controls in the controls. Not sure how it's controlled because I come from DCS A10C, where you have specific slew controls.
It's just like the A-10, there's a general slew control on the throttle. Just like the A-10 there's only one slew control for all sensors so you need to manage SOI to control which sensor is selected for control.
Got a question and by the way thanks for this. I always wanted to get back on this but got a lot of confuse and a lot of questions. Soooo, to get this BMS 4.32 what version of Falcon I need : Falcon 4.0 or Falcon 4.0 allied force, or anyone will do? It might be called TMS forward. From RWS selecting a target once where you "bug" a target is called SAM; other radar contacts are possible. Pressing TMS up again on a bugged track enters STT which only tracks the one target. STT is automatically selected for bugged target in RWS submode when target is
I'm just wondering if bms has the same or similar 30 tutorial missions that allied force has, and if the manual runs you through those missions...like it does in allied force? I have allied force and went to start learning with the tutorial missions but to read the manual and play the missions I need to print the manual out to read it whilst I can just pause the game during a mission. I feel the tutorial missions in allied force in conjunction with the manual is the best way to learn the game, as it starts off the with utter basics of handling the aircraft with the hud features, and you progressively learn everything else in separate missions, all in conjuction with the manual...definitely the best way to learn. I feel that if bms doesn't have the same tutorial missions (or similar) which the manual walks you through, then I feel the game would just be too difficult to learn...and I want bms after watching the vids as I can see it looks so much better...otherwise think i'll just stick to allied force.

You will need a torrent client to download the file such as utorrent or bit torrent. PS. Right now (1/29/2016) the torrent download links are down for maintainence. Check back daily to see if they're back up.

I think I am doing something wrong because my radio isnt working, when I press the 5 to request taxi or take off for example, my pilot doesnt talk to the control tower, so I dont get any indication. I am new at Falcon, probabli I did a mistake, so is somebody there who can fix my error or explain me what I am doing badly?
I had the same problem after changing the default QWERTY keys (they are all for AI comms). According to the guys at the BMS forum, those QWERTY keys are "hard-coded" to the game, so, if you changed those keys, you won't be able to communicate with artificial intelligence world. Easy fix: set the comms QWERTY keys to their default values and you'll be alright.
I can't get key bindings to stick. I have a TM HOTAS Warthog and no matter what I try I can't get it to work. ie thrust seems to work in reverse on the settings page but does nothing in game. Any tips?
I just spent a whole night with the exact same problem. I found out its pretty simple. You have to go to 'controllers' in the options menu and set the throttle axis to the TM HOTAS throttle. It is set to keyboard by default everytime BMS is started. If you have pedals you have to do similar Every Time you start BMS. Then go to the controls and select the joystick in the dropdown menu to the left and then click once on the left side column where the keys are assigned and then press the button on the stick you want to use. Then, save your profile to be safe and continue by selecting the throttle in the dropdown menu on the left once more. Then set up your throttle controls the same way you did with the joystick by clicking on the left columns with each key binding once and pushing the button you wish to use. Test the throttle and set AB with a click of the mouse. Save your profile one more time and click Apply. Now you are ready to go. Load up a mission or training and enjoy.

the "best" is propably the thrustmaster cougar. out of the box its a piece of sh*t, but if you invest 300-500 bucks, you ll turn it into the most accurate replica of the F-16-stick you could ever get- including force-mod functionality. google cougar world. otherwise, a x52 will do too. mine worked fine for five years, but now its wobbly. yet you get a lot for that price.

Hey Chuck I have the falcon 4 allied force software disc I've installed it a few different times on different platforms never had any problem doing so. Until here lately I can't get it to finish installing. It stops and gives an error about shading exe I've tried to install it on the same computer that its been installed on before. I can't figure this out. I want to play with this software again so bad need help!
Just a small correction, not sure if there was a balloon or something since I can't see the icons through the TH-cam app on the phone. But anyway, at around 32:45 minutes, when your cursor is at 5nm you'd be scanning down to a value higher than 9000ft, 4000ft wouldn't be possible as you said, since it would be out of the cone.

How the heck do JDAM's and other GPS guided munitions work? I set up my weapon steerpoints, but the munitions don't seem to track them.

I don't have all those tactical engagements, I have like 30-45 and 1-29 are missing. Is my install broken? Where can I get the earlier noobie tactical engagements to practice?

+Kelby Miller From the tactical engagements page select ground ops and than the last flight. It should put you in a cold F16, so you can practice starting it up.

When I press up down "," key arrow key of my falcon 4.32, the plane doesn't do left rudder but move my view point to left, "." key becomes view point to left, "L" becomes viewpoint to central. I didn't make any changes.
Do you know the possible reason that these keys doesn't do what they suppose to do? Is there another key I should press together? I actually try ctrl or alt or shift with right arrow key and none pf these 2-key combination works. Pls don't ask me why I am still using 4.32 instead of upgrade to 4.35. I like old version.
First of all, update your Falcon BMS to *4.36*.

Hi everybody, i've already followed lots of starting tutorials, but I still can't make my FCR system on. Everything else seens to be ok, but de FCR panel indicates it is off, even after I turn it on. When I start a quick mission and the plane is already flying I am able to turn off and after turn on the FCR and everything works fine, but from ramp I can't make it. Can u guys help me?
is it the MFDs that don't turn on or only the FCR?
in both cases, try turning on all switches on the AVIONICS POWER PANEL on the right console.

How do I put on the nose wheel steering? Cause after I land I can't move up nosewheel...
How do you slew the tgp / radar? I've looked on the internet and I can't find 'slew' controls in the controls. Not sure how it's controlled because I come from DCS A10C, where you have specific slew controls.
It's just like the A-10, there's a general slew control on the throttle. Just like the A-10 there's only one slew control for all sensors so you need to manage SOI to control which sensor is selected for control.
Got a question and by the way thanks for this. I always wanted to get back on this but got a lot of confuse and a lot of questions. Soooo, to get this BMS 4.32 what version of Falcon I need : Falcon 4.0 or Falcon 4.0 allied force, or anyone will do? It might be called TMS forward. From RWS selecting a target once where you "bug" a target is called SAM; other radar contacts are possible. Pressing TMS up again on a bugged track enters STT which only tracks the one target. STT is automatically selected for bugged target in RWS submode when target is
I'm just wondering if bms has the same or similar 30 tutorial missions that allied force has, and if the manual runs you through those missions...like it does in allied force? I have allied force and went to start learning with the tutorial missions but to read the manual and play the missions I need to print the manual out to read it whilst I can just pause the game during a mission.
I feel the tutorial missions in allied force in conjunction with the manual is the best way to learn the game, as it starts off the with utter basics of handling the aircraft with the hud features, and you progressively learn everything else in separate missions, all in conjuction with the manual...definitely the best way to learn.
I feel that if bms doesn't have the same tutorial missions (or similar) which the manual walks you through, then I feel the game would just be too difficult to learn...and I want bms after watching the vids as I can see it looks so much better...otherwise think i'll just stick to allied force.

John Smith open regedit and press ctrl+f this opens search windows, search for benchmarksims and delete it and all its keys.
I think I am doing something wrong because my radio isnt working, when I press the 5 to request taxi or take off for example, my pilot doesnt talk to the control tower, so I dont get any indication. I am new at Falcon, probabli I did a mistake, so is somebody there who can fix my error or explain me what I am doing badly?
I had the same problem after changing the default QWERTY keys (they are all for AI comms). According to the guys at the BMS forum, those QWERTY keys are "hard-coded" to the game, so, if you changed those keys, you won't be able to communicate with artificial intelligence world. Easy fix: set the comms QWERTY keys to their default values and you'll be alright.

I can't get key bindings to stick. I have a TM HOTAS Warthog and no matter what I try I can't get it to work. ie thrust seems to work in reverse on the settings page but does nothing in game. Any tips?
I just spent a whole night with the exact same problem. I found out its pretty simple. You have to go to 'controllers' in the options menu and set the throttle axis to the TM HOTAS throttle. It is set to keyboard by default everytime BMS is started. If you have pedals you have to do similar Every Time you start BMS. Then go to the controls and select the joystick in the dropdown menu to the left and then click once on the left side column where the keys are assigned and then press the button on the stick you want to use. Then, save your profile to be safe and continue by selecting the throttle in the dropdown menu on the left once more. Then set up your throttle controls the same way you did with the joystick by clicking on the left columns with each key binding once and pushing the button you wish to use. Test the throttle and set AB with a click of the mouse. Save your profile one more time and click Apply. Now you are ready to go. Load up a mission or training and enjoy.

out of the box its a piece of sh*t, but if you invest 300-500 bucks, you ll turn it into the most accurate replica of the F-16-stick you could ever get- including force-mod functionality.
google cougar world. otherwise, a x52 will do too. mine worked fine for five years, but now its wobbly. yet you get a lot for that price.
