What’s in my performance bag? Well strap in kiddos, because I’m the mom friend. Character shoes, jazz shoes, band-aids, bobby pins, ALL of my makeup, all of my brushes, makeup remover, portable charger, glasses & case, lotion & perfume (both in hello beautiful by bath and body works), safety pins, scrunchies, scissors, gum, script, nail file, wallet, extra pads/tampons. That’s all I can list off of the top of my head, but yeah. That’s what happens when you do a show with kids I guess.
I know you didn't ask me but let me help you out Honestly it depends on the show and what exactly your role is. If I'm in a show that doesn't have elaborate choreography I honestly just wear a pad but if I'm doing a show that has a lot of movement I would just go with a menstrual disc or diva cup if that's what you have As long as you change right before the show and make sure everything secure you should be good Hope I helped the theatre gods know I could have used this advice a year ago
Hi Kath! I’m watching this because I’m preparing for Into The Woods on Thursday! I’m playing Rapunzel and I’m so happy because you’re such a big inspiration of mine and to play a role that you also played makes me so happy ☺️💗 lots of love x
My performance bag from my most recent show: -The script/score -an aquarium:D -my vlogging camera -makeup/wipes/hair elastics/Bobby pins -hairspray/hairbrush/curling iron -SOURPATCH KIDDOS -band aids! -a phone charger
Thanks for sharing your bag! Typical contents of mine (messenger bag): -script -Tylenol -Combs -pomade -coloring book to keep my sanity along with coloring utensils -emergency socks (both dress and athletic) -Actor's Thesaurus -AirBorne -ThroatCoat -4 flavors of non-menthol lozenges -various sundries
Aaah I’m so happy you liked the scrunchie! I had so much fun making it for you! Love’s Labour’s Lost was definitely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, and I’m so happy I saw it (and met you oh my gosh!)💜💜
Because I did theatre at my school, the closest thing to a performance bag was the cheaply made drawstring bags I carried my stuff in. We also took busses to my town's high school (where I'm currently enrolled and about to start senior year), which meant carrying backpacks in addition to the bags we used for performances and rehearsals.
It’s been like...5 years since I was in a show (rip my theater career) but I used to always have makeup, a book, coloring pages, water, bobby pins, hairspray, a charger, headphones (I was ensemble a lot and not in many scenes), a journal, and a snack or two in my performance bag. Loved seeing your stuff, those cameras are AMAZING
My performance stuff that’s put in my bag is basically the same as rehearsal plus anything I need specifically for that show! I bring my glasses, my phone, pens/pencils/highlighters, breath strips, chap stick, money, Starbucks card, my script(s), notebook, planner, extra little stage makeup just in case, socks, ear buds, and of course I show up with my iced coffee and a water bottle! :)
Hi Katherine! I just moved, and there are three things I was extremely sad to leave. Those three things were my friends and family, my house, and my theater program. I just started eighth grade, which means that I should have been able to do more shows at my school, but instead I’ve been watching from the sidelines while all of my friends have been auditioning. Call backs were today for James and the Giant Peach Junior, and I’ve just been listening to the music and internally sobbing. I might fly back to see it in November, but I just really wish I was there. My theater program also goes to the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta every January, and I didn’t know it was my last JTF when I went last year, and it’s tearing me apart. My local community theater is doing Once on this Island in February and March, but it’s 7-12th grade, so I’m going to be one of the youngest people there. I’m just really nervous and really sad. I know this is a random rant, but I needed to let it out, and I just figured that another thespian would understand. Thank you so much for reading this if you do, and I love you so much. You just seem so genuinely happy and kind and I love that about you. Your Instagram and Theater Thursday videos make me feel happy, and I truly appreciate that. I live you so much ❤️
I always bring: booty shorts, an extra pair of dance tights, character shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes, makeup bag, water bottle, Propel, a sweatshirt, a nude tanktop, twizzlers, wallet, bluetooth speaker, ipod, headphones, laptop, deodorant, bobby pins, hairspray. ETC. I bring a lot of stuff LOL. Thank you for making such amazing videos Kat!
Pleaaaaaseeeeeeeee make a video on broadway film adaptations- your favourite film adaptions, least favourite, musicals you WISH had a film adaption and musicals you hope NEVER get film adaptations!! I would love a video like this ❤️❤️❤️
I don't usually bring that much to my performances. I usually bring some kind of snack to share with the cast (cookies, specifically black and white cookies have been cast favorites at my high school), water bottle, comb (my hair's always a mess on stage, something to do while I'm offstage (usually homework or a notebook for drawing. I've started a series of drawings of theater characters in a manga style), tea if I'm sick, and when I played Coneybear, I brought two stuffed kitties for my Epilogue (I got to wear a cat onesie, and it was the best!!)
My tech week bag ( by the day) -water -two packs of fun dip -Chex mix -two shirts - a pair of shorts - my script - a highlighter -a pen - a book - a pack of ice breaker duos - deodorant - my phone - a portable charger - a comb -hair gel
Thanks for a video on my birthday!!! Makes my day a little brighter. I currently have a backpack to be mom all the time rather than a performance bag and mostly it is stuff for the kid
i bring: -any costume stuff i might need (if it's not already at the theater) -makeup to do touch ups -my phone -water and a snack -usually my script even though if you need it at a performance that's bad news lol -honestly that's pretty much it
What's in my performance bag? Off the top of my head touch up makeup and also lashes (cos I do them at the theatre), curling iron, brush and hairspray, bobby pins and hair elastics, extra skin-coloured tights and clear nail polish (to stop potential ladders from running), Extra peppermint gum, sour patch kids, doubled sided costume tape, litre water bottle, phone (of course!), lip balm, hand sanitizer and makeup wipes :)
Thank you for that Crucible joke, I've been feeling down and that really cracked me up, I needed that ( Also thank you grade 11 English class for allowing me to get the reference )
I always bring a literal ton of raisins, for me and the cast. Now everyone knows where to get raisins and I have become the mom of all my casts. I love it!
my rehearsal bag: script/libretto, character shoes, ballet shoes, tap shoes, lint roller, hairbrush, foot undies, backup socks, bobby pins, encouraging notes from previous cast-mates, emergency sewing kit, two pads, and a charger. it's a lifestyle.
YAYYY I have been waiting for another performance bag video, i was recently cast in a local production of Shrek the Musical and i cant wait for the performance days
Ok theatre Thursday fam, I need a Sondheim fan to help me. Don’t lie because I know you can. In Into the woods, does the baker ever find out about his wife and Cinderella’s prince? I feel like he did somehow but there’s a hole in my memory of the show. Quick summary of that plot section please?? Also does he see his wife in between when she cheats and when she dies?
Btw do you know that theory that the Witch’s mother is also Cinderella’s mother and that’s why Cindy can talk to the birds? There’s like a bunch more layers and I don’t know if everybody already knows it but it blows my mind the way that it lines up with all of the deep analysis of the show. Idk if it works out completely but it’s really cool
I know this is kind of a random thing, but I really love the character makeup videos, and I think that Dot from Sunday in The Park With George is such a interesting character. I don’t know just an idea. Love you so much. Bye
There's a picture of Shayde on your wall!! Lauren too! I've teched some shows they've been in and been choreographed by Lauren before!! Small world wow
Hi Katherine just wanted you to know how much you really mean to me. I'm just a 15 year old girl with broadway dreams. I just got casted in once upon a matress my 37th show we had our first dance rehersal this week and was binging your videos. And I got 3 more shows coming up so finding these videos is amazing. I love everything about you. Forever a drama geek so great to find others like me. Love you okay bye 💞
My performance bag is my school bag- when we were doing Romeo and Juliet, I got my script mixed up with to kill a mockingbird at times, it's a big mood
One of the things in my bag is some Sour Patch Kids coz they really help me before performances. I have one before every show. Oh and my water bottle is 2L
As a theatre Dad who works Sets, my performance bag(s) are filled with DeWalt power tools, but the one bag I bring home | back to the theatre each day always has a fresh pair of Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches
OMG WHY DID I NOT GET THE NOTIFICATION FOR THIS NUUUU Anyways stuff i always bring to shows ~ extra costume stuff + touch up makeup (duh) ~ emergency sewing kit ~ water bottle ~ deodorant (VERY important) ~ bobby pins, hair elastics, and a hairbrush ~ perfume ~ lotion and hand sanitizer ~ polaroid camera (the same one kat has but its green😊😊) ~ my phone ~ AND MOST IMPORTANTLY A BOOK Cuz i need something to do backstage

lnoths oh this is a question I’ve been meaning to ask: is it better to do a show with tampons, pads, or a diva cup..?
I know you didn't ask me but let me help you out

A BOOK
Cuz i need something to do backstage
This is really intriguing because I tend to lose everything in my performance bag every show 😂
Do you think you would ever do a video reacting to your old performances, if you have recordings of them?
Ahhh i was at school when I got this notification. It was so tempting!!
Ok but, Katherine as Ariel in The Little Mermaid? I think her voice is perfect for the role and just her overall look!

IT’S THEATRE THURSDAY😆😆😆😆
I wish that I could perform!!! I start my drama GCSE next week and I'm really nervous because I have a stammer and I don't really enjoy speaking, but I am OBSESSED with acting and everything to do with drama!
The one time I used i brought bobby pins to a show was for grease cuz I was a cheerleader and I had to wear my pjs under the skirt for the pink ladies sleepover scene we had dances before and you could see the frickin pink pajama pants
