"I do look a little bit like Draco Malfoy now, with my hair up." Okay, same! I hope I see the day went I can put my hair in a low ponytail and not look like a Founding Father.
Please send ur theatre children prayers, I close a production of footloose on Sunday after a month, and go right into tech week for a production of pippin that will run for another month. And while all of that is going on, I'm rehearsing for another production of pippin where I am leading player. I was lucky for a while, but then my immune system YESTERDAY was like naw ho your gonna get sick. Help.
Kat you have no idea how much you have changed my life. You help me through all the bullies, fights, and just life in general. I would just watch one of your videos, any of your videos, and i would be fully cheered up. You are so real and relateable. You are my role model, and I aspire to be like you. My dream is to be on Broadway, do musicals professionally and to make others laugh. I just wanted to say thank you. Love you Kat!
Kat, at the moment I'm doing THREE musicals! Did I mention we started rehearsal on a Monday, our first show is the Wednesday of the next week! I'm terrified but excited! We're doing Evita, Newsies, and Chicago! Wish me luck!
That sounds like such a cool musical! I'm helping lead a theater camp for kids this week, and today was shakespeare day. We did an insult-off and had them perform some of the fight scenes 😂it was a time. I was actually really happy with how it went because I know they were pretty intimidated by shakespeare because of the difficult language, but they ended up having a lot of fun.
ok but when you were talking about how everyone was very welcoming when you started this show reminded me of when i started rehearsals for Seussical JR. all of the older kids in my age range already knew each other because they all went to school together and had done shows together where as i do online school and this is the first show i had done since moving from my hometown and as soon as i introduced myself actually at callbacks, they all were really welcoming and immediately treated me like we had been friends forever and we are a month away from opening night and they’ve all become some of my closest friends and it breaks my heart to know we won’t see each other 3 times a week soon.
I’m glad you’re having so much fun!! I’m actually going to also do a Shakespeare show soon, just...not a musical 😅. (Also “I just wear a pretty dress and cry” is the biggest mood???)
Awwww! It’s so nice to know that the people in your show are so welcoming! I’m currently in Crazy For You playing a cowgirl named Junior, and so many new faces showed up to the company, which was awesome because me and my friends who have done the company for a while welcomed them with open arms and I’ve made so many new friends! I can’t wait to see more about your show!💞
I just did a production of the straight play Love’s Labour’s Lost but we set it in the 50’s. We cut it down to 90-ish minuets and me and two other girls were car hops who sang little snippets of 50’s songs throughout the show and we called ourselves “The Bardettes”. It was so, so much fun.
Yay!!! I'm so excited for you! I wish I was in a show right now but not until September. Sighs. I shall be living my theatre life this summer through you Kat.
Hey Katherine! Thanks for always being so inspirational and positive! It reflects on my mood and I’m sure some of the #TheatreThursdayFam feel that way, too! Love you!❤️❤️❤️
I just did my first outdoor show about a month ago and let me just say it was an EXPERIENCE. We were on a farm in Georgia and we got stuck in a rainstorm during our first tech rehearsal. Lucky it was nice and clear for the show but it is honestly such a cool experience you will love it.
Congrats for the new show Kat! It's gonna be amazing and you're gonna be great in that big dress and crying haha I'm doing a Shakespeare classic in teather too! "A midsummer night dream" I'm a fairy and I'm so excited!!
I am so excited because my middle school is doing g a musical for the first time in 3 years and I’m so excited (even if I do t get in then I will do props and try to help with marketing)
I saw a production of the play version of the show and it was an outdoor production and it was AMAZING! Definitely one of my favorite theater experiences. I’m so excited to hear you’re doing it outdoors! I just think that is so awesome!
We seem to be in similar productions at the moment! Right now I am in a production where on one side of the stage is the original balcony scene of Romeo and Juliet and on the other side a Contemporary version of the scene. In the middle of the stage is a narrator which will be a Brit Lit teacher and a comedian narrating it! We are also putting on the show outside! I am playing the original Juliet and I’m so excited!! I also want to let you know I look up to you in so many ways! You’re an inspiration to me acting wise and even just in life! Thank you!
wait... now i need to convince my parents to drive to LA to let me see kat steal a golf cart in a show. oh, and also to learn more about shakespeare. -if anybody asks, that my "actual" reason-
Your videos always make me smile and get excited to go to rehearsal/shows/auditions. Currently prepping for my first year of college auditions, which is kinda stressful, but your videos have been a huge help and a huge boost to my spirits. ❤️ And I love your GRWMs! I love the honest theatre chat.
I love watching people doing musicals as well as being in this is the first year I have a major speaking part and as much as I love it it’s in 5 days and I feel the stress
I too have a summer camp mentality when it comes to doing shows in the summer. I’m currently in a production of Newsies and it’s so much fun and I’ve made so many friends and it’s what I imagine summer camp would’ve felt like, had I ever gone to summer camp.
If you like watching Shakespeare with a cool twist, and you’re ever in Vancouver during the summer, you should totally check out bard on the beach! It’s an amazing outdoor theatre festival that runs from June to September every year with four or five great Shakespeare plays and they are always so good! I’ve seen three shows there - merry wives of Windsor, the winters tale and much ado about nothing - and all three were fantastic!
I am doing a summer play at my middle school and I am loving it! I am so glad I found you! Oh yeah, and I am Sponge in James and the Giant Peach, thanks for reading!
(Forgive me if someone has already mentioned this but I am a total need for Shakespeare) There is a theory that Much ado about nothing was actually written as a sequal to Loves Labour's Lost and was given the original title Loves Labour's Won (Shakespeare's lost play). Here in the UK the Royal Shakespeare Company sometimes perform them as a pair with the 'original titles' ^_^ So Rosaline may not have just been an earlier draft but may have been the original name for Beatrice xx Also I love your videos. You inspire me so much xx
Also, just out of pure curiosity, what’s the highest note your character sings? Her personality sounds like a character I’d LOVE to play someday, but super high notes are still kind of tough for me still
I only know a little bit about musicals, and I don't have a singing/acting/dancing bone in my body, but I love watching your videos so much - I think it's because you seem so kind and genuine 😊 (and your bedroom's absolutely gorgeous)
Remember that production of Pirates of Penzance that you saw a few months ago? Well my dad is friends with the lighting designer and I got to see that companies production of HMS Pinafore and it was the best thing I have ever seen.
I’m so excited Kat! I just found out I have 2 auditions coming and one is for into the woods and Shrek ❤️ and I’m hoping to get Into one of them (because you know auditions can be tough to get through)
I’m currently the Narrator in Into The Woods and we open tomorrow night and I’m so excited!!! Then on Monday, I start “A Midsummer Nights Dream” as Helena!!! I’ve never performed Shakespeare and I’m playing one of the leads so... let’s see how this goes😊
As someone who just finished a run of an outdoor show(I did Oklahoma), lemme just say I have never appreciated air conditioning more than I did in tech week
Hi Kat, in September i will be playing Sherrie in Rock of Ages.. i was hoping you can make one of your tutorials on the charcter as there is literally nothing online and i would love some inspiration!!!! only if you have the time xxx
The one time I did an outdoor show ("The Comedy of Errors" with Shakespeare in The Park, actually!!) we had to stop one performance, literally DURING THE LAST SCENE, because it started pouring rain to the point that our Archer-style makeup was running down our faces and most of the audience was running to take shelter anyway...so uh...hopefully that doesn't happen to you!!
“I’m trying to let everybody down incrementally” my mood up until tech week tbh
"I do look a little bit like Draco Malfoy now, with my hair up." Okay, same! I hope I see the day went I can put my hair in a low ponytail and not look like a Founding Father.
Angela Capawana I SAY THIS ALL THE TIME AHHH
"but mainly musicals"

Please send ur theatre children prayers, I close a production of footloose on Sunday after a month, and go right into tech week for a production of pippin that will run for another month. Good luck with your show! I wish I could come see it! Random thought... I think you'd be an amazing Heather McNamara in Heathers
Kat you have no idea how much you have changed my life. You help me through all the bullies, fights, and just life in general. SUMMER CAMP MENTALITY IS SUCH A MOOOOOOD
Kat, at the moment I'm doing THREE musicals! Did I mention we started rehearsal on a Monday, our first show is the Wednesday of the next week! I'm terrified but excited! We're doing Evita, Newsies, and Chicago! Wish me luck!
Break a leg!!
Last time I was this early, Audrey 2 hadn't started the apocalypse yet
That sounds like such a cool musical! I'm helping lead a theater camp for kids this week, and today was shakespeare day. We did an insult-off and had them perform some of the fight scenes 😂it was a time. I was actually really happy with how it went because I know they were pretty intimidated by shakespeare because of the difficult language, but they ended up having a lot of fun.

I’m cleaning my room... this is perfect!
Yay!!! I'm so excited for you! I wish I was in a show right now but not until September. Sighs. I shall be living my theatre life this summer through you Kat.
Everything you said about slowly letting everybody down is such a big mood
Hey Katherine! Thanks for always being so inspirational and positive! It reflects on my mood and I’m sure some of the #TheatreThursdayFam feel that way, too! Love you!❤️❤️❤️
As a Shakespeare geek, I am way too excited about you doing this show!

Rewatching old videos, and when she mentions Berowne, I just go “TREVOR!!!”. So, that’s fun.
