- HEY #TheatreThursdayFam 🎉💕🎭 so here's the dealio: I know that you hardcore subscribers are like "Wait, didn't we already see this video? What's happening? Am I in GROUND HOG DAY (the musical, not the movie)?" So, here's what happened.
I was trying to send this video to a member of the Theatre Thursday Fam, and, in my infinite wisdom and tech savvy, added the video to a random playlist. When I went to delete it from the playlist, I actually deleted the video🙃🙃🙃
tl;dr: I clicky the wrong button and made it go bye-bye.
SO HERE IT IS, ROUND TWO!!! What to bring to an audition / What's in my audition bag, 2017 edition!!!
In this video, I'll mention my absolute top must haves for any audition! I'll go through my actual audition bag and pull out everything (well, almost everything) I used for my most recent audition. We're talking character shoes, a leotard, tights, my book, headshots, the entire lost city of Atlantis. Just kidding, I don't show my tights.

I just did my first audition today. It was for Hairspray Jr., and our school was hosting a community production that welcomed sixth grade through adults from the state area to audition. I was petrified. I was one of the last people to sing to audition for a solo part, and I was sick spontaneously so I was scared of my voice cracking and wheezing on stage. The casting directors said that the song you pick won't sway The role you'll get; they were only looking for your voice type, quality, talent, vocal range, and how well you can sing alone in front of a group. So I just did what my heart told me: Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again. I got up front and people were scoffing a bit; I mean, who wouldn't? I'm a girl in seventh grade who has a low lumberjack voice, an unattractive face, and still isn't even five feet tall. But everyone shut up when I started singing. Then when I finished I sat for a second and was still scared of people's reactions, but then everyone stood up and clapped and gave me high fives! I was so surprised! The audition was amazing and everyone was getting along so well, even though they had just met. So, if the auditions were that great, think of the rehearsals and performances! I'm looking forward to seeing the cast list next week! But, I still feel bad because I know that I have no chance in leading roles. It's just because I'm so little and if I was playing Velma (I really want to play her) and Amber is taller than me, and so is everyone else on stage, how will I be taken seriously? And people always make costumes beforehand at our school, so I'm out of luck because I wear different top and bottom sizes because I have a little girl stature but a mature body, so it's hard to buy clothes. It's not just this show that I worry about my height for, though. I'm not supposed to grow anymore, so that means I'm stuck in this box forever. I can only think of one role that WANTS a shorter actress: (my dream role, the entire reason I spent since third grade building a vocal range of FOUR octaves!) Christine Daae. That's. My. Only. Hope! Anyway, toodles! ✌♡⭐
I hated my singing voice because of how it sounded on video. Once I sang in a group audition and afterwards everyone said I did better that the girl that went before me. Not around that girl though. Anyway, I felt bad and still don't know what part I'm gonna get (I signed up for a class for the play so everyone signed up will be in it)

Lwsinha MC never too late to start!! You don’t have to be a professional dancer to make it in theater you just gotta be a mover!!
All you need is energy and practice. I've never done a day of dance but I had energy and practiced my ass off for my audition for shrek-got three heavy dancing parts and even a ballet solo!

It's something I'm really passionate about and I've been taking classes on it for three years and I was wondering if you'd ever make a video about how you got into it and how you started doing it for the company you do it for. (Also my school just announced the musical and they're doing Cinderella and my audition is on Tuesday and I'm so pumped woot)
I always bring: a change of clothes for the dance audition, dance shoes, all of my sheet music (just in case if they want to hear another song I have them.), 2 bottles of water, a snack, my resume is always in my binder with my sheet music. That's about it

this isn't related to the video but, my school is going grease. i didn't get the role i wanted but i'm still a speaking role (patty simcox! woo!) this is my first musical and i'm in love with it. even the most tiring rehearsals are insanely fun. i'm in love with the cast and everything about it. it won't be the best ever but i'm just so happy doing it. i just wanted to put that out there.

hi Katherine! I have a question about your experiences in theater. (also anybody in the comments be free to add) BUT what have been some pre performance stressors? such as somebody being late or not showing up at all? last minute wardrobe malfunctions? etc etc etc. something I've been asking all my theater friends and figured if there were any last second mishaps right before a show that you could share! thanks! see you next thursday!
+Mitchell Schulte Hey Mitchell! Those are definitely stressful! I'll usually get a little stressed if my voice/body is tired or if someone important is seeing the show that night. Aside from that, I don't really get nervous before shows!
