Fairy tail is one of my favourite anime. It is a fun ride and has some great moments. It isn't one of the greatest when it comes to story and power scaling, but it is a solid series. Some of its criticism is justified, but most people hate it just to hate it. One big flaw to fairy tail that people point out is its repetitiveness. One can describe fairy tail as "shit happens, but power of friendship prevails". This is true to an extent but the story is much deeper than that. You could say that the story had great potential but failed to reach its expectations. A solid series all things considered. On another note, if you think the number of characters in Fairy Tail is too much, wait till you meet One Piece ( Around 900 named characters). One Piece is the greatest story in my opinion. Probably not the greatest anime, but definitely the best story I know. Naruto was my favourite before i started one piece. Now its one piece all the way.
One Piece might not be the best anime and the manga readers criticize it super openly, but no one can argue against the fact that One Piece is the best manga out there. It's a masterpiece and Oda hasn't fallen into any of the traps shows like Fairy Tail, or Shokugeki No Soma fell into. Especially the power scaling is clearly shown, even in the current arc with around 1000 chapters already.
Starting from like 55:30... are you straight up mocking this? Because this is Fairy Tails most serious arc, you had plenty of time to mock, its too late
the fact that they were incapable of comprehending the large mass of characters just amused me to an amazing level and I dont know why. it was pretty easy for me to remember all the characters when i was watching Fairy Tail but after i finished the series they all just slipped out of my memories.
It’s cause fairy tail has a lot of arcs and each of them going through a different “problem” or conflict. So there’s new characters introduced and there’s some that go and obviously the main characters that stay throughout the whole show. But the arcs last for a good amount of time and some characters appear multiple times in different arcs as well. So the whole character memorization thing, Unless they’re really irrelevant, remembering names shouldn’t be a problem...lol The main characters I would say are Natsu and Lucy (the pink haired guy and the blond girl that show up a lot) but some would say the main characters is Fairy Tail itself (fairy tail as in the guild they’re in, theyre wizards. The tattoo they have represents their guild. different characters might have different tattoos because they’re in a different guild)
In terms of plot, fairytail is just that. No "im gonna be hokage" "im gonna find one piece" "im gonna be wizard king" "Im gonna be a hero" goal. Though the main mc is Lucy who wants to join fairytail, but she joined after episode 1 and meets up with natsu who is looking for his foster parent dragon. Do fairies have tails? Do they even exist? Thats why its fairytail an eternal mystery therefore an eternal adventure. Fairytail is an never ending adventure, thats why its all over the place lol. They receive jobs from people and its random. The fairytail guild is basically family so touch one of them and you make all of fairytail your enemy, as much as they are destructive during jobs they dont want their nakama hurt. Its pretty much easy to remember all of the characters because even if theyre many the main guys interact with all of them and ill say they have unique characteristics which makes then easier to remember. Fairytail is not the best anime out there but its one of those that will give you the feels. Plus dude the ost and theme is really one of the best in anime history.

Ik I'm hella late and don't know of you watched it or not but the best thing about Fairy Tail is if it wants you to feel something, if it's happy, sad, mad etc.... They will make you feel those emotions 🤣
About the question if we remember the characters, I have been watching the series since S1 ended and mostly remember the main cast. The villains and characters that appear in single arcs I've forgotten and I remember just the most impactful arcs. I was pretty much watching it week-to-week as it came out even with all the breaks it had, most characters are easy enough to remember or at least their powers. In terms of predictibility it's pretty easy and it has a lot of plot holes and deus ex machinas but the core of it is about friendship, family and acceptance so it leaves you with a good feeling in the end. I don't think it deserves the hate it receives, though the memes about the power of friendship and all are fun. My biggest problem is with the character proportions going from normal to watermelons the further you go in the series. (kind of like Nami from One Piece) With Fairy Tail you know you're signing up for stupid powerups, fanservice, very many characters that aren't too in-depth but you still get impactful scenes if you don't think too critically of the events and accept it for what it is. It has a lot of moments that could've been a lot better, but it gets hype done right. Even with all that said I wouldn't recommend it unless someone is really needing their dose of shounen but has watched the other big ones, even though this is vastly different in terms of core themes.
57:11 to clarify, the 2nd series is officially called Fairy Tail Zero and tells the story of the founding of Fairy Tail by its 1st Master, Mavis Vermilion
1:14:28 the Whole show Fairy Tail is a Fun watch and we Fairy Tail fans grew up with it (that's explains why we love it soo much) It has happy moment, sad moments, and hype moments, alot of tragic moments but the best part is how they all as a Guild as a Family overcome those sad tragic difficulties and grow together and turn it into happy moments
Honestly, I would LOVE to see you watch Fairy Tail, I'm sure I would enjoy your reactions since you always notice so many things and I love your videos, I'm trying to binge healthily haha!

@@BOLDcast I would also suggest that u guys watch haikyuu first rather than my hero academia as they are almost similar popularity wise and I think u will have more discussions for haikyuu as it is rather deep show
I always felt the anime was underwhelming. They did the light novel source material dirty. and the third season u can tell the anime studio did not give a single fuck for it. Shit was so fast-paced and animation went down compared to the original. S1 and S2 weren't bad though. Railgun though is a pretty solid anime show.
One of the things I love about this show is that even though there are a lot of characters, you get to know each one of them pretty well and a lot of them have a deep backstory. You get invested in not only all the members of the Fairytail guild (which is already a lot) but also members of the other guilds (not to mention some bad guys turned good guys). So to answer your question, I found it pretty easy to remember almost all of the character's names. You obviously have the core group (Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Ezra, Wendy) that go on missions together but there are many other groups in the guild that you also get to see quite often and team up with the main group when needed. It's all about the power of friendship and how they would do anything for the sake of their family in the guild. Their bonds are incredibly strong.
39:12 trust me, watching it will get easier, some characters aren’t knew, it’s because of the time skip after op 10 as for why some of them didn’t age, watch to find out

Fairytail is one of my favorite anime’s I’ve watched, most people shit on it because it’s popular to shit on it and not actually watch & finish it. The show has definitely made me cry like a baby at some parts and keeps me invested and entertained. Despite the major plot holes in each arc it still manages to keep me invested. It’s one of those anime’s where it’s mid but keeps you invested the whole time.
Great Vid you two, this show is definitely polarizing either you love it or you hate it. I was definitely in that love category at first since it was one of the first shows that I watched but as time went on and my taste in anime changed I came to realize it’s many flaws. The thing this show does well doe is it’s emotional scenes and it’s ost. Hopefully you guys do Gintama OP reaction video in the future, it be so fun to watch since those openings are a mix of badass and hilarious, hope it wins a poll one day. Keep up the great work 👍.
Thank you!! We have seen many comments about the ost so will probably check that out on our own time. And Gintama is definitely on our list for Ops. Its been on our past few patreon polls but its just not getting very many votes compared to some of the other options. We will for sure do it sooner or later though so dont worry!
Just so you know, yes, most of us remember 99% of all these characters and could name you at least one scene they liked of said character. Even the background ones.
It is very easy to remember the fairy tail characters beacuse some of there name are not so Japanese like erza's and Lucy's and angel's name is english so it actually really easy you even will remember happy's and Carla's name because it's english there the cats by the way
If you are watching an long running anime series and almost remember any of their names and and personalities its a sign that you are into the said anime
Hey guys, diff topic here, I'm just wondering if you have ever watched "Angel Beats!: Another Epilogue" which is a 2-3 min single episode that gives hints/clues to the lore of the story more.
I like Fairy Tail having many OP. One, it doesn't bore us. Two, it seperate different arcs, and parts of arcs, you know it's progressing, you don't get bored.
There were 2 main filler arcs (with a few filler episodes here and there). The openings with the priests, clock hands, and the pyramid were the first main filler arc that's actually mainline canon since the author actually worked on the anime's script (even so far as to be referenced in the manga later). It happens after a time jump (that scroll of characters in front of the windmill were the guildmates after a 7 year time skip). Ya'know how there was an arc that involved an alternate universe? Well the anime decided to show everyone the main universe's counterparts of some characters, notably some of the villains that were defending the castle in the alternate universe (and that rabbit looking girl defected in the AU when she was a news courier). Though they also show up as villains that obviously have no memory connection to the ones in the AU, which is a sticking point to their introduction since the ones in the AU more or less were befriended. The second filler arc was right after the connected tournament and dragon invasion arcs and was purely filler since they were catching up to the mangaka. The second filler.... rather sucks. At best is it can reference the first filler arch more than the manga could get away with, but it's rather bad and the concept was poorly executed. Basically Lucy (the blonde main character) uses summoning magic to bring spirits based on the zodiac (and lesser spirits though they're less used, she uses the top tier ones). After the arc with the dragon involving a time travel gate she used her magic to activate, the writers came up with some bizarre reasoning as to why all her spirits went rogue/evil and completely changed personalities and designs (like RADICALLY different). It's an arc not very well liked.
honestly say what you want about fairy tail but they have some pretty badass female characters. erza, the girl with the red hair is my favorite female character in all of anime till today she is so so cool and one of the the strongest characters of the whole show
Every time u know this is the last battle of the arc us when u hear the bgm starts playing. And u know they've won that battle when they shout "because we're fairytail!" No matter how op the boss is. Still a good show though the story is fine, this is actually the first shonen I've ever watch
Fairy Tail’s amazing, but it’s a power of friendship style anime. Meaning the characters usually overcome obstacles using the power of friendship which some people find annoying. If you don’t like that trope then the shows just not for you
Thats interesting! I don't think I've ever seen an anime like that. I imagine its not for everyone but at the same time it sounds kinda nice and wholesome
I feel like you can say what you want about the overall story writing, but the character writing in Fairy Tail is top tier for me. Every character including a lot of the more background-y characters, has lore and stories that are distinctly different from each other and if not for the story, I would recommend Fairy Tail for the characters. (Ik this video is 4 years old, but if you do wind up watching it I'm sure quite a bit of ppl would be excited, as a person who found your channel through Fruits Basket, it seems the character based shows are the ones that keep me coming back lol. I feel it's about time I subscribe) Edit: "That guy with a mustache" and all his different variations is actually a joke with the character's lore in the story, I hope one day you'll get the joke😂 Edit 2: Also yes it's actually pretty easy to remember the characters dvsjsgsj😂
Fun fact : the short guy in white suit has the same voice actor as aizen from bleach Also , the fairy tail zero opening was about the prequel of the show The manga and anime are over but we got a new manga called fairy tail 100 years quest that might be animated in the future
So basically there is a lot of characters some get full backstory episodes while some explain their motives in some dialogue (mostly villains) The main cast rarely changes with a few additions here and there and actually some of the characters who you'd think should get more screen time as they are "important" to the story get left out
I forgot to mention most villains and characters met in places don't show up again. The ones that stick around/ come back are either Super Important and almost necessary for the plot Someone in the guild they are in or a neighboring guild A villian that wants to get revenge or something along the lines I was rewatching fairy tail the other day and was confused like who is that because at the start there are so many background characters that disappear or become side characters.
I tend to not watch OP reactions when people already seem the show. I dont like to realy just, "hey look how much we like this songs on the shows we already like". But when u go bling on OPs of anime u never watched? Hell yeah.
For the girl who asked if we recognize each character... yes we do XDD I mean, I haven't seen Fairy Tail in 2... 3 years? And I can easily name 20 characters, I imagine those in the fandom can name most characters (?
There like a hand full of main characters (i use main loosely for this show), but yeah names are easy to remember even for the non mains but you dont need to learn everyone xD

Yeah the anime had some pace issues but when we learn to love the characthers I think is fine, but the story and manga is the greatest
AnimeCrazyMan nicely said
One Piece might not be the best anime and the manga readers criticize it super openly, but no one can argue against the fact that One Piece is the best manga out there. It's a masterpiece and Oda hasn't fallen into any of the traps shows like Fairy Tail, or Shokugeki No Soma fell into. Especially the power scaling is clearly shown, even in the current arc with around 1000 chapters already.
That guy with a mustache transcended beyond anime videos a long time ago
Well...
@@Just_Some_Guy_with_a_Mustache okay, now you're scaring me
Starting from like 55:30... are you straight up mocking this? Because this is Fairy Tails most serious arc, you had plenty of time to mock, its too late
the fact that they were incapable of comprehending the large mass of characters just amused me to an amazing level and I dont know why. it was pretty easy for me to remember all the characters when i was watching Fairy Tail but after i finished the series they all just slipped out of my memories.
“It’s a mix of cute girls being cute, and guys being badass.”
How can you get any better than that?
It’s cause fairy tail has a lot of arcs and each of them going through a different “problem” or conflict. So there’s new characters introduced and there’s some that go and obviously the main characters that stay throughout the whole show. But the arcs last for a good amount of time and some characters appear multiple times in different arcs as well. So the whole character memorization thing, Unless they’re really irrelevant, remembering names shouldn’t be a problem...lol
The main characters I would say are Natsu and Lucy (the pink haired guy and the blond girl that show up a lot) but some would say the main characters is Fairy Tail itself (fairy tail as in the guild they’re in, theyre wizards. The tattoo they have represents their guild. different characters might have different tattoos because they’re in a different guild)
Keeping up with who the characters are and seeing them after dozens of episodes, after they developed is one of the best things about this show.
My favorite Openings are:
1. Believe in Myself (op 21)
2. Down by law (op 24)
3. Strike back (op 16)
4. No-Limit (op 25)
5. Break Out (op 18)
fairy tails its wierd but still love it omg its that kind of show
Yeah some shows are just like that!
26:56 Nah, he was definitely implying "This ain't my first time, I like it ROUGH" 😂
56:09 I love seeing them trying to guess what's happening haha it reminds me back when i was watching Fairy Tail.
Hunter x Hunter is the only anime that I would recommend to watch the endings instead the openings, have the bests endings ever 😂
Carson loves hunterxhunter. We will probably replace naruto with it after we finish.
BOLDcast but have you both not watched it or its gonna be semi blind like naruto? It would be nice if we could see a reaction that carao has not watched the show for change. Anyways its gonna take a minuto to finish naruto so thats another day talk
@@vzgamer5738 if he loves Hunter x Hunter then he have watched right? But I agree, I would love to see their blind reactions to One Piece.
And their channel would growing way more cuz OP have the most solid and bigger fanbase along with Naruto.
@@Shurororu but to truly experience One Piece at its best, I would rather they read the manga. The anime is unbearably slow, but then thats the same as Naruto so I don't know.
@@vaibhavmukherjee9830 yea its really slow but we have the One Pace, with that they can watch and have a way better experience
Its actually very easy to remember the characters. The Anime introduces the character to us like how we get to someone in real life. Like how it works in real life, it is the same in FT. Legit.
It is the first anime in which I remember every character's name.
@@Yooloocooo real!
Love fairy tail!! After all its the anime that made me love anime soo much!!
30:40 that’s pretty much accurate, they had their own mission 😂😂😂
It is easy to remember them... well for me anyway
fairy tail is kinda lower quality but it is very entertaining and has some great moments
(kind of like Nami from One Piece)
With Fairy Tail you know you're signing up for stupid powerups, fanservice, very many characters that aren't too in-depth but you still get impactful scenes if you don't think too critically of the events and accept it for what it is. It has a lot of moments that could've been a lot better, but it gets hype done right. Even with all that said I wouldn't recommend it unless someone is really needing their dose of shounen but has watched the other big ones, even though this is vastly different in terms of core themes.
50:14lmaooo you said “whoa!” together like a true couple😂✊🏽
I'm 4 years late to this reaction but it brings me a so much joy seeing people experiencing this anime for the first time
I'm glad you uploaded a 1 hour video 👏
We’re glad you’re glad! And we hope you like it!
@@BOLDcast I like it already 😆
57:11 to clarify, the 2nd series is officially called Fairy Tail Zero and tells the story of the founding of Fairy Tail by its 1st Master, Mavis Vermilion
1:14:28 the Whole show Fairy Tail is a Fun watch and we Fairy Tail fans grew up with it (that's explains why we love it soo much)
It has happy moment, sad moments, and hype moments, alot of tragic moments but the best part is how they all as a Guild as a Family overcome those sad tragic difficulties and grow together and turn it into happy moments
Honestly, I would LOVE to see you watch Fairy Tail, I'm sure I would enjoy your reactions since you always notice so many things and I love your videos, I'm trying to binge healthily haha!
React to a certain magical index ops
The show is also really great. The synopsis doesn't do it justice.
It is the first of 3 intertwined series along with certain scientific railgun and certain magical accelerator.
Hopefully u react to it in the future
Really underrated overseas but it's pretty famous in japan
We’ll put it on the list, thanks man!
@@BOLDcast I would also suggest that u guys watch haikyuu first rather than my hero academia as they are almost similar popularity wise and I think u will have more discussions for haikyuu as it is rather deep show
@@BOLDcast certain scientific railgun new op coming soon, wait for it
I always felt the anime was underwhelming. They did the light novel source material dirty. and the third season u can tell the anime studio did not give a single fuck for it. Shit was so fast-paced and animation went down compared to the original. S1 and S2 weren't bad though.
Railgun though is a pretty solid anime show.
@@harshiramani7274 Haikyuu as popular as MHA? Nah, dont think that is true at all....
39:12 trust me, watching it will get easier, some characters aren’t knew, it’s because of the time skip after op 10 as for why some of them didn’t age, watch to find out
1st comment!
Edited:
By the way, I love the idea that you guys reacted to Fairy Tail opennings!
Also highly appreciated your efforts for this reaction!
Thank you so much!
One of the best anime ever you will definitely remember all the characters byheart it's all about friendship and adventure they all are in a magic guild called fairy tail
REALLY glad I finally watched a reaction where someone appreciates the bass line in Down By Law, shits SICK
18:27
It has nothing to do with abilities.
That tattoo is actualy a Guild mark, wizzards go in guilds to do jobs etc. and every guild has an own mark that every person of that guild wears.
Fairy tail is amazing anime I don't care if poeple hate it for whatever it'll be my favourite.
17:35 The beggining of opening 6 looks a lot like brazilian samba
No matter what anyone says, Fairy Tail will always be a favorite of mine.
It's about magic, dragons & boobs! How can you not like this?
14:14 Just a man with a mustache I’ve seen him everywhere😂😂😂
Fairy tail was the first anime I’ve watched and it’s great! And yes, the characters are easier to remember if you watch the show lol
You guys definitely have made my favorite reactions to this anime’s openings! You guys are very funny, much love!
Who else was waiting for Rock City Boy and Karseat's reaction to that? Lol
Bringing out the livestream memes I see...
Pfft love seeing this comment again. I'm rewatching this cuz I wanted to see your reactions to the series again lol
As the story goes you eventually know all the characters
Just so you know, yes, most of us remember 99% of all these characters and could name you at least one scene they liked of said character.
Even the background ones.
Metoo
Fairytail is one of my favourite anime.. ❤ point , blank period… its life changing tho the soundtrack and the story 😘😘
W reactors, always exerting effort even 3 years ago
It is very easy to remember the fairy tail characters beacuse some of there name are not so Japanese like erza's and Lucy's and angel's name is english so it actually really easy you even will remember happy's and Carla's name because it's english there the cats by the way
If you are watching an long running anime series and almost remember any of their names and and personalities its a sign that you are into the said anime
I'm curious if you'll start some of the new anime's coming out this season. Awesome reaction by the way.
*ECSTASY WITH EXTRA CHEESE*
Nice reaction. React to fairy tail all endings.
On the list!
BOLDcast cool bet
All I heard was “we put the effort to” and I subbed
Plot twist the fairy was blind and trying to find its way back to Earth
28:22 Zeref in a nutshell lmao
Fairy Tail is the only anime that has shit ton of characters and story depths, but never make us feel heavy and confused.
Hey guys, diff topic here, I'm just wondering if you have ever watched "Angel Beats!: Another Epilogue" which is a 2-3 min single episode that gives hints/clues to the lore of the story more.
Yes we actually did watch it! We also watched the two ovas for patreon and really enjoyed them.
I like Fairy Tail having many OP. One, it doesn't bore us. Two, it seperate different arcs, and parts of arcs, you know it's progressing, you don't get bored.
I'm just trusting the patreon members to suggest Gintama openings since I can't do it myself bc I'm broke lol
The creator of Fairy Tail just got another one of his series confirmed for an anime.
Thanks for your awesomeness!!
the show is really amazing , there funny ,sad and good animation and sound quality
honestly say what you want about fairy tail but they have some pretty badass female characters. erza, the girl with the red hair is my favorite female character in all of anime till today she is so so cool and one of the the strongest characters of the whole show
Every time u know this is the last battle of the arc us when u hear the bgm starts playing.
BOLDcast if you’re looking for something that’s light hearted wholesome and funny then I would definitely recommend it
That guy with a moustache and all of his other family memeber's is like the legend 27 (IYKYK)
I feel it's about time I subscribe)
Edit: "That guy with a mustache" and all his different variations is actually a joke with the character's lore in the story, I hope one day you'll get the joke😂
Edit 2: Also yes it's actually pretty easy to remember the characters dvsjsgsj😂
I loved your honest reaction :)
Fun fact : the short guy in white suit has the same voice actor as aizen from bleach
Also , the fairy tail zero opening was about the prequel of the show
The manga and anime are over but we got a new manga called fairy tail 100 years quest that might be animated in the future
The ones that stick around/ come back are either
Super Important and almost necessary for the plot
Someone in the guild they are in or a neighboring guild
A villian that wants to get revenge or something along the lines
I was rewatching fairy tail the other day and was confused like who is that because at the start there are so many background characters that disappear or become side characters.
Masayume chasing is soooo good glad they liked it
I tend to not watch OP reactions when people already seem the show.
I dont like to realy just, "hey look how much we like this songs on the shows we already like".
But when u go bling on OPs of anime u never watched? Hell yeah.
For the girl who asked if we recognize each character... yes we do XDD
I mean, I haven't seen Fairy Tail in 2... 3 years? And I can easily name 20 characters, I imagine those in the fandom can name most characters (?
There like a hand full of main characters (i use main loosely for this show), but yeah names are easy to remember even for the non mains but you dont need to learn everyone xD
Sad Fact: The flutist from OP 1 & 3 passed away not long after 3 was released
Fairy Tail is amazing! If you watch the show you wont be dissapointed.
In opening 7 and 8 they gone to World of Edolas from anime RAVE Adventure
this is the longest fairy tail openings reaction I've ever seen 😆🤣
