I’m 100% p&T but I need aid and attendance. I’m just nervous to file. I have Ms, low back, anxiety depression insomnia sleep apnea plus more. But I really need it because I could no survive without my wife. She does everything on top of work
Pain in my feet 🦶🏻 hurt so bad sometimes, I have to take off my shoes 👟 & sock 🧦 to relieve the pain. Toxic infection ate through to the bone. Now it tangles and burns 🥵 feeling.
After my brain surgery I have a LPN coming in twice a month to set up medications and a care person once a week for three hours to do household chores. Is that what this it is? Also I am 100% Unemployable for bipolar.
I am often confused with this portion. As I have memory issues. My wife organizes my Medications and And she is my reminder to do daily tasks. So I'm not really certain how this works.
how about, aside from all these situation I need that same person to drive me around just to get out of the house to keep my sanity. does this also qualify for A/A
How do our providers learn this and be able to fill out the forms for us? My PCM at the VA knows nothing and is waiting for a physical evaluation when I have severe mental limits. Can you please advise. Who do I talk to to teach my PCM wth to do because she’s literally not even hearing me.
Your description of what is required medically to qualify for the aid an attendance benefit is very good. However, I have found that there is a lot of misunderstanding and even out right miss information about what this benefit is, and you contribute to that in this video. I just qualified for the full aid and attendance benefit from the VA, and this is what I found out: This benefit is an upgrade from what is called The special monthly pension (SMP.) It does NOT require that you be qualified for a VA disability at any level. That would be the benefit that is called special monthly compensation (SMC.) I do not have a VA disability rating and I qualified for the full VA pension with aid and attendance. There are other very bad instances of misinformation bout this, such as that it is a reimbursement program for medical expenses which is totally FALSE! Again, I qualified for this benefit without claiming any medical expenses. The aid and attendance upgrade to the special monthly pension is simply a higher level of monthly payment to the veteran. It is a shame that's so much misunderstanding and misinformation is being put out there because this means that many veterans are loosing out on what they are entitled to. I am sorry to say that your video contributes to the confusion that veterans experience About this benefit. I know that I am right about this because I went through the entire process to the level of success and I had to fight for clear and accurate information all the way. That wasn't easy, and you are just contributing to the confusion.

I agree, it is very confusing. But there is aid and attendance pension is totally different program. And there is aid and attendance, special monthly compensation for disabled veterans. I know special monthly compensation for disabled veterans has 2 different compensation levels. These ladies are talking about SMC aid and attendance. Not pension aid in attendance.
I agree with you 100%. I "ve been watching so many videos including one made by lawyers, I found out there is so much conflicting information. They should fully comprehend before putting out any information. Thank you for your clarification!

Is A&A for veterans, veterans' spouse or both?

I'm 100% ptsd plus Parkinson the VA said I'm not qualified for a t because I'm not bed ridin?
That what they told me too,
@@thomasc7119 You do not have to be bed ridden. If you need the assistance of someone else for your daily care you qualify.
talk to VA social worker.
Can you work from home if you are 100% P&T with SMC L1/2 with Aid & Attendace ?
Thanks for sharing
Great video! 👍
Must you have served during wartime? I see that half the time a search and the other half says you do not.
you have to have served doing war even if you were not in combat, combat is not a requirement.

Unfortunately that's often the case. It took me about 6yrs to finally get a VA primary care provider to fill out the paperwork.
See the patient advocate at your VA
Does that money go to someone else or veteran? Say he able to be his one attendance?
Own
Do you have to request which SMC category you are requesting or is that determined by the VA when reviewing the medical evidence, buddy statements etc.
The VA will determine that based on what you qualify for..
@@Phil83933 thanks for the info
My back hurts so bad the pain go down my legs . It hurts to bend
My wife controls my medication due to suicide attempts. Would I qualify for aid and attendance?
call va social worker!
Who qualify ?
Would this be possible with having caregiver compensation
I've heard from another video, it is possible.
Wow, attorney Allison R looks slimmer.
