Dan is honestly the best barber on youtube hands down. Every step of his work contains some sort of a reasoning behind it. No bullshit, just pure intelligence.
Can I just say thanks for this Dan, I’m Asian and I always have a tough time getting the exact haircut I want even with photos (asian models) to the point where Ive had a barber say Asian hair is so very difficult that people don’t like or are intimidated by cutting asian hair and even pass it off to some else lol. So I appreciate you going in-depth on some of the problems some hairdressers have with our hair type.

Yes, it's similar some hair you see from Latin people. The hair does not lay down until it's long so you are much more limited in what you can do. A barbers worst nightmare is an Asian kid coming in with a picture of Brad Pitt and asking for that cut.

I have straight thick asian hair as well and the problem with a cut like this is that it will grown out in 3 weeks and the hair grows out horizontally and not straight down. That’s why lots of asians have the top disconnected, or a 2-block cut
