Первый птенец обязательно клюет младших и если в гнезде три птенца то участь самого младшего печально. Его заклюют до смерти. Родители орланы не вмешиваются в эти разборки. И никогда не убьют своего птенца. А вот аисты убивают с жестокостью.Я из Гугла ничего не взяла Я просто уже четыре года смотрю эфиры из гнезд орланов ,скоп и аистов. Но в этом году я аистов не смотрела ,зная что для одного из птенцов или двух убьют. И не надо меня называть бабушкой. Доживи сам до этого возраста. Я счастлива что мне уж много лет. There’s no point in sugar coating or anthropomorphizing animals, they’re fascinating and beautiful exactly as they are. There’s a huge community of bald eagle nest cam watchers who are constantly misunderstanding the eagle’s behavior; they get distraught over things like sibling rivalry and when the parents don’t intervene to stop it. Always expecting them to behave like human parents would; it’s ridiculous! 😡

That. Was. Beyond. Brutal. I’m no expert, but this did not look like a normal killing. In the ones I’ve seen, the stork acts like it’s simply taking care of business, not violently attacking for days. Even if the storklet wasn’t well or whatever it is with storks, the brutality seems beyond the pale. All the stork needed to do was throw it over the side, not attack it for days on end.
It lasted longer just because the chick was bigger than the average for this reduction operation. The bird doesn't have the logical abilities to understand it just needs to toss it out of the nest. It just has instincts telling it the weak one must be neutralized, and it will go on and on until the instinct is satisfied.

Так она и нашла.😅 Аисты могут жрать своих же детей. Она его придушит, а братья сожрут. Это прекрасный показ отбора. Мать видит, что птенец меньше братьев, значит слабый, значит идёт в расход. Белые аисты чаще выкидывают из гнезда детей, а черные их съедают.
This brutal behavior may have the hidden idea. The weakest bird, which significantly differs from the others, may be sick/infected by worms/etc. And without medical help, the only way to save the others, is to eliminate it from the nest 🙁. Sad but true.
It might be that the storklet hatched a few days later and wasn’t able to fight for food with other siblings, who got 2 or 3 times bigger than it. Bad luck.

It was horrible to see! I was thinking if there is something wrong with the parent… first time parenting and not knowing how to do things? What sense does it has to torture the chick? I mean, I know birds have instincts and do not have feelings in the same way as we have, but if it decides to get rid of it, there is no point in attacking it viciously? The only think I can imagine is that the parent doesn’t know how to do it well, and it is “practicing” as little cats do with mouses.

It's not really about not allowing to breed. If the parent stork had enough time the runt would be just as strong as the rest of the storklets. But the time is limited, so the parent is not going to wait till the runt grows when it can make the 3 other storklets grow faster instead.
It was so sad how the other 3 chicks completely turned away from the brutality that the mother was showing the smaller chick. They looked like they couldn't stand to see it because they could be next. Mom has gone off her meds again, guys!
That weakling stocklet had "kill me" written all over it. Regarding the brutality, maybe sometimes the mothers are disgusted by the weakness of the runt and want to get rid of their "embarrassing mistake".

Behauptungen ohne Faktenkenntnis aufzustellen braucht kein Mensch. Dass es nicht mehr viele Störche gäbe ist völliger Unsinn. Das Gegenteil ist richtig. Gegenüber den 80er Jahren hat sich der Bestand inzw. mehr als vervierfacht. Insbesondere die Westzieher haben enorme Zuwäche, viele Jahrzehnte unbesetzte Horste werden wieder genutzt. Die Bestandsentwicklung des Weißstorchs in Deutschland ist also eine Erfolgsgeschichte!
I think the part from 10:45 til 12:35 is pretty sad. The chick's head is going side to side during that time, as it was seriously injured by the adult and has brain damage. I think it might also be blinded by the attacks. These birds are pretty tough and not easy to kill and are known for their ability to take a serious beating and walk away from it.

Did she hurt the other one aswell cuz it seemed to have trouble standing? Either way I've seen a lot of stork parents do this but this one really took it's time. Wish she just threw it out of the nest already to end the suffering.
No she never touched any of the others. 3 days of torture she imposed upon this little one. I had over 2 hours of footage. I edited it and tried to keep it as short as I could without making a mess of it.
It's easy to mix these videos up, but I thought this nest had 5 chicks hatched and that #5 died naturally and was tossed out. This chick was at a size.age where you don't see the parent execute them like this one did. I'm all for the course of nature to handle this, but I really felt bad for this chick who was, basically, tortured to death.

This happens in nests all the time but cameras don't see it....brutal though it is, we are watching natural instincts, I agree sad to watch it though. There could be all kinds of reasons this adult killed its young...but 4 days torture is hard to watch!!!
He seems to be ill. He is weak and has difficulty moving from the start, and his black and white colors aren't as clean as the others. I think she fed him until he was too big for her to lift with her beak, but she doesn't realize that. She now realizes that he's ill and she has an instinct to push him out of the nest so he can't infect her other infants. However, instead of using her beak to push him over the edge of the nest, she keeps trying to pick him up with her beak.
I haven't seen such a large one being "dealt with" so far. Usually the parent breaks the chick's neck by picking it up by the neck and shaking and twisting. Only then either eats it or throws it out of the nest.

That happened a year ago 14.6.2021 in the Czech Republic in town Osek u Rokycan? It was very drastic, but the old stork had a head injury. Maybe that's why he acted like that. The cub fought for its life for three days.
The worst I had ever seen. I had hours upon hours of recordings from last June. The little one got sick after some rain I do believe, then when it got better the parent Stork was all of a sudden against it. Probably the toughest storklet I have ever seen.

I think these birds just have a little violent streak in them period. I use to think they tried to overthrow the weak or sick but not 100% sure.
Just when you think they are dead, they move again. Sad.
The parent stork witnessed the same thing happen to its smallest sibling. Runts can’t be allowed to breed. Keeps the species strong.

I think the part from 10:45 til 12:35 is pretty sad. The chick's head is going side to side during that time, as it was seriously injured by the adult and has brain damage. I think it might also be blinded by the attacks. These birds are pretty tough and not easy to kill and are known for their ability to take a serious beating and walk away from it.

It's a shame these birds are bigger but this still considered babies and they can't help themselves I have seen a mother and a father devour 4 Birds and there was nothing wrong with them

Did she hurt the other one aswell cuz it seemed to have trouble standing? Either way I've seen a lot of stork parents do this but this one really took it's time. Wish she just threw it out of the nest already to end the suffering.
No she never touched any of the others. 3 days of torture she imposed upon this little one. I had over 2 hours of footage. I edited it and tried to keep it as short as I could without making a mess of it.

It's easy to mix these videos up, but I thought this nest had 5 chicks hatched and that #5 died naturally and was tossed out. This chick was at a size.age where you don't see the parent execute them like this one did. I'm all for the course of nature to handle this, but I really felt bad for this chick who was, basically, tortured to death.

This happens in nests all the time but cameras don't see it....brutal though it is, we are watching natural instincts, I agree sad to watch it though. There could be all kinds of reasons this adult killed its young...but 4 days torture is hard to watch!!!

He seems to be ill. He is weak and has difficulty moving from the start, and his black and white colors aren't as clean as the others. I think she fed him until he was too big for her to lift with her beak, but she doesn't realize that. She now realizes that he's ill and she has an instinct to push him out of the nest so he can't infect her other infants. However, instead of using her beak to push him over the edge of the nest, she keeps trying to pick him up with her beak.
I haven't seen such a large one being "dealt with" so far. Usually the parent breaks the chick's neck by picking it up by the neck and shaking and twisting. Only then either eats it or throws it out of the nest.

That happened a year ago 14.6.2021 in the Czech Republic in town Osek u Rokycan? It was very drastic, but the old stork had a head injury. Maybe that's why he acted like that. The cub fought for its life for three days.
The worst I had ever seen. I had hours upon hours of recordings from last June. The little one got sick after some rain I do believe, then when it got better the parent Stork was all of a sudden against it. Probably the toughest storklet I have ever seen.
Oh but I do believe it started June 22 and ended 26th So more like 4 days of torture.
@@space.invaders I watched it live because I hoped that the rescuers would help him-. I wrote them an email on June 14. 2021.The mother stork was behaving strangely, not feeding the young, hiding behind the chimney. It was suspected that she had a head injury.-
