@@Eagle_Goddess I've been watching several eagle cams (Harriet went missing, then Obey...very sad situations all over... I saw last season and cried.😢 DH15 literally had to be smart and try to stay alive by eating what little scraps were left. I did notice that DH15 was more wise and had better survival skills. 🙏 This seemed like the little could have been fed more with 2 parents around...😢

This was a very sad turn of events on this nest. A Combination of things added to the sad downfall of D16!!. Having watching closely now we have to be thankful that D15 has sercomb the fears and both chicks are now in a good place mentally and physically!!.. Sweet 16 May you soar high And RIP.. you stole my heart like one and will always be in my heart😥🙏🦅🌹🌻 Thankyou Amanda777.. ❣💕💞

Its amazing how long that small one survived. Even the 2nd biggest is getting the brunt of the oldest’s attacks!
Everyone should be SENSITIVE to this I'll never understand why people who do eagle channels expect HUMANS to not be HUMAN and feel as we do. We will always FEEL it's our species. Doesn't mean we don't understand that animals aren't the same... Processing emotions it's extremely important for our species and should be taught to our children that FEELING is good. I wish you people would stop trying to tell people not to feel when seeing things like this. It's inevitable or you may have something wrong with you tbh.
Humans have feelings and some animals don't. I will try my best to be rational. After all, This is cruel nature.

It's gentle to look at the baby eagles in other nests. This nest is a bit fierce
The hyper-aggression is disgusting, the parents made no effort to brood, much less feed, any eaglet other than the first hatch. No male this year but the female displays the same disregard for the other chicks.
What world do you live in? This is nature this isnt human civilization. Wake up. You're trying to put human societal values and morals on fkn wild animals and nature.

Were the chicks starving is that why this happened. This dominate one is just going after the smallest and also the next chick. I know it is nature, but what helped caused this?

@charismausa I'm not sure how to respond, as humans we try to justify or rationalize the hurtful, mean and cruel actions of others that will give us some sort of peace, understanding or explanation for the behavior so that we can forgive, move on or accept it and adapt. At least this ismy opinion and thoughts. However, I am curious abt one thing, ur perspective is. Ur siblings perspective of the situation. I'm only saying bcuz I use to play wrestling with my sister when we were growing up and I'm like 4 yrs older, I saw it as fun and playing with her but years later, I found out that she saw it as I was beating her up and she was scared. I was horrified when she told me this bcuz I did not see it that way.
Either way, I hope no serious physical or mental scars were inflicted. 😊

Hmmm. It is a wonder why chickens and ducks will fight for each one of their chicks and ducklings' survival while eagles do not have that same instinct. It was sad watching the parent bird not separate the aggressive older chick from the rest of the brood. This eagle sibling rivalry has been happening for centuries-and obviously has not killed off eagles.
I can see how bad nest this was, the mom didnt get enough food and didnt care about them killing each other im pretty sure this old chick killed many others before cause of no food it will grow to be 100% cannibal this is failed nest, all normal eagle nest ends with 3 chicks from 2 dead not from their sbling at least this was a bad nest.

The 3rd baby is very weak because ever had a chance to eat for food only the strongest one mostly get the food, I’ve seen over and over and I make a comment before saying without the help of human this baby will die ,😢😢 rip my little one
I’m not blaming anyone but to see this over and over it breaks my heart that human kindness should interfere to save the life of this baby until old enough to release in the wild , otherwise this will happen for our national bird over and over due of sibling rivalry for food. Within 3 days that eaglets don’t have a food and can be fatal for them, human should try to save them , rather than keep watching but no one try to help, even at least a little bet
@@MegaCeledonia I started watching eagle cams about 15 years ago & that became my thoughts also. If you're going to put a cam up & expect people to watch & sometimes donate. We as humans usually are taught at a young age to help & protect all living beings. Not fall in love with the little life then sit back & do nothing to see it starve, get tortured & killed.

Is it reallly necessary to replay this horrible attack that happened weeks ago? We know that 15 is surviving and stands up for itself now and have put this event of nature behind us. I look forward to seeing sweet 15 thrive and eventually fledge.
It's necessary. Don't watch it. If watching it bothers you you're in good company. 16 no longer suffers and hopefully 14 and 15 are still successfully maturing in the rural scapes of Tennessee.
@@chrysology Why is it necessary to post? I didn't watch and have not interest in it. I know what happen. I don't need to see it. Everybody knows that nature can be, and often is, harsh. That is where the phrase "survival of the fittest" came from. And that is probably why the parents don't interfere. Many species ignore, or even attack, weaker members. It is their way of keeping the species as a whole strong. But what good can come from posting this?

Dude…welcome to a month ago for Pete sakes. Let it go already. 🤦🏻♂️🙄 There was an extreme food shortage for 2-3 days or so and the parents were also dealing with intruders, and acting like non existent parents. So nature took its course and the big one has to eat first and the little chick was killed. She almost did that to the other one as well.
If they'd done that, the rest of us who haven't seen what happened won't get a chance to see!
Although I love quite a few birds, most are disgusting honestly. This is why there will never be a bird civilization. Altruism is the best survival mechanism, which is why homo sapiens rule the planet. Richard Dawkins was correct in his book The Selfish Gene.

@@Darknlovelyone85 oh don't get me wrong, humans are the most dangerous animal on earth. But most of us, irregardless of societies , are relatively altruistic compared to most non-mammals. Apes, dogs, cats, and especially elephants, dolphins, whales and orcas, are nearly as intelligent as we are and also altruistic. But they can also be monstrous when they need to be, albeit probably unconscious of the concept, for instant gorrilas form war bands to take on a neighboring troop, which is yet another indication of where our ancestry came from.
