Here's a funny confession, my husband is a retired small time builder contractor. He loves watching your channel with his early morning coffee, he loves learning about the technicality of a cut. He is more used to just grabbing lumber from a stack & go, which means good or bad, lumber is going in place. Now that he is semi retired he is more selective about lumber, he purchased his starter mill. He uses more fuel than the lumber he produces for his projects around the property & house, you wanna talk about weird, he rants about how well he cut a particular log and made it into building lumber. He will stand there with his cup and look at a log for minutes before he cuts, then stops looks again, well you know the drill.
If your husband is a building contractor, when I start building something, he might see that as a comedy show. It might be more laughing than learning for him. 😁
@@WilsonForestLands I am sure you are skilled at what you do, he does not doubt it. Your humbleness and expertise shows your caliber as a craftsman. My husband does not watch know it all's & hacks. You are definitely very far from that.
Great stuff! Fellow sawmill dude and southern Oregonian. I just discovered your channel and am taking a journey thru your past videos. Informative and entertaining. Thanks for a great channel!
I love ole Yosemite sam.. him and bugs had some classic battles 🎉 looking forward to some more vids on rigging. Thanks for humbolt vid i tell you should start a school with all your knowledge. rigging and square filing chains alone would make it a valuable experience.
I love life, to a fault. I love life so much that I'd end it all, just to stop suffering. But that's just me, turning into a James bond villian. With that said, these tree killing larvae fall under the tick and mosquito catagory for me. I lose no sleep over their unrelenting destruction, except for my bias. Life sure can get weird.
That darned "glowy-thing" seems to be in cahoots with the sound and camera guys. Always lettin' you down in the production phase of these videos. I think a stern talking-to is warranted. Enjoying the content and another likeroo. Cheers from a frosty Linn County.
Have you ever had problems with the rail after rolling big logs over them? Woodmizer tells me that's why they don't sell log ramps for the lt15 wide, because that would void the warranty. I figured I would just build some that sat over the top of the rail, but I'd have to take them off and put them back between every log.
Sometimes I have had the bed segments misalign some if I put a lot of weight on them. That’s partly because the feet are not evenly supported because they don’t turn and adjust any more. And on the LT 15 start, only one side of the bed rails are pinned together, the other side are just held by frictions of bolts pulling them together.
We have the same problem here in Indiana. I’ve built several sheds and lean to’s within 200 square feet on my property just so big brother will stay out of my business.
In the subject of government, if you take a look at the folks just within a growing city. It appears that these city officials create a job position to spread their tentacles to encroach on someone's simple lifestyles. Most of these folks that are employees of such positions appear to be non physical people or people that no longer want to work physically. So in turn what they once were, now they are against them because they are no longer doing it and their job happens to be real simple but pays fairly decently, kinda like free money. I have seen this from town to town, city to city. We are in the southeast no restrictions in many areas YET, but it is closing in.
Out here a lot of people are moving to places where there aren’t many restrictions. Before long they bring in all the people that make all the restrictions. it seems to be moving into every corner now.
Sometimes I wish I can remember what happened in my own videos or what I said in my own videos so I can know what people are commenting about. 😂 But when it comes to government, that’s about all you can say sometimes. So well said. 😁
What if someone tried to put a toxic waste dump next to your property? Then you might change your mind about the government minding someone else's business.
My comments were intended to be satire for entertainment purposes, especially as it eventually got to the level of Yosemite Sam. If we were to get serious about it, your point is valid.
Another valid point in some cases. The world is full of gray areas. Some aspects of government can be useful when we need them. Other aspects of government are completely ridiculous.
To be continued....same saw mill time same saw mill channel 😊
Yes, except for the time. My time tends to be less consistent and more random. 😁

Heh, most of us watching fall into the same category and with the same habits you describe.
It's a syndrome. (But, a good 'un.)

Nice boards out if a questionable log..😁👍
I like when it works out that way.
Yay a feild trip !!
Good video, like that mill
Nicely done on isolating the pitch pocket and pith/crack.
👍
you inspired me to look at the LT15 a few weeks ago, 8,500$ for the basic 10,500$ this morning. givin themselves a little extra christmas money
Wow I think I paid around 6k. That included a bed extension, shipping, and a box of 15 blades.
that's the range i was hoping for, maybe knock the dust off my Alaskan mill@@WilsonForestLands
There is a reason "they" work for the government!! Hope for the best my plan for everything!! Enjoyed!
Sometimes hope for the best works better than planning for the plan.

Thanks for the video, I love your thought process, have a great day!

At least you got some good lumber out of them logs. One problem. You sent the rain my way
Oops, I didn’t mean to send the rain that way, go ahead and send it back. I do take returns on rain.
@@WilsonForestLands that's ok. We need it

Does the lt15 accommodate a bark biter?
I hate to tell you this but 16x14 = 224 sq feet. Your fellow Oregonian, The Oregon Old TImer, is praying for less rain.
Oops, that was supposed to be 12x16. I was debating and going back and forth between that and 14x14.
Aww, what's a few extra square feet 'mongst friends?!?@@WilsonForestLands

Thankfully, I’ve only had to deal with the Government inspectors a couple times. I heard you! frustration and then some.
I already had plenty of that getting the septic system in. The rest of the plan is to keep it exempt from government inspectors.

Great video , why don’t you use some of that “questionable lumber” to build a roof over your mill? Keep up the good content !!
Funny you ask, I just started recording a video today about that very subject. 😁 Partly because I don’t plan on having the mill there permanently.
"Doomed, I tell you! Doomed!"
You said it better than I did.
Rude logs and great content videos. Hot Dog!😂
Thank you for the comment, but now I want a hotdog. 😁
I’sent 16x14 come to 224 square feet?
I meant to say 16 x 12. Someone else caught me on that too. The logs were originally cut when I was planning on doing 14 x 14.

Except the government would likely approve it when the companies looking to dump that waste pay them enough.
