  • Just a quick review of the ammo can panniers, and Dirtracks luggage racks that installed last week. My affordable alternative.

Those look great. Been thinking about putting some 40mmcans on my dr 200. Nice straightforward video too. Good luck with them.

Thank you. They work quite well. Nice and deep hold allot. Could be a little on the heavy side, but are super functional. Thank you for watching.

Cool look on those, seem tough as nails for riding trails, brush scrapes and even bike protection. #support right on.

Yeah i agree. I even figure if I do puncture them somehow they are steel, i can weld them.

I have the powder coated ones.. But I have plastic boxes on the sides instead of the metal cans. The dirt tracks racks are pretty good quality, and great for what you pay. 👍

After I did all the extra work and had to buy the paint and primer and acetone to wash any oils and grease off of them so the paint would stick. It would have been about the same price if i went with the powder coated ones. The pelican cases look very nice as well, and are probably allot lighter. Yeah they are well built racks and look nice.

Well done! I almost went that route! I have one of those ammo cans (use it for tiedowns, etc for the trailer), but I figured I could buy another one and get that done on the cheap! But....I scrounged until I had some $ for the Tusk boxes. I've always liked the military "look", probably because I've spent close to 50 years of my life in and around the military..lol

I like the look of them as well. The tusk boxes look amazing as well though. I was actually going to try and build my own racks, and probably to it even cheaper, but I probably would have gotten super frustrated and gave the idea up all togeather. Saw Ben's video on the dirtracks crashbars, and checked them out. I wanted to join the army cadets when i was younger, but my mom would have anything to do with that idea.

I had a pair of Dirtracks(.com) side racks on my last dual sport, a CRF250L, and liked them well. I went ghetto on boxes, Ridgid 22 inch "tool organizers" ($30 each at The Home Depot), LOL! Great review and video :)

Cool. The options are endless. Didn't even think of something like that. They were probably allot more lighter than the ammo cans.

I saw them on a forum where somebody had done that to a DRZ400 (or I never woulda thought of it, LOL), they were pretty light yes. They were waterproof at the beginning, bt after smacking/dragging them on a few trees or rocks on trail they weren't so waterproof (knocked the lid off kilt just enough to leak, but not to be able ot see it much), LOL :p

Hey Truckman!!! I bought some Dirtracks.com from Canada...send them to Vacaville and my friend later bring them to Costa Rica... I installed 20MM Ammo Cans

Cool👍 so you have the blue bike in your video then? I am not sure it the cans are actually 20mm or 40mm, the guy at the surplus store said they where 35mm can, but they have the dimensions of the 40mm online. They will definitely do the job that i intend them to do.. Thank you for watching.

The funny thing is...I didn't even notice it till I got home and the wife pointed it out.. If I would have noticed it I would have picked it up.. I hate it when people litter.
