I'd love to see the 1K review on this; also some comparison of this and the older Shield Plus PC with the comp--I wonder if there's a difference between the two. Thanks!
No adapter plates is no bueno but I’m waiting on my DPP titanium plate so I can roll with my 507k. Put 300 rounds through it this morning. 1 failure to feed which I’m not used to with S&W but I was shooting one-handed at the time so maybe it was me. Great shooter. Nice review.
What about a side by side comparison to the shield plus performance center that is ported with one hole on each side of the barrel versus this new shield plus performance center with the big chunk port in the end! I have the shield plus performance center and I love this gun and I’m sure I would love that gun as well! As well as maybe the comparison to the 2.0 M&P 4 inch to the new 2.0 M&P compensated!
I do realize that comps are more common on the newer models of pistols Nowadays. My only problem with them is They heat up a fast and the splash from the comp is something u need to pay attention too.
@bigbossoooo that is incredibly odd. Generally they run cooler because technically more gas is escaping on the muzzle end and dissipating at a higher rate... have you temp'd these guns?
@nexusone5584 that's the thing when u fire the gases escaping from the comp heats up the slide. Let's say after 2 mags your going to keep your support thumb lower on the slide.
Did the new carry comp come with optic plates? Some reviews are saying they didnt. Would love a video with an optic install for the new carry comps. Not sure if its a direct install or if it needs plates
Looks like S&W is doing away with the little slide release/slide lock detent that makes sure the slide doesn’t slam home when you forcibly insert a magazine? The Bodyguard 2.0 and these other new guns don’t have it.
If the barrel is ported then why do you need a compensator? You put a compensator at the end of a threaded barrel. Shields tend to be snappy so porting would not reduce that. You need more weight in the slide and barrel and a heavier recoil spring to reduce that. I ordered one of these so I will find out.
Anyone try to zero an optic on this? I am trying to direct mount an eps carry and smith said it should but it won’t zero. Elevation is too low and it zeros on other ones. Smith asked me to use a plate or send it in but I wanted to know if anyone had this issue
I picked up the compact instead of this one for one reason... No rail on this one. I don't understand why SW chose to not put a rail on the Shield again!
@@muddyrivertactical Not sure if the Recovery Tactical rail attachment will work on this version of the Shield. For those on the fence about buying this one and needing a rail, they may want to check that out.

Pocket holsters are online now for smaller pistols. We may add to larger pistols as we go though.

That's what I'd like to see. I have the shield plus, and M&P m2.0 - plus is a bit smaller but add the comp? Closer in barrel ?
Very snappy little gun for having a comp on it. It feels like my .40 s&w glock.

Huh? They don't heat up any faster than a non- comped gun...
@@nexusone5584 from my experience comp pistols heat up faster than none comp pistols

did you prefer this over the 2.0 polymer carry comp version
Personally yes because it’s thinner. Only downside is it does not have a front rail

Thanks for the review. How is the volume compared to the 3.1 shield plus without the ports and comp?
