J-Hope is enlisting soon and he made this single as a gift for us ARMYs. That's why it's a very meaningful song for us ARMYs, especially the fact that he made this song with his own idol(muse) and gifted it to us makes this song much more meaningful.

Dang the guy on the right -you’re right about it’s about army lol since he’s about to leave for the military. Jin’s last song was the same. In their solo stuff they still shout out Army most of the time

J-hope doesn't have a son but that represents every people that supported down the road ARMY, (which he explicitly explained when the song came out, same imagery as Jin's The Astronaut same director), the members, friends, family and role models!
Going from underground to join Cole to the top
    Thx for the reaction!😊

JHope purposefully told us it was for Army. The line of his "even my walk was made of your love and your faith" was talking to Army who supported him from day one and on. But that could also lead to JCole and his talk about God. Both mentioning faith: in the divine and their fans.

the boy is like the girl in the "The Astronaut" BTS Jin's farewell song to Army before enlistment. It's us Army, we're about 10 years old now.

We Army get the absolute best gifts from these seven. That Jhope made such a perfect song before he starts his service. You nailed the sentiment of being hopeful but still impactful message. Both of them took their own take on it and it’s just sooo good and I treasure it as the gift it is. The other 5 are really under it now though because darn Jin and Jhope set the going away song bar very very high.

this was a J-Hope song with J Cole. J Cole had been a muse of J-Hope's for many years. It was J-Hope that approached J Cole about this collab.
I love it. J-Hope puts J.Cole up high on the roof (at the top), and him on the streets and underground in the subway paying homage to his street and underground roots (often freestyling and battling to J Cole's rap), and in the end, rises up to meet J.Cole (at the top) on the roof.
    Genius!
J Cole is also giving a nod to the next up-and-coming rap generation. Interesting that he's done that with a South Korean rapper instead of a Western one.

    There's no Jhope's son 😂
He is talking to Army. It's a farewell song to Armys because he is leaving for mandatory military service for 18 months.
The litle kid, just similar to Jin's farewell song The Astronaut, represents Army. "Always for us" (Army and BTS), everything in his life circulated around this two entities.

Mmm every BTS member has Army as their fans, it’s not only something for the group as a whole. This song is to say goodbye before enlisting. RM also has Army in his recent song Wildflower. And Jin in The Astronaut. Those songs are a moment of reflection on their careers and specifically, Jin’s and JHope’s are farewell songs.

Even though this song was a farewell song to his fans because he is enlisting to the South Korean army mandatory for two years, when JHope references “it’s always for Us” that’s a tribute to BTS Army this collab is also paying homage to hip hop and his idol JCole…Respect

Thank you for the reaction. This was Jhope farewell to army. That is what I had in mind when listening to this song. It made think that he saying that even though he may be far from us he is always hoping and loving Army. I feel like when JCole was referencing letting his daughter grow up it was also a metaphor for Army letting Jhope grow up and go to the military. There are so many different meanings to this song, all our correct. JCole was Jhopes biggest inspiration. It’s great how things come full circle, that he got to collab with his inspiration. I believe they just released the behind the scenes shooting sketch of this video on Bangtan TV. I love how you always analyze the songs.

I agree about J Cole's line about letting people go so they can grow. Yes, it rang true to me for ARMY as well to let BTS go (to the military or to take a break or to do solo work) so that they can grow as artists and as young men. I felt this as soon as I heard J Cole say it. I love this song and MV.

ARMY was started less than a month after their debut in 2013, so while their songs are always open for interpretation so that any one can find them relatable, they are in fact almost always sending messages directly to ARMY. I can't think of another group who does this as consistently and earnestly as BTS and all 7 members do, so it may seem strange at first! Shout out from another member of the thick thigh gang. Thank you for this reaction! Y'all are always thoughtful and we appreciate it!

Just some fun facts. J Cole is Jhope's favorite rapper and looks up to him so much that he chose his stage name, Jhope. Hobi's first mixtape is called Hope World, after Cole World. He first met his idol at Lollapalooza last year where they were both headliners. He just happened to run into him and flipped out! The best part was, Jermaine knew who he was immediately and gave him a warm hug... and so Hobi later reached out to him and asked him to feature on his last song before he enlists, which sadly is very soon 😪

The solo stuff has hidden references. Daechwita had 6 men surrounding Low class Suga. That was Suga and Bts members. They also had a female with them, that was Army.
Jin had a little girl represent Army.
In Jhopes it shows similar style video to Jin. He has a little kid he is saying goodbye to.
Both Jin and Jhope did the song to say goodbye to Army.

We're all so happy to see this collab happening! As j-hope recently said on his documentary and on his first mixtape as well, J Cole is his muse and a big inspiration for him. they met at the backstage of Lollapalooza and it was a very special moment for Hobi. I'm really proud and touched to see him working with his idol, he really deserves it! 🥲🥲💗

  • @stephanielemons2995
    @stephanielemons2995 ปีที่แล้ว +2

J Cole was doing music before J Hope's debut. When they met at Lalpoolza last July, Hobi (J Hope's nickname) told J Cole, ever since he started dancing J Cole was his Muse. The first routine J Hope ever learned was to "Chicken Noodle Soup." Which is one of the reasons why he re-did that song. And when Hobi chose to freestyle any of his dances, he would always choose J Cole to dance to. When Hobi joined BTS, they asked all of them to choose a stage name. And some, like RM, Suga, V, J Hope, and I suppose Jin as well even though it's part of his name. But they all went with stage names, but Jimin and Jungkook stayed with their given names.
    Each one has a meaning.
    1. RM- it used to stand for Rap Monster, but now it stands for Real Me.
    2. Suga-stand for his fav. Position in basketball shooting guard. Su-ga.
    3. V-this one is a bit easier to remember. His name stands for Victory, and peace. Mostly Victory.
    4. J-Hope-this one is cool actually. First off, his full name is Jung Hoeseok, so the J is for his family name. He wanted to sound similar to J Cole, but not, so he decided on Hope. And the reason is Pandora's Box. He has used the fable/myth throughout his music, albums, and mixtapes, and Pandora's Box has been a major point. And the reason why is due to what is at the bottom of Pandora's Box, it is, was, and always will be Hope. Hobi has always wanted to be a source of Hope for not only the members but for ARMY as well...but keep in mind J Cole has always been there in the back of Hobi's mind. He wanted to do right by him. For everything that J Cole gave to him, without even knowing it.
One last thing, after they first met, they exchanged numbers and Hobi has said that J Cole has been nothing but gracious, kind, and cool to talk with. The respect that these two have for each other is amazing.
Sorry for such a long post. I do hope it helps a little. Good luck gentlemen and can't wait for more reactions.

JHope wrote the song for ARMY as a gift before he goes into the military, so Aich was on point. J-Cole was Hobi's inspiration to start street dancing as a kid. They met at Lollapalooza last summer, & that set this Collab into motion. J-Cole is Hobi's idol, & he has so many bars because JHope respects him so much. BTW, it doesn't matter if they're doing solo work or work as a group, ALL BTS members & ARMY are a package deal... always. Glad you enjoyed this masterpiece. It's truly an amazing work of art. P.S. JHope doesn't have any kids. 😂 💜

It is Army. This is his send off to the military song. J Cole has always been inspiration to J Hope. He sang what was important to him in his verse and would not have a problem that J Hope was singing to Army. It was J Hopes song. In Jin’s send off song he had a little girl in it that was representing Army. Aich was right on this one.

This song and MV are really good. The attention to detail is really good. J Hope used to dance underground and he would dance to J Cole's music and he loved his music. He started the shoot in the same street as J Cole started one of his MVs. He dances in the underground in the video while J Cole does his thing. The Avirex jacket he is wearing symbolising the king in the sky and J Cole up high on the building. J Hope's stage name and his first mixtape, Hope World, is influenced by J Cole and Cole World. The behind the scenes is so adorable. J Hope is fanboying and he stayed and watched J Coles filming. He wrote him a card and gave him a gift too. It was so cute.

😂 It is J Hope’s temporary farewell to ARMY before he enlists in the military! If you know, he sang about the choice to burn on with more passion, or leave the art, at one’s peak in two of his songs, MORE and ARSON, and J Cole picks up the theme here, but says he’s not ready to find another “hobby” either. The video shows J Hope going back to his beginnings as a street dancer, dancing in the streets to J Cole’s (his early muse) music. J Hope wrote the music, including the whistling melody, and handed the time to the artist who inspired him the most when he was a kid.

Lol, actually ARMY is in Daechwita. The people in black who are headbanging near the end of the video, the woman who gives Suga the car keys, and the music itself. Daechwita is a kind of music played when the Emperor leaves the palace or when the ARMY is marching. There are a number of MVs that have a child in them, usually a girl, and the child represents ARMY. The purple balloons are a fairly recent thing, since Permission to Dance. The child representing ARMY has been used for years. Being fairly new to BTS, you wouldn't have any way of knowing that, though. Oh, and they just released the shooting sketch for the MV. J-Hope went to New York early, so he could watch J.Cole film his segment. It was actually J.Cole's suggestion for J-Hope to appear with him.

We know that this is his last gift to ARMY bc he's leaving, he actually said that but the kid and everything is left to ones interpretation. I like to believe that the kid is Hobi when he was that age bc that was when he started to find his passion in dance, especially street dance, and he's sending off his younger self comforting him that everything's going to be alright and he's going to make his dreams come true like meeting his idol and do what he loves ❤️

I disagree to one of your pointthat their solo stuff doesnt include army. Actually the way they do their solo stuff is how they feel about armys. They always make it a point to make sure armys know that all their songs are gift to us. Lol but good thoughts tho.
You must know what and where jhope came from, his inspirations, his ways, etc. He's always bery vocal that he patterned jhope to jcole & hope world to cole world. And jcole is his life's muse. He used to dance to jcoles music when he was young.
And also, wrong or right, i love the time where you two talk about what you watched. You converse about d things u can connect to it. Even if it's unrelated & out of nowehre lol jisy lpve the vibe! 💯💯💯💯

@ MK5 Studios,You guys are way off ! J-Hope of BTS does not have a child! That child is a representation of us “ARMY” . He is saying goodbye to the fandom ARMY because he is next to go into the military ! Just like Jin when he did his music video before joining the military., “The Astronaut “ also had a child ,a young girl who represented “ARMY”! You don’t have to have a purple heart or a purple balloon or have BTS spell their body in the shape of the letters ARMY to be obvious!
And J. Cole happens to be J-Hope of BTS’ idol and he is paying homage to J. Cole if you noticed in the music video J. Cole is dancing on top of the roof his status is legendary then you have J-Hope dancing” on the street & Subway“that’s how he got his beginnings before joining BTS he was a street dancer who danced to J. Cole songs! J-Hope even named his 2018 mixtape,” HopeWorld” in relation to “ColeWorld” BTS started out as a hip-hop group in 2013 and they’re song “hip-hop lover“ pays homage to the OGs of hip-hop and J-Hope mentions J. Cole as his inspiration!
J-Hope and in-house producer P dogg mix the beats and did the production 95% of the work is done by BIGHIT entertainment it’s not J Cole’s production! Incidentally they met last year at Lollapalooza in Chicago where J-hope headlined! He met J.Cole Backstage at the music event. That’s probably where it all started !? November 2022 J-Hope and the in-house producer Pdogg started the project for the music video and J. Cole four days before the music video was to drop created his bars for the music video so therefore it was mainly a BIGHIT production!
J-Hope just like the rest of the guys and BTS always represents ARMY in the majority of their projects. we help them get to where they are now from a small company that was going bankrupt ARMYpushed and stream their music ,buying their merchandise and continually to go to their concerts to support them and help aided for their popularity early on! BTS & ARMY work together as cohesive well oil machine! I have joined many fandoms in the past but no fandom can compare to BTS ARMY the largest fandom in the world 💜

Personally i don't think the little kid represented ARMY. J.Cole was his inspiration, J-hope was literally so influenced by J.Cole as an artist -from his stage name, his first mixtape (Cole World / Hope World), his lyrics (Hip hop phile lyrics: "Hope hope world, before I built my own world, there was Cole world, When he lit up Friday night, I became more inspired to write my own music" - he loved 'Friday Night Lights' by J Cole), etc. I think that kid was symbolic - J. Cole was a different generation, J-hope was the kid he inspired, and someday, hobi will be passing that torch to the next generation he inspired as well. i think that fits in with J Cole's lyrics as well.

ok, so this song is actually for Army since J-Hope is enlisting, this was his last song that he gifted Army before he goes. I was actually very conflicted about this song, because (as also a fan of J.Cole) I didn´t love that J.Cole made his verse too personal. As an example, when Jin enlisted, he did The Astonaut with Coldplay as his gift to Army, and Chris Martin 100% wrote the song thinking about the situation and how Jin feels about Army. So it feels weird that J.Cole wrote a verse so personal when the song was a goodbye song from J.Hope to Army.

I love the song and video. 💜 but just wanted to say that my husband is a former professional soccer player and his thighs are ridiculously big and he has to buy athletic fit pants which have more room for big thighs and bums 😆

Jhope is about ARMY! Just because they do solo projects, they still have ARMY. Be careful what you say, you don't want ARMY to come down and school you!! It's always, always about ARMY!! J-Cole is an added addition to this collab because he wants to pay homage to his idol. But this song is for ARMY to say goodbye for now until he completes his military service. You need to watch more BTS and how their world is about ARMY, no one else.

No,it's not always about Army.Sometimes it's about their personal experiences with life or about the haters.Mic drop and Cyphers for example. They also don't have to be careful what they say because Army loves genuine reactions. If they are misinformed we simply correct them that's all.
