Oh my... How adorable is J-Hope in this BTS Episode 🥰 like you said, it's just so cute, because at the end of the day, our idols are just like everyone else, they have their own idols, and they're so shy around them, it kills me 🥹 I'm so happy he was able to make this song with J. Cole. Our Hope, our sunshine 💜
What's particularly lovely about this: by collaborating with j-hope on this song, J. Cole has introduced BTS to a group of new listeners who checked out "on the street" and asked, "Who the hell is j-hope?" Some of them have since listened to j-hope's other solos, gone on to the rap line's songs released as BTS, then Agust D/SUGA's solos and RM's solos. They're sold. So there's now a tiny little nascent branch of ARMY made up of rap and hip hop heads who love J. Cole and wanted to know who this Korean boy was that J. Cole chose to work with, because J. Cole doesn't work with just anyone who happens to bump into him at Lollapalooza. He named himself j-hope's hyung, older brother. On the other side, there are j-hope fans who are now listening to J. Cole because he was so brilliant on this song and j-hope worships him. I won't even get into how gracefully and naturally all of this openness and exploration counters the tired old myth of Black vs. Asian racial tensions in America that white superiority racists have been so eager to perpetuate for so long. That's what music can do in this world.
I've been loving some of the J Cole fans who are doing reactions. They're coming in without the usual kpop/boy band prejudices and they keep just being delighted that Hobi has six more performers attached and they're all good. It's a good way to find BTS. Thank you for bringing this up.
The amount I’ve cried and yet like The Astronaut it’s a hope filled hug that says “till we meet on the other side”. I adore this man so much and JCole might have done my favorite verse of his (I’ve only listened to a little of his stuff though).
J-Hooooope! He’s my favorite human. I love him so much and happy for him. Sad he’s gonna be out of reach for awhile now. 💜💔 Thanks for reacting to this jewel.
Oh Hobi, our sunshine. Imagine that after 10 years of fanboying BTS you get to wotk with them. I would be on the ground. J Hope danced amazingly to this beautiful song
Love your reaction to this and love this song collab! It is a bop and a love letter to Army as JHope heads off to the military. I will be listening to OTS for years to come 💜
Been stuck in my head since I first heard it! Folks are still doing the dance challenge! Hobi said when he writes, he will whistle the song from his head before the lyrics are fully there! He kept it in the recording on this one! He also said he used up all his English just to talk with J Cole! Now it's about time you reacted to Jimins performance and new song Like Crazy on the Jimmy Fallon show this past Friday night! I swear you won't be well after watching!😂
I didn't ever think I'd miss Jin this much when he was leaving. There is a hole. There is going to be crater when this beautiful ray of sunshine is away.... 2025 all back safe & sound. Thanks for the reaction ! Didn't know there was a behind the scenes. Figured there would be but missed it dropping. This collab introduced me to JCole and he is brilliant.
Hobi has written a second verse, performed it on Jay Park ‘Drive’ in case the collaboration didn’t happen, it is so beautiful. Check it out for all the feels. He is a giant walking, dancing, loving HEART 💜
Hope’s second verse: On the dark road We try to smile On the dry road We try to cry Streets of the whole world Streets with you Our streets filled with lots of stories So just walk lightly Whenever we wanna Wherever we wanna. J-Hope On The Street
No Cap - cried my ARSE off, first time listening. "Like a Father, watching his daughter, walk down the altar" - SLAYED. ME. I ain't 'Murican but knowing the amount of my boys who get killed every day up in your streets? Don't matter what/where or who. How many of them get to 'live'....to walk their daughter down that alter. This just hopped up in my top 5 BTS songs of all time. Have seen you for a while now, Alex. Always stayed quiet. My BTS reactioners in here have over a million plus subs. Been with them for years. Seen their channels grow from ...zero to being able to fly to S.Korea and personally attend a BTS concert. Up close n personal. But love meeting new BTS reactioners. Perhaps that is not your goal, Alex. Either way...loving your content and how you do NOT hold back - f*ck yea 💜💜
I just found out this reaction (and your channel) and I can confirm this song still makes me cry in 2024. When J-Cole says "j-hope" at the end of his verse...the waves of proudness I feel. That's Hobi's idol. And its his feature!! I miss him so much😭
Please and thank you! Do you feel as hurt and alienated as I feel? This was supposed to be as meaningful a connection to Hobi as The Astronaut is to Jin. Instead, my throat closes up when I try to listen and all the joy everyone else is feeling is like a slap in the face. Hobi let his hero do anything he wanted and was grateful for it. Everything Cole says is unquestionable because he's a "lyrical genius". I'm supposed to set it aside and not be dramatic and ruin everyone else's good time, but I'm tired of being disrespected when I'm expected to respect everyone else. I'm very grateful to have found your comment, even if you don't feel as strongly. 💜
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Classic JHope. i liked this. Great fit. Lots of memories. Made me nostalgic. J-Hope's dancing while J. Cole is rapping is really something special. This is my 2nd time listening to J Cole. Loved his flow. My 1st listen was Born Sinner. Remembered debut Danger BTS MV. Saw call backs to old BTS MVs. On my 2nd listen i was teary eyed. But i was fine with u. Been playing this song all day on Spotify. When i watched this I thought of my city NYC. But than i 2nd guessed myself and thought i was wrong. But a moot of mine msg me and she said the whole street area is around Chinatown and the train station J-hope was dancing in is at Delancey St and Bowery. And then he was riding those older trains that used to run b4. And he was walking out of the Bowery St station that had the J and Z trains on the sign b4 meeting up with J Cole near one of the NY bridges. Also I remember he had a couple of flights last year between Korea and NY/the US. Possibly the one after Lollapalooza was when he did the MV filming with J Cole. So i was right. This made me so happy. =0} It is NY. =0} The boy is army to me. Just like the girl in Jin's song was army. So glad u liked it. =0} He left us for the military but we will see him back in Oct 2024. This was his see u later to us.UwU Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 - air said on 3/4/23 He was dancing underground while J. I love this song . . . J Hope and J Cole. J Hope is my bias and I don't know much about J Cole but he seems like a really nice man. Would you please react to J Hope, RM and Sugar 's performance of Ugh and Cypher 3 in Busan. I know you don't like rapping much but you might like this. This was at their concert last year.
I’m a million years late to this video but I thought I’d tell you just how much detail that they put into this. Other people mentioned some of the video locations- the same alley as J Cole’s Simba video, the particular subway station- but the building they were on top of was on Jay St in Brooklyn. A big hug for you Alex. This was a dream come true for Hobi and for us, being a witness to greatness on this legendary collab! 💜

This is just a F-ING amazing song, and the MV is perfection - every single element of it.

Oh good! Maybe I can splice the two verses together and cut out J Cole! This was not a pleasant first intro for me.

You walk down an aisle to an alter, tho. You don't walk down an alter. Am I missing some kind of colloquial use?
I love this MV and behind combination 😊
This song is a vibe!
I feel all the emotions! I’ve watched many many reactions and what I love most is the love between cultures.

J-Hope is my sunshine bias wrecker.
I'm not crying, you're crying. 😭😭😭😭😭
I LOVE J-Hope's bit, and I like most of J. Cole except for the part where he calls me "stupid as Hell" for not being a believer... :p
