Your reactions are great! This was an emotional release for ARMY, as it's a song for us before he went to serve. The symbolism in the music video alone is crazy, showing J-Hope's humble beginning (on the street dancing to his roles models' music) while J Cole who is one of his inspirations is on the roof spitting bars (roof=top of the game), then at the end J-Hope has achieved so much that he is on top being able to meet his idol (meeting J Cole on the roof). Even giving J Cole most of the bars shows his respect to him. Also, the kid at the beginning symbolises ARMY and the alley is a reference to a previous J Cole clip I believe. And the beat and whistle combo J Hope came up with and did, is everything, just so smooth and such a chill vibe. Mad respect.
Yes bts as team is so freaking solid. They are a true brotherhood. And they all support each other so much. They are their own biggest hype men. Jcole man, I love that jhope took the song back to the days where he just used to dance to many other artists mostly from the 90s. Jcole had a huge influence on hope when he was transitioning from street dance to rapping for bts.
Jhope was a street dancer before he joined BTS. He learned to rap with RM and Suga and his own persistence and developed his own style. In Hip Pop Phile by BTS during Jhope's verse he said, "Hope hope world, before I built my own world, there was Cole world | When he lit up Friday night, |I became more inspired to write my own music". I am so glad that he was able to collab with one of his role models or someone that has inspired him. This is song is so beautiful. This is his gift to ARMY before he has to leave for mandatory military service. Many people think the song kind of felt more like a JCole song, which I understand, but Jhope said before this was announced that he was "going back to the streets". So, I think that was the point. He is dancing more because that is what he did in the streets before BTS while listening to people like JCole. At least that is my interpretation. I interpret the boy two different ways. 1. being ARMY 2. himself in the past
I’m glad to have come across your reaction. I’m happy you appreciate our boys. And just like BTS put out positivity, I like your positive vibes. We need more of that in this crazy world. JHope being able to collab with JCole is such an accomplishment. We are so proud of him. He has said JCole is an idol of his. He had a solo project before called Hope World. He raps about his hip hop inspirations, one being JCole. Check out JHope make history headlining Lollapalooza. It was when his solo album “Jack In The Box” came out last year. Also check out “Hip Hop Lover” by BTS. It’s and oldie but goodie, they speak on the influence of hip hop on their lives. There’s a lyric video and live performance video.
JHope started this thing, "Hope on the Street" years ago, when he'd share videos of him (and sometimes other BTS members) freestyle dancing, well before they got current day huge. This is kind of a continuation to Hope on the Street, but with JHope's muse, Cole, in JHope's own music video to dance to. It's a dream come true for JHope, for sure. Now we are graced with history: JHope World x JCole World🤯💜✌
Hobi´s brothers supporting him, as they always do. Oh this song is beautiful. J Hope is going to his enlistment and this is what he is leaving for us. BTS did a song a long time ago called "Born singer" paying homage to J Cole. Now this collab. Dreams come true.
BANGER. I appreciate that you stopped after Jhope's intro and really enjoyed what he was putting out there. At that point I got excited knowing J Cole coming in was gonna blow your mind lol. ✌💜🖤😎

Yes in Korea all men have to do Mandatory military service for 18mo-2yrs. Each member never had Opportunity to do a solo album so now they're doing it before they enter service. Jin in service already his album is " Astronaut" single for Army. RM album called "Indigo" 12/2022 he's working on another album for Army now before enlist. J-Hope album called "Jack in the box" release 7/15/2022 but wanted to do another single for Army to show love which is this " On The Streets" with J. Cole. J. Cole has always been his mentor. Armys is so happy for J-Hope. Jimin solo album drop on 4/24/2023 called "Face" pre-sale already "SOLD OUT" Suga going on worldwide tour starting April-May with his new album. Have 12 shows in US all already "SOLD OUT" Have two more members working on solo albums that's Jungkook and V. Each member enlist different times when album completed. BTS will come back together 2025 all finish military service.
You should check out Arson and Mama by J-Hope, Snooze or Amygdala by Sugar (August D), Wildflow or Lonely by RM, Dreamers or Euphoria by Jungkook, Airplane Pt. 2 by BTS is one of my favorites…. Epiphany or The Astronaut by Jin…..Sweet Night or Singularity by V…. Serendipity by Jimin…. You really can’t go wrong with any of them….
So amazing and dope 💜 I think as each member depart to do their military service they come out with a song to say temporary goodbye. I’m assuming the little boy is army, 9-10 years old, that’s how long BTS and army been together. And j Cole is his inspiration and to have him collab with j Cole is such a full circle ⭕️ love it, kind is sad song for me, my heart goes out to him and I want to say… see you when you return j hope! 😢bittersweet nonetheless
The pride I feel in Jhope getting to do a sing like this as a send off as he leaves for his military service. So I don’t think he has anything in person planned as he’s submitted his paperwork so any day now he’ll get his date up report in. He’s just pure art and JCole was perfect in the pocket. BTS is 7 always supporting and loving the work each of them do. They have all popped up supporting this and Jhope, they are brothers who love each other.
It would be great to see him perform with J Cole but this Is JHope’s gift to us before he goes into the military, he announced a week ago he’s the next to go…. 💜 Love your journey and giving BTS a chance…
Jhope is the next member that is going to join the military. This was his good-bye-for-now song for ARMY, but since Dreamville is the first weekend of April, it may not be completely out of the question... Jin flew to Argentina to perform his song "The Astronaut" that he did with Coldplay, at one of their concerts before he enlisted.
I said this everywhere at this point, but J.Cole needs to work with this same production crew cause they really put all his talents forward from A to V (audio to visual). I'm sure J-hope had a lot to do with it as he monitors the whole song production and knows his idol and muse by heart. But the visual production crew was insane in making J.Cole's verse really stand out, which I'm sure was the intention.
It would be awesome if JHope could perform at Dreamville, but yeah, he had to turn Becky G down to perform with her at Coachella because of his upcoming enlistment. Can you imagine Dreamville performance (if he was invited) one week a Coachella performance a couple of weeks later? JHope would have the time of his life. He'd be under a lot less pressure than he was for Lollapalooza and could enjoy the festivals more. Unfortunately, it can't happen....this year, at least.
Love the video. Could you please do a reaction to J-Hope's new album “Hope on the Street” coming out this Friday March 29 featuring his new single NEURON and a Jungkook feature. There will also be a full jhope version of On the Street!
