    Hey there Ben, dam shame Seb dropped his bike in the water, and an 85 now cool bet he was gutted it filled up with water. Bit of dust and a few rocks to dodge out on the track, sucks when you get a bar to the ribs bet they're still sore and your avoiding coughing and laughing. Sure was alot of choice words being spoken between the grunts and groans. Cheers Richard

      Hi Richard. Seb was pretty gutted. Lucky the 2-bangers aren't too hard to get going again. First time for me un-drowning one of our bikes and it wasn't too bad.
      Finn has a couple of motocross events coming up so that will give me some time off (yeah right!) for the ribs to heal.

    You could tell that one hurt, ribs take ages, depending on how bad it is they can be months, track was ok, we struck a lot of dust on lap 2 in places and people struggling on the couple of the climbs where Finn stopped

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it sure did hurt. Haven't done a rib before so that was a new experience that I'd rather not repeat!
      Our first lap was really dusty. We took a while to get ready and start riding and then Seb dropped his bike in the first creek crossing and drowned it, and that took a while to get running again. He was riding an 85 for the first time and was a bit too cautious, went too slow and then couldn't keep it upright.
      Richard Streeter caught up to us on that climb on our first lap when he was on his second. You can see us in his video.
      Next trail ride for us will probably be Lake Station so hopefully the ribs are better by then.

      We got the opposite, we were in the first dozen out and had a clean run on lap 1 but found it quite slippery, the track was better on lap 2 but dustier, I've done ribs a few times, they're worse than any other fracture I have had

    I hope you guys recovered from your injuries. Love you ♥

      Thanks! My ribs are still pretty sore. I'm told they will take a few weeks to heal. Finn on the other hand is made out of rubber and was good as new the next day!

    Hey mate about the fodapots do they come with the mic or do you have to buy them separately and how do you charge them because aren’t they American I woulda thought if you try charge it in New Zealand it would break it since it’s American power

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate. Yes, they come with a mic and two speakers that stick on inside your helmet. They charge via USB cable using a standard phone power brick or 12v lighter adaptor.

    hey man just got the fodpsorts but my son it really hurts because it pushes against his ear quite badly I was just wondering what you did with your kids does it push up against there ears bad or is there a solution for that

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate. Some of our helmets had heaps of room for the earpiece and they fitted no problems. One of them I had to cut a recess into the polystyrene to make enough clearance for them.

    • @darronsdiys8583

      @@bentowse yeah it’s annoying really it’s just pushing against his ears there’s no space is there anything you recommend to do so it’s kind off comfortable for him

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd have a look and see if you can cut a recess into the polystyrene in the helmet. Also make sure the speaker is down and forward in the helmet so its by his ear hole not up high and pushing on the cartilage.

    Hey Ben what communication thing do you use to talk to your son😊

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว

      We use FodSports M1S-Pro bluetooth intercoms. They are great for trail riding.

      @@bentowse hey mate sorry to bug you again but i couldnt find anything on yt on how they work so do you have to be on a call or conected to a phone for them to be working and comunicating woth the other person or can they just connect to each other abd you can talk to each other that way

    • @bentowse
      @bentowse  ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries. They connect directly to each other via bluetooth. You can connect to a phone for music and calls but don't have to. The are always on, so you just talk and the other person can hear you and vice versa. They work on line of sight so as long as you can see the other person or close to it you can talk. I've had them out to at least 600-800m and still connected and working.
