Thanks on all your uploads Richard. I have a 450fx here on my farm in Tanzania and love riding once it twice a week. You guys have some brilliant terrain there in NZ!!! How many hrs on your 450? What maintenance have you done, have you done a top end yet. Keep it up.... Otto

Hey there Otto that's awesome that you have land to ride and can get out for a ride that often, yes we do have some great terrain to ride. I've had a few different bikes and I love this 450fx, it has done 250hrs had a new cam chain piston and rings done at 200hrs, shop said it looked mint inside. I do the oil and filter every 10hrs, clean air filter after each ride also regrease the swingarm and linkage every 30 odd hrs. Cheers Richard

Appreciate the tips Richard. Living in the bush here I decided to go back to Yam after quite a few yrs of KTM. Pretty rock solid reliability. My first Yam was an IT175 which I loved. After school I did heaps of Mx and had a total of 5 Yz125s. Had the first Yz400 also. Never an issue with reliability. About to get another 125 (x) for my daughter a just hope and pray she gets to love dirt bikes as much as me 🤞🏻

@@nicolasayer1908 I had a few years riding KTM, back in 98 I was riding a new 97 KTM 400 when a motorcycle mechanic at local Yamaha shop told me the all new YZ400 was touring NZ for test rides, he gave me directions to the farm. Got to ride it what a machine all previous bikes XR500, 600 KTM620 and 400 were slugs in the way they delivered power, so I sold the KTM and brought a YZ400 then a 426 in 2000. That's awesome and I hope your daughter also loves dirt bikes as much as you.

      Thanks Richard,
Yes I forgot I also had a 426 which I know is still running to this day with no overhaul. Also my Dad had the XR600 and 400 so we are twins from different continents. Let's stay in touch.

@@nicolasayer1908 Hey there Otto wow a 426 still running with no overhaul that's impressive. Haha twins from different continents yeah. I upload a ride once or twice a month but this year we have had 7 rides cancelled due to dry conditions. Incase you didn't know these are mainly organized trail rides usually a fundraiser for local schools or clubs, tracks can be from 30 to 60km around but 40 odd km is the norm, Grenville the organizer also includes 2 to 4 enduro options for the more skilled riders and there are short cut family loops as well. I've also done a few 3 to 6 hr cross country events over the years, usually top 10 placing with the odd 2nd and 3rd, getting on the years now 58 in October so I've slowed up a bit not taking risks like I used to, still hit the ground every now and then. Cheers Richard
