Tractor Tales: 1959 International 660 Diesel

Last month we met a collector in Michigan who has a fever for Minneapolis Molines, but couldn't pass up an opportunity to get his hands dirty on a true work horse of the west.

I farmed in the 90s with a 660 wheat land with duels, and a 856 ih and a Gvi mm.

The 'Big Daddy" of the 60 Series tractor range. There was a 660 Gasoline and an LPG version also built, but the Diesel was the most popular of the 660 tractors. Sold mainly in the Western wheat belt of Canada and the USA. Some 660 Diesels were exported to Australia too

Does that tractor have planetary gears in the rear drive axle?

Guessing you'd figured it out by now but yeah planetary hubs. Basically a hot screamin 560 wheatland with planetaries.
