FXitinPost Fix it in Post. I get chills every time I watch this video...especially when you here the flashback voices of Anakin and Obi-Wan from RotS.

Genius reimagination! Would have made a final fight that much more significant to the story, rather than a few swipes and its over.

I saw this fan made short when it was first uploaded, finally it’s getting recognition 💯🙏🏾

This is beyond EXCEPTIONAL and I have seen it MANY TIMES. I cannot believe how PROFESSIONAL and how absolutely true to the nature of ANAKIN with the hostilities that he would have held angrily for 20 years vowing revenge. This is exactly as it should have been done and written. It's too bad at the time that Lucas did not have the technology for this fight scene.
No matter how many decades have passed, Darth Vader and the original characters are still popular and will forever be legacies of cinematic history.

This makes the scene 1000x better! The one thing lacking in Episode IV was the outright hatred Vader/Anakin had for Obi Wan, which is present in this remade scene.

this was really well done - I would also suggest looking up "Boba Fett - The Twelve Parsec Stare". Also a fan-made short that is equally well done.

The original fight choreography, while clunky and rigid, does make sense if you consider Vader has learned his lesson after Mustafar not to underestimate Obi Wan. No big jumps or acrobatics, no twirling or fancy footwork... just methodical, controlled hits.

It's certainly not the case that we didn't have the technology to do something like this in '75/'76. It was that they only had $25 million to work with. To produce a scene like this back then, the one scene alone would have taken maybe 10 million. To produce the whole film at that level would have taken maybe 150 or more. The industry just wasn't ready for that. And then it's not like it would have sold more tickets. It would have sold the same and earned a lot less as a result.

Dude, forget about the money, they simply didn’t even dream about the technology to do this scene.

@@LouieGee If you're talking about CGI, that was obviously not up to the task but i wasn't talking about that. You're redefining the question to be exactly what you want, rather than reading my comment the way it was intended. The scene absolutely could have been done as we see it here. That was the point. The fact that you apparently hate whatever came before you doesn't mean it didn't exist. It did, but cultural factors interfered.

Andor was INCREDIBLE. IDC if you don’t think it’s “Star Wars” enough, it’s the best SW content ever created (including origtrig)

I wonder how George Lucas would react to watching this and Disney is and has always been Disney. Can’t blame anyone but George for selling out to them. Sold his soul to the big mouse.

biggest mistake that he made, if he only knew what disney was about to do to the franchise....

It's terrible. The continuity in this video is atrocious. Vader and Kenobi are anorexic, colour grading is all over the place, FX shots are mismatched, costumes don't match, photography doesn't match the original footage and it's so over the top - it's an abhorrent attempt at trying to match the prequels to the original trilogy.
