- Legendary entertainer Betty White has died at 99, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed she passed away Friday morning at her home in Brentwood, California. Preliminary investigation reveals she died naturally and there is no evidence of foul play. Following the news of her passing, dozens of Hollywood stars from Ryan Reynolds to Reese Witherspoon to Steve Martin to Ellen DeGeneres paid their respects and shared their memories of her on social media.
Oh Betty, she was so excited about her 100th birthday. She made the world a better place with her sense of humor and outlook on life. May she rest in peace.

Not many celebrities I would shed a tear for, but let's face it, she was more than a celebrity. She is and always will be a legend who made this world a better place by being in it. May we cherish her legacy and learn from it.
I cried and that's never happened for a celebrity before. She was something special, like everyone's grandma!

Aww, she was a "LEGEND" - loved her in all her roles. Part of her being was all animals, she loved them all. She was witty, fun & young at heart. Got along with all her co-stars & well respected. She'll be missed by all

She was a very warm and funny lady who contributed so much to entertainment and to animal welfare. She is in a better place now.
It’s sad but she lived a great live. Even though I know that I can’t stop sobbing laying on my kitchen floor right now. Was even supposed to pick up my little boy from day care at 4 but I just can’t and can’t even take calls. I’m sure they’ll figure something out I need my time right now. I grew up with Betty on my tv

During her conversation with People, the Ocean's 8 actor expressed that she is going to step in the New Year with loevely memories of the late actor.
She said, “I don't drink vodka... but I will tonight, on ice, with a slice of lemon and a hot dog on the other side, and just be okay being sad. I'll have to buy some rose-colored glasses because Betty was that for all of us.”
Recalling her 2009 The Proposal co-star, the Bird Box actor gushed over White’s remarkable talent.
She opened up, “Timing isn't easy in comedy, because you have to navigate other people's timing. Betty pivots like I have never seen, making it look seamless,"

Betty was me and my daughter favorite actress. We would have loved to have met her but that would have been one in a million chance. She reminded me of my grandmother in so many ways. Even though I have never met Betty...I do know a great human being when I see one. There was nothing that lady was not known for, her kindness not only to human beings but the love for animals, her magic of making us all laugh and those dimples!! Her known way of making fun of herself but not knowing how enormous that made her look. Being a natural gifted actor that made it look oh so easy. But most of all just being Betty and to know every thing she gave was out of kindness and was pure. Her pick of men outside her beloved Allan, Mr. Robert Redford, was on target also, I must say!!

My family was heartbroken to hear of Betty White’s passing, I’m 54, so I literally have been watching her for over have a century, but my children and granddaughter were equally crushed.
