    I got a question for you. I have a non-lightning truck and am fixing to switch over to a lightning bumper. Your video gave me a good visual on the brackets that i would need and where to place them, but I was wondering what the silver piece was that connected to both bumper mounts?

    • @DebtLife_Projects

      Heat exchanger bracket, heat exchanger hangs from that

    Thanks for the video, can't wait to see it done... but I still think the bolts will need to higher, the top one can hangover the top, and make a new hole for the bottom bolt... or get welding. I did the same thing, still was not enough, but you "CAN" lift the top part of the fiberglass bumper and attach it the grille shell. I used rivets. The fog lights are what stops it from going up, they hit the steel bumper. I thought to notch the steel bumper, but came to my senses and said no.

      Thanks for Watching! Yeah I thought about going further, but with the amount I can move it up when I was testing it, I think ill be happy. Only one way to find out, can't wait to see it with it all together either, hopefully soon! Just waiting on these parts, might be a while with all this crap going on now and shut downs. Who knows 🤷‍♂️

    What is the socket size of the 4 (2 in each side) nuts that are behind the bracket that grabs the bumper? Basically the ones that you cut the holes for, I have to run down to the store tomorrow because I only have up to 18mm lol

    • @DebtLife_Projects
      @DebtLife_Projects  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question lol I honestly don’t remember. I’ll have to check when I get home today. I wanna say 21mm but don’t quote me lol 😆

    Nice project, I agree that the gap is not acceptable. So are you going to pound out that dent on the passenger side bumper?

      Nah, I didn't even worry about it. Just put some fresh paint and put the cover back on. Can't see it anyways

    Hey i have a f150 and i really wanted to see how the bumper mounts up from the inside since theres literally no videos on how to install the bumper cover this is the closest ive seen of no bumper. Since the lighting bumper i bought its a little beat but can really see how its mounted

  • @faststang85

    You you also slot the brackets themself. Im having a problem with the taiwan inner bumper to the oem cover i have a gap of like 5/8inch and if i try and put the clips in it sucks the cover down and you can clearly see from the front its warped looking.

    Yo dude I have 2000 lightning I just took the bumper apart to take care of that gap the 2 studs on each side are already slotted from the factory alls I did was tap them down they give an inch up or down never cut nothing why you didn't see that ?

    • @DebtLife_Projects
      @DebtLife_Projects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did see that, this gives much more adjustment, for a much tighter gap. Plus, those studs that are slotted that you tapped on, tend to drop back down over time, going right back to where they were, giving you bumper gap again, this won't.

    • @frankpicucci2276
      @frankpicucci2276 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes will definitely give you more your truck looks great I'm friends with Johnny & Sue wiker (lightning) I'm not racing mine just for street I only did a 2.6 KB charger 497 RWH
      It's good enough i drive it every day. Like you videos have a great day

      There’s a newer video where I did, the bumper was in paint at the time. The video with the thumbnail that says “ready to rock” titled “first cold start, tuning, and front end results” has the bumper on with the before/after results...and That was said in this video, guess you skipped over it 🤷‍♂️
