Ford Lightning Build - Fully Built Motor Is FINALLY Running Good!

- Our Ford SVT Lightning project race truck build is back and ready for racing! This is a full walk around, run down, and review of the current mods. The fully built JDM Engineering longblock is finally installed, running good, and ready to vs anyone on the street or drag strip! The cammed engine with American Racing longtube headers and full exhaust is going to make some crazy loud noise down the quarter mile, with some ported supercharger whine, as it goes 0-100 real quick!

Sean Stetson yup stock trans still, just an upgraded valvebody in it for firm shifts.
NICE...very nice "L" Mine is a 2002 Black I bought new in January 2002. Lots of mods but no built engine. I run the Cal-trac bars but also added a pan hard bar, it really keeps the rear end centered. I also lowered the front about 3" with Bell Tech drop spindles and the rear about 6-7" also with bell tech hardware. Had Torque Thrust II's by American Racing, special order due to the odd bolt circle only when they arrived 2 were slightly out of round and wobbled. Due to the special order AR would not replace them. So I sold them and went back to stock. 2K plus for the set and two shook like Hell. BTW I got 70k on the clock and seems like everyone wants to buy it. Thanks for the great pixs...T
Haven't even watched it yet. My 2003 L runs awesome still. 117k. Miles on it. Best purchase ever. Only mods on mine are insane sound system. It sat for 2 yrs in the snow. Currently at awesome mechanic to get it top notch.
Right off the top fuel filter change it all the time. Mine might be ported but I don't know. No driving in it winter. No more. Basically tried driving it in Milwaukee. Summer tires. 700lbs sandbags in the back. I love my my baby I will never ever sell it best purchase ever. I might like rt headlight renew. My L is the most virgin motors. I got a really good engine.

Much better music than your last video.......very nice Lightning and I'm sure you can't wait until you get those break-in miles on it, and once you do, "How-Bout" your first track call out........Adam, in the "Silver Pig"......fully built MWK Engineering (That would be me) small block Ford. Make sure to swap out your Nitto's for the slicks and pizza cutters sitting in your garage, gonna need'em............Seriously, that's one nice build.....wish I had mine back......Remember an old saying, "Keep it between the ditches".... Looking forward to your next "broke-in" video.

I meant to say earlier, think about fabricating a cage, at least a 6/8 point, that's a lot of Ponies without one.

It's something I made during my free time at work one weekend! Its 1/8 inch thick 6061 aluminum that I machined, black anodized, and engraved. Im working on getting it perfect, that was just a quick rough draft, and when I get it worked out I plan on offering them for sale. Just need to find free time, the shop is slammed at the moment lol 😢

I noticed you have an overlay around the intercooler so that the frame isn't showing because of the removed lower grille. Where can I get something like that?
Im in the process of making a batch as we speak! I made that myself out of 1/8 inch thick 6061 billet aluminum. I’ll do a video when they are ready, so stay tuned! 🤘😁

Thanks! Nope, its the original paint! Just corrected best I can with polishes and know what angles to show or not show lol 😂
It needs paint soon actually, clearcoat is failing on the hood, roof, and rear fenders. But its been all about performance first!

JDM, they are super legit, and I'd only trust either them, or QMP. First motor let go due to a bad tune from switching tuners unfortunately, no fault of JDM

It’s a JDM Engineering longblock, brand new block bored .02 over, Forged cobra jet crank, Manley rods, .02 pistons, high volume oil pump, PI heads ported, oversized valves, titanium retainers, stage 2 cams, the whole 9 yards. Everything is built/forged for 1200hp
@@DebtLife_Projects how long did it take to get the engine in from jdm when you ordered it? Planning on ordering from them as well but didn't know if they are built upon order or in stock ready to ship.
@@andrue17 depends when your order. They are a build upon order and I ordered in the middle of race season, so it took a while. Like 8 months if I recall lol. But it's worth the wait to get it done right the first time. Shouldn't be much wait now, race season is ending up north, slow season should be starting
@@DebtLife_Projects cool man appreciate the reply back, still undecided on coyote swap or jdm built long block. I can get a brand new Ford racing coyote long block from summit for 9k, comes fully dressed with intake, throttle body and accessories. It's a tough decision to make at the moment.

Did I see 2 Catch cans? Or is the second one for something else?
Yes, at the time I was running catch cans on both sides, but every time I check the drivers side can it’s bone dry, so I’ve taken it off, and don’t run it now

It should with a good tune. Mine held up for a year just fine, before I switched tuners, then everything went south.
I'm in Arkansas don't know anybody around here that can tune it. I have to run 100 octane bc every time I run 93 I burn a piston
I ran 8.60 n a 8th 13 n quarter at 105mph at Memphis

I put on a 6lb lower pulley on my 1999 lightning, how much boost should i be seeing?
14psi give or take. Also, hopefully you did an upgraded maf as well. 6lb pulley will peg a stock maf (especially the 99 since it's smaller than later years), when a maf pegs, the motor will blow up.

I own a 02 Harley f150 I’m trying to find a smaller pulley for the supercharger because it has a bigger pulley then the lightning but it still pulls but ford put the same engine as the lightning in the Harley but just made the pulley bigger to decrease power since it’s like a family 4 door truck and now I need a tool to change the pulley and idk anyone selling any🥱
I would honestly leave the upper pulley alone and put a bigger lower pulley on to increase the boost instead. Would be less belt slip that way 👍
Switch to the E85. It is 105+ octane, you are almost set up to run it. You will need -8 braided fuel return line, 10ft, 97 or aftermarket fuel rails & fuel pressure regulator with fuel pressure gauge And a Custom tune. Eric Korn is THE MAN to do your tuning. He goes above and beyond anyone else i have dealt with. Super friendly guy and patient and a huge help with detailed instructions. He also gives his personal cell phone in case you have an urgent need of help. If you need any help getting in touch with him let me know and i will be glad to help. With 9.5 to 1 compression under boost ur compression is ab 19.5 to 1 u better run no lower than 100 octane fuel or u will burn a piston I had my motor out 3 times bc of it every time I run out of racing fuel I've burn a piston

Wes Benton on the previous setup (less boost and less cooling mods) it ran 11.7 @118mph. Should be low 11s now. On street tires that I daily on too

I had a 4lb lower and an intake running 13.2’s, gave Eric a chance and first pass out there I ran a 12.7 from just changing to his tune
