Great series on the SVT Lightning!!! My 1st lightning was a used 99. Then in 2004 I traded it in on a brand new one. Left it bone stock and today I still have it with only 65K miles on the clock. Over the years I dreamed about doing different mods but it ran so nice I left it alone. Thought about selling it now that I’m in my 70’s but after watching this lightning series I don’t see how I can part with my old friend 😢. Matter of fact I think I’ll go out in the garage with a cup of coffee, turn on some tunes and do a little dusting under the hood. Thanks for the inspiration everyone. ❤
I know most of the world now has 15-20 minute attention span but I appreciate an hour plus episode. You guys did a lot of work and cutting it down so much wouldn’t represent that. The truck looks great man!
as a college student, these are always my favorite videos to sit down and eat dinner while watching, always makes me want to work harder to be able to get my own cars and modify and drive even more
1960 Chevrolet C10 I've been seeing a lot of them here in California resto-mod some lowered some rat rotted and I love that front face grill especially with the dual round headlights. If I ever get the chance to get a shell I would surely LS swap that sucker using the same setup you have with the trans am. New would be Dodge 3500 Diesel Dually.
Been waiting to see this episode, and you did not disappoint, Alex. You and your team did a top notch reassemble of the Lightning, and it is beautiful. Its easy to tell you really love that truck.. Congratulations to you, Peter, and all the gang there.
Whoa! This is one heck of a mega-episode. I can see why you and Max had to spend a little extra time with editing. LOVE the Lightning content, Alex. Looking forward to the future "built engine" swap when you get the Lighting back from the US tour.
I think its really cool that you took what was a ticking time bomb and took it apart down to the frame and built it back up to pristine condition. Now you can look back at it and know there is nothing wrong with it anymore because you fixed it properly! i hope you have a great time on your adventure with the car meets/shows!
Thanks Alex. Your entertainment values are extraordinary. Please let us know that Peter is a permanent member of the team. I watch as much of your content that I can, you brighten my day when there is a new video. Thanks again for all you do.
For that pipe, you can take a piece of flat metal and put it on the opposite side of where you want the bend to be and use a c-clamp on the other side. Put the screw side where you're applying heat at and it will push it in. The piece of metal on the opposite side will prevent it from scuffing up or bending.
Finally the project is done! Thanks for sharing. I never saw the ratcheting wrench back in 2002 when working and testing Jet Skiis, but who knows when they were mainstream lol.

I have a 5.4 f150 with the super cooling package. That lower radiator hose always scared me with the lines going to the oil cooler. Do Note that the gasket on the oil cooler mounted on the filter housing can go bad. Causing the coolant and oil to mix. If you have one of these trucks with oil/coolant mixing. Do a combustion leak test. because It may be the oil cooler and not the head gasket.
Awesome video! Here a tip - I normally hold the fan at the top of the blade while it inside the shroud when putting a new radiator back in then screw the fan in before bolting the radiator onto the body. It allow me to move the radiator around a bit to screw the fan onto the water pump and I wouldn’t have to struggle putting the fan on trying to squeeze it between the engine and shroud since I already installed radiator with fan inside the shroud. Loved your truck!

Engine Masters with Freiburger, Dulcich and Brulee proved that absolutely abusing a set of headers made no difference to power output. Great content Alex, love your work.
Yes. was going to mention this. I watched most of the Roadkill series before it went behind a pay-wall.. One of the best ones was taking an engine out of a car and putting it in a boat - in the parking lot!!
I work for over 10 years in high managment until I become a dad. And I realized that I needed more time for my daughter. Now I'm a mechanic working for home. Is less money for sure, but I get to love what I'm doing and to see my kids grow next to me
Bud I'm really glad you sandblasted and painted that frame because those are really beautiful and fast trucks. This one is clean and it deserves to be restored and built with a forged engine. It'd be awesome to see this thing get a turbo some day and get rid of the supercharger. I'm not saying that the supercharger can't be modified to make good power, but they usually can't make the kind of power that a big single turbo can. I told you in the last video that my 1992 Acura Integra with a T3 turbo making 408 whp at 15 psi with a B18A1 was almost unbeatable in the long run with drag radials on the front, and the only vehicle that could really put a whooping on me was a modified 2003 Ford Lightning. I never thought that my car would be as fast as it was, and I never expected it to be a real contender (neither did anyone else in the area), but it did, and the Lightning was the only vehicle that ever really gave me a good run and he edged me out every time. I worked my butt off to get back at him, but I didn't have forged internals at the time, so I had to try different tire pressures and work with what I had at the time. Still, he had 20" chrome wheels and he had a 5 speed manual trans in it, and he always dusted me by just over half a vehicle length. To this day I have a 1997 Honda Civic coupe with a fully built LSVTEC with a Garrett GTS3582 turbo that made 709 whp, but there's no street racing scene like it was back then because the cops got smarter, but it's still fun to whoop on the unsuspecting.
Oh man! We are spoiled by this long episode! You and Sreten are my two favorite youtubers! I hope you will do a colab soon! Might be cool to see Jason Cammisa join as well. He is a car nerd. I hope one day I get to visit the USA and meet your crew in person. It would be an honor!
Shouldn't there be a colab with Sreten to happen this summer if i remeber correct? 🤔 Or was this just in my fantasy 😅 (asked this already in an other comment)
That colour was made for that truck. As I get older I’ve learned to appreciate everything from the big 3. They all have their beauties. This is definitely one of ford’s
Happy the truck just got back on the road! I’ve been watching along with the suspension and steering changes because I just bought my first lighting two weeks ago! Paid 20k for a 2002 true blue with 85k miles and bone stock. Car just seems to have been neglected for the past few years and I’m doing standard changes to get it back up and going. Good luck with the truck and thank you for the videos!
I can not believe how productive and proactive you and Peter are, given the scope and the scale of the ‘Lighting’ project. Batman and Robin of Ford pickups
Hey Alex, great to see the truck put back together again. It is also my favorite color on these. Good luck with the car shows. I know it will be well received. Cheers!
If you havent finished the fans all you need to do is trim the lower tabs & by a pair of Hayden 3655 PWM fan controllers from your local parts store. I did the same fan mod on my 2003 F150 using a fan assembly from a 2013 f150 3.5 with tow package. Using separate controllers lets the primary fan run & you can set the temp for the 2nd to come on at a higher temp. On mine I was still able to use the core support cover to keep the factory look
Would to say I got more enjoyment out of this movie than I did when I paid 50 bucks for me and my family to go to the theater this what it's all about folks I had to comment twice this channel is so special...
39:20 Still watching the video but wanted to mention before I forget, hope you guys spotted that it looks like the upper radiator hose is at least extremely close to rubbing on the supercharger belt probably because of the difficulties getting the hose to fully seat under that riser.
My first vehicle was a 02 lightning identical appearance wise even down to the chrome dipped factory wheels except it had a billet grill only mod it had was a borla exhaust this was such a awesome build braught back a lot of memories from high school I’m 32 now. Love these trucks always a treat to see one out in public amazing job
Engine masters on motor trend. Name of that video was header bash.....Hot rod editor David freiburger, Steve dulsich, on westec Dyno, also did a very interesting air filter test where a salad bowl with the bottom cut out makes HP, and one popular aftermarket filter kills 130 HP on a 500hp small block........it's totally a fun watch
Also, sorry I judged you on earlier bmw video, didn't know what your channel was about( no offense, but bmw people are usually a certain type) but I respect your ability sir. Nice work
My dad had Craftsman ratcheting wrenches when I was a kid. I am going to estimate 37 or 38 years ago. They were these big stamped steel things with what felt like a 24 tooth mechanism. They were great and novel back ten but have come far in design and usability.
Make sure you clean that throttle plate. When you did the unwrapping on the crate I noticed how much carbon there was. In your last video when first starting it up you tried blipping the throttle and remarked that it was sticking. In this video you mentioned at one point the idle was high and you had to manually shut the throttle body all the way. It’s a beautiful truck. My first job at a ford dealer back in ‘03 was replacing an engine in one that some 16 year old kids parents bought him. He chipped it and sent a rod through the block. Remember him complaining how he could never have anything nice. I thought what a douchebag. I was driving an ‘82 Buick Park Ave at the time that I spent an entire summer working and saving up to buy.
Alex I have to say it ,I absolutely love your channel I get my wrenching fix from your channel. I love the way you leave no project hanging no matter how long it takes and you actually show the process start to finish! hands down Alex" LEGIT STREET CARS" is most certainly in my top 5 tube channels.
Compared to that new Lightening truck beside yours, yours is KILLER! The new one does absolutely nothing for me. It's boring although I know it's insanely fast while the charge is up on it for a few hits I couldn't care less about it. Yours ROCKS!
Great video as always! This one was kinda long and I had to watch it in stages.... lol I'd love to see the truck! Let me know when you're in Canada! 🇨🇦 😉
These past few days watching my crypto portfolio decline is very disheartening. Holding doesn't really profit much. Any ideas on how to earn better on the short run?

Alex, you got a good thing going on there with the crew you have with Peter and Max. And I want to tell you how much I appreciate the fact that you buy and wrench on every-man kind of vehicles. Plus it is readily apparent that you truly enjoy what you do. Keep it up, and I will keep watching!
For my cone filter, I made a metal shield and also ran a large flexi tubing from the lower grill to under the cone. Also installed a temp gauge for the air to the cone. Makes such a difference.
I really enjoyed these Ford lightning videos and I'm also really glad you've branched out and done something other than Mercedes or GM. It really does draw me to your channel when you do out of the box stuff like this.
The Lightening looks awesome. One thing I really miss about trucks that you can't get anymore is just a short bed regular cab truck. Now they are all extra cabs or double cabs.

Sitting in my own 10th gen F150 watching this. Super jealous, you guys did great on this one ☝️
I've been dying to hear this animal of a truck rip down the street, I'm so excited to see what you have in store for it Alex!! Much love brother!
@@Whit3_279 That was the plan but yeah. We are still waiting.
That colour was made for that truck. As I get older I’ve learned to appreciate everything from the big 3. They all have their beauties. This is definitely one of ford’s
Triple tested just failed every time hahaha. You guys did an awesome job in this video!
Only 40 min plus to a hour long videos I go thru and don’t skip once💙 love this channel!!!!!!!
This series reminded me how much I loved my 2001 F150 Supercrew. Black, dropped, machine finished 20s. Kinda want another one now 😅

Absolutely love the Lightning in this color. What an awesome truck. Looks fantastic!
here is a quick tip in doing a cob off restoration put a floor marker on the center line of the wheels. hope this helps you in the future.
That firewall mod ended up looking really good (like the whole chassis project does)
I can not believe how productive and proactive you and Peter are, given the scope and the scale of the ‘Lighting’ project.
Batman and Robin of Ford pickups
Alex love the SVT series!! You and Peter work very well together!!!! I can’t wait until to see the SVT when you swap out the engines!!!!
HDCircuitry LLC makes a plug and play wiring kit for e-fans. Not to mention battery relocation kits and other stuff!
Hey Alex, great to see the truck put back together again. It is also my favorite color on these. Good luck with the car shows. I know it will be well received. Cheers!
at 33:30 the little clip you’re talking about is the clips to hold in thelower/riser bar for the spare tire!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment ☝️ ☝️ I have a package for you ❤️ 🎁 🎁....
the diaphragm in the bypass valve could be ripped the lever would still move and you have no boost or vacuum
Always loved this shape of F150. The best era for pickup design
Looks awesome! Quite the transformation. Peter is an awesome addition.
Alex, you're editing is getting better with each video!
Thanks man. I try. I'm even teaching a young boy named Maximus how to edit.
@@LegitStreetCars I've heard of him, total goner. Don't waste your time!
@@max_edits_stuff i hear he smells like meat in June.
@@Aiurasensei that is absolutely accurate.
Would to say I got more enjoyment out of this movie than I did when I paid 50 bucks for me and my family to go to the theater this what it's all about folks I had to comment twice this channel is so special...
Excellent, I was looking forward to seeing this one finished up!
I love seeing Alex's hand movements in the reflection at the end, the passion is there even off camera!
39:20 Still watching the video but wanted to mention before I forget, hope you guys spotted that it looks like the upper radiator hose is at least extremely close to rubbing on the supercharger belt probably because of the difficulties getting the hose to fully seat under that riser.
Welp, looks like you caught it. Seeing later on plenty of clearance but looks like a little rub mark on the hose where the belt would have hit it. lol
Youre right. Sharp eye
Oh really?
This is so exciting!!! The Lightning turned out great!!! Job well done Alex & Peter!!!! 👍👍🙂
Nice work
wow honestly you guys outdid yourself on this one congrats x
Very much appreciate clean content with no language. Keep up the great work guys!
Those duralast alternators never last. So many dead our of the box lol

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment ☝️ ☝️ I have a package for you ❤️ 🎁 🎁..
Short term trading is much preferable considering the current market fluctuations.
These are what beginners do think, me to I used to think the same way...Thank God I met Mr Tom Hutchinson ...he helped me in trading and inculcate how the market works..
I'm also a proud beneficiary! I've built my portfolio massively and still building. My weekly earnings from his strategies are mind blowing...
Tom Hutchinson is an expert trader, he uses both manual and algorithmic trading techniques while trading ... He is amazing and indeed professional in what he does.
Trading with Mr. Tom Hutchinson has been the right choice I made so far this 2022 at least I've achieved some of my goals, $86,000 and still investing
Ram 2500, 3500 with the Cummins engine still have a mechanical clutch fan. And you can definitely hear it when it kicks on!
