3 months after Amy Winehouse died, Neil Patrick Harris hosted a party serving a "meat platter" on a giant morgue board featuring her dead fake corpse.
He carried A LOT of episodes. Neil was worth it.
Fucking right he did I had no idea he was gay one of the best actors and people

Suit up!
it was also due time to shut the show after so long

Remember - Will Smith refused to unify in fresh prince and left em all in the dirt
What happen?
The guy had a careeer to move on with. Chill
Was he wrong? He was a star and see how big he became and all the success he's had. Why would anyone not move on to better things? You act like he should have kept doing the Fresh Prince because of the others.
Same like Barney. Will was the show. Jerry could’ve done that with Seinfeld. Some shows are dependent upon certain stars way more giving them such leverage. Friends is probably the only show where all 6 main characters were equally important to the show.
@@G4MBITSeinfeld depended a lot on the supporting characters. As much as Seinfeld himself imho.
He may not have been the lead but he was the star
HIMYM had 5 leads. The show was centered around Ted but they had 5 lead roles that all played parts in Ted finding his wife.
Jason Segel wrote and starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall by Season 3. He then went on to lead The Muppets, Five Year Engagement, I Love You Man etc.
I can’t recall a single film NPH has led. Jason had the most star power by the later seasons.
@@JammyWaad Honestly (and I must say I've rewatched the show at leas 8 times in the last 5 years) the character NPH played is what kept me laughing thorugout the whole show. Is so well written it seems like the writters realized Ted wasn't a character that would remain likeable for too long. I love rewatching the show 's first seasons because I loved every character; but once I'm beyond the 5th season, the only thing that motivates me to watch season 6 is knowing that there are some good episodes with Barney leading them. BTW, all of those movies you mentioned were written or produced by Jason Segel himself or his friends, meaning they were meant for him to have a leading role. Perhaps Neil Patrick is not well related which is why he hasn't got any luck on picking up good roles after the show ended.
@@JammyWaadhe maybe had the “ok, I can leave and do my own thing and be ok, can you?”. But while he was important for the show, NPH was essential. At least from my POW.
@@jooohan-i9o Honestly, by the end Barney was the one moving the show along.
The problem with the show as the seasons rolled on was that Marshall and Lilly became a boring married couple and the rest of the cast were no longer this young adventurous group of friends but instead they became these middle aged sad people who`s lives didn`t turn out the way they wanted to.
Wow 250,000 a week its hard to imagine having that kind of money
Most people dont make that kind of money in their life as he made in 1 or 2 months.
@@timothycarey3883 MOST PEOPLE DONT MAKE $2M OVER A 30 OR 40 YEAR CAREER? JESUS THATS SAD

@@l8Os solid maths 😂 can’t fault you there but let’s be sure: 250,000 + 250,000 + 250,000 + 250,000 = 1,000,000. Checks out
@l8Os given the length of the seasons it's about 6 million per year about 3 after taxes. 3 million per year is not that much on the grand scale of things especially when shows like friends and others who's cast made a million per episode.
Bro made the show. I don't blame him. He had more leverage than the rest.
He did carry the show of course but i mean they are all main charecters around one main charecter (the unreliable narrator)
Which is more reason for him to unify WITH the cast and negotiate for more money for all of them or else the show stops.
Just because he’s the main one doesn’t mean he should be the only one to get more money.
That’s asshole behavior.
He and Alyson Hannigan were also a lot more well known than the rest of the cast. Especially Jason Segel who really didn't have a lot of experience yet
He had also already starred as the tittle character in his own show.
thats doesnt make sense bro. He didnt wrote the role, he played it. The reason we love the Character is that someone wrote a script. He played it very good but all of them played there role pretty good. Why should someone get more money just because he was hired for a hyped wirtten character? The person who wrote the script of Barney should get paied more.
Lets be honest, NPH hard carried that show for most of its audience

To be fair the show was dependent on ted and barney more than any other character
Edit. Ted was the main character and barney was the most popular, even if u didn't like Ted the show looses its point without him. As for the worse character its obviously lily, she's married to a teddy bear and she's just terrible to him. Strands Ted after he comes to pick her up from being stranded, leaves Marshall to pursue her dreams, stalks him when he moves on, steals from Ted's boss when Ted gives her a job. forces Marshall to take a job he doesn't like to cover her credit card debt and lies and manipulates him to do instead of being honest about what he was marrying into. Almost leaves Marshall again but this time it's for working a soulless job she gaslight him into taking for her, broke Ted up with multiple of his gfs Including Robin, and at the end of the series Marshall gives up his dream job of being a state judge to pursue her dream AGAIN, for a career she has had for less than a year.
Her entire relationship with Marshall is her putting her dreams over him while at the same time expecting him to put her over his dreams
Fr, he was in the rare position of somehow being more important than the main character, which is completely insane.
Ted was the worst character, even though he was the title character.

That and he was one of the more "known" cast members outside of the show, too. Alyson Hannigan was of similar note with Buffy and American Pie, but How I met your mother was a much bigger deal for the other three actors. I get why NPH was tempted to go for more, but obviously glad he didn't.

Turn it around and look at it the other way - would you have watched a show that was just Barney for as long as you watched How I met Your Mother? It needed all of them together for Barney's antics to mean anything.
And before you disagree with what I've said, think about how a spin-off series like that already happened. It was called Joey and it failed hard

In a show that runs for 8 seasons it is not one dude alone making that happen.

He was the star though
He were making way more than the others before they negotiated
I remember this same thing happened in the show "Friends" they approched David Schwimmer first , and offered big money to stay (they must have thought he was the Anchor of the show) But he told them , he'd get back to them. Then he went to cast mates and said (paraphrasing) "The only thing that can stuff this show up , is Money" So he got them altogether and all of them went into the next meeting , David said we are here to sort out our pay , only claus is we all must be paid the exact same amount to the cent.

Neil patrick harris is awesome, and him playing barney was hilariously ironic if you knew he was gay.
I always thaught he was straight but i remember watching the show with my sister on my little box tv with her and she told me. Had a commercial break and waited with her to continue too watch the rest of the show. I think i was like 12 years old at the time.

they were my favourites...right after Colby and Alyson.
He just knew his worth was higher and could get more money
worth more*, not worth higher
It's funny how some people are claiming NPH "carried" when it's a team effort. The show became great because of the WHOLE cast. You have a group of actors that have been involved in some HUGE comedies individually, so don't think for a second they were "carried." Can it be argued that his character and how he played it were the most popular? Yes, that's a fair argument. He didn't carry it, though. They all deserved the pay as they all put forth amazing work, and the show wouldn't be a 1/4 as good if it was just NPH and some random actors getting their foot in the door.
It’s human nature to say something stupid and the desperately defend it to your dying day rather than accept the embarrassment, and that feeling explains all the people who say he carried
