As an INFJ, I must say that we feel like we don't have the right to speak about our problems, and even if We do when the other person doesn't give us the response we are searching for, they make us feel like we are overreacting. We keep complicating things in our head, but honestly, it is very special to be an INFJ.

“We feel like we don’t have the right to speak about our problems”. WOW. That’s so true. I always feel like my situation is not as bad as others so I have no right to complain. I work hard and demand a lot from myself, but I feel like this is how we’re all expected to live so I don’t look for a better job. My grades are pretty good but I always feel stupid and lazy and won’t be good at the career I’m dreaming of.

When I found out I was an INFJ I finally understood why I always felt a little different and why no one in my family ever understood me.Also, I was always labelled as weird since they are all extroverted. The conflict thing kills me. I literally suffer for days and I still find myself mulling over arguments years later. I like who I am but its not easy being an INFJ surrounded by people who think you are "too sensitive" so those me-time breaks are so important. I might share this video with people in the future who want to understand me better.

I can relate to you, I usually feel that my family is a group of individuals that understand one another better. While, for me I wonder why I'm so different (alien). I love helping them no matter what, but feel that when I ask for understanding they don't and think wrongly. I am rooting for all INFJ's out there to don't feel lonely. Being an INFJ is like a blessing and a curse. My INFJ experience on the blessing part is that I have hope in life. I think that life is beautiful even though their are bad things in it. Those don't last long. I can also live in the moment. Being an INFJ can make you understand the beauty of life. However, the curse is that we're perfectionist and when things dont get done we feel unmotivated. I have a love/hate relationship with myself

No matter how many times I've tested for this, it always results INFJ. Recently, my current boyfriend also had INFJ results after multiple trials. It's both a blessing and a curse to be INFJs. We're both very sensitive about each other's feelings and often have the same principles and outlooks in life. We also have a very keen sense of deciphering people's personalities. It surprises us how we always have common opinions about people. We work harmoniously around the house. No need to discuss roles, the division of work just flows. The downside is that we also both have the same flaws. We much prefer to be with our own company when in a big group of people, so people would think we're weird or family members would think us uncooperative. We either procrastinate a lot on our tasks or we zone out whenever we're so focused on doing something that we can't notice when the other is calling to us. We've both reflected on our good and bad traits and remind each other when we're leaning towards our bad habits again. My favorite part of the day is when both of us share this common silence in a room and we both get to do our hobbies in peace. Occasionally looking up to the other to check if we're doing okay.

I'm an INFJ. I indeed am a great listener. I keep my secrets to myself and I never open up. Everything in this video is true. It's hard to make others understand us. My favourite point is about how everyone gets drawn to us. This is the most accurate thing ever. All we do is just stare at them or maybe nothing and they already start liking us. One of the popular girls made me sit next to her because she wanted me to befriend her. Many people tell that I'm a bit mysterious as I always listen to others and barely share anything about myself. I have the rarest type of INFJ and I'm proud of that.

I'm an older INFJ, so the following words are for my fellow, younger INFJs: yes, the way in which you experience your life will likely be vastly different than they way others around you will experience their lives. Yes, you will usually feel like an alien in this world even though you'll be a chameleon in your everyday interactions at work, etc. Just know that if you live in your truth, guard your heart and share with people who have earned your trust and loyalty, you will be surrounded and valued for who you are, just the way you are. Stay humble and curious. Surround yourself with those who encourage and inspire you, embrace and enforce healthy boundaries (you can still love hard-to-love people without having to be in direct relationship with them), don't be guilted into things that don't sit right with you (use and hone your intuition -- the more you do, the more you'll live in harmony with everything and everyone and, most importantly, with yourself), and don't be afraid because life does get better the more you become your true, essential self.

My life would have been so much more fulfilling, and the people around me wouldn't be so confused trying to relate to me. It's so easy to hurt, and be hurt, when no one understands. I wish there were an easy way to reach all the INFJ's out there with your wise words. Thank you for sharing them.

I would highly recommend confronting all of the things that make you nervous or angry head on, other people will fall in line if you simply show them the path that you have carefully navigated for them.
It doesn't require you to do anything other than what you have deemed necessary. Monkey see, monkey do will take over. Don't take my word for it, do the right thing, the hard thing in each moment and watch what the people around you often start doing.

I understand completely and I'm grateful for your advice. Thankfully, I don't live in a hell environment. Plus, when it comes to kindness, I mostly like to be empathetic.
For example, a few months ago, I went to have my haircut, and a few seats away, there was a 2 year-old boy screaming in fear. His parents were trying to comfort him as the barber tried to cut his hair. Immediately, my heart was breaking for him, because when I was his age, I was exactly the same.
However, I noticed that the barber was selling bags of sweets for charity, and that gave me an idea. Once my haircut was finished, I bought a bag. Then, the difficult part was for me to push my social anxiety aside and give the bag of sweets to one of the parents and explain to them how I knew how their son felt.
And I did. I walked up, gave the sweets to the mum, explained how I was the same when I was 2 years old, and wanted to let the boy feel safe and calm. Both her and the dad were so emotionally happy. Later on, a letter was posted through the door, and it was a thank you card from them. I've kept it close to my heart ever since.
Sorry if this comment seemed quite long.

It's difficult, yeah. I myself only open up to those who I trust. But if I open up, I don't stop. Sometimes I have problems to find the right words, but I don't stop and go on until I have the feeling that Iexplained it like I mean it.
But lately I open up less than a few montgs ago. Maybe it's bcs I don't need totalk about so much bcs I'm happier now, idk. But sometimes I have the feeling I annoy this specific person when tell them my worries again and again. So sometimes I find my own way of dealing with my thoughts (I get better I think), smetimes I go for it...but hesitantly and sometimes I go all in (when I really need help).
I open up to people who I trust deeply but that's really just a few. Atm there's only one person I could tell absolutely anything and sthey wouldn't judge me. So...yeah...and I don't want to annoy them so I sometimes try to hold back :/
I also tried to write down my thoughts and emotions. It's not really a thing for me, but there are a few rimes where it helps me so much. So I type a message to myself and most of the time that's the only thing I need bcs my worries cleared up while reading it after typing 👍 there's too much going on inside my INFJ brain 😮‍💨

I'm an INFJ, and I often feel like I am called upon to be a therapist, although the one who needs therapy the most is me. But, I feel as if I cannot share my feelings, to keep the burden away from others. I've found that writing is a great way to relive some of my internalized pain. I write poems each night, spinning my feelings in to metaphors, as complicated as they are. If you struggle with internalized pain, find something that you can do that expresses your true emotions, that expresses you. But, what do I know, I'm only 14

Oh, be a little careful with psychology videos like this one. The brain doesn't stop developing until you are like 21, and even then we never stop changing, so even if you feel like an INFJ now, your cemented type might be completely different later on.
But, if you do want to be a therapist, know that you can become one regardless of your personality type. Also know that all therapists need a therapist themselves.

I fall under the INFJ-A, but I urge you all to not let these tests define you. Many of us all want to answer our questions with simple labels and take comfort in them, but just because INFJ might be rare don’t let it make you feel “special”. Of course everyone is unique in their own way, but as INFJs we shouldn’t take comfort in these labels because they’ll make you conform to your current life rather than aim higher, and you’ll hate yourself in the future for this.

As another INFJ this was insanely accurate. My friends often confide in me and have given me the constant nickname of "therapist". I do my best helping others, I immerse myself in it. I have a large social circle despite being extremely introverted, and I try to retain a connection with every one of my friends despite the large amount. Even so, I find it extremely difficult to open up. So much so that I fool myself into thinking that I do sometimes.

    • @zagorith14

INFJ's are interesting. Some are considered to be completely introverted and some to be extroverted. In reality, we're ambiverts. Social "chameleons" in a way. We can present as extroverted in groups and that's why being in a large social circle is pretty doable for INFJ's despite preferring smaller groups and more intimate settings with closer friends. So long as we can separate ourselves from continuous socialization. I agree with the confiding and opening things though. As much as I love helping others and them confiding in me, I feel an extreme discomfort talking about my own issues to others. Only opening up to those very, very close to me or those I can sense have similar traumas that make them kindred.

Being an INFJ I can confirm, fact I can see and feel emotions WITHOUT even having to see them. I can hear it in their voice or by the amount they talk.
also being an INFJ you would have to be careful of being manipulated by people. However once you're starting to recognise manipulative behaviours you're going to get used/hurt allot less as you prevent yourself from being. However the only downside is... I personally tend to ignore myself and still get myself manipulated/used

Up until that point I thought I could only know these things when I’m physically observing their expressions and body language but it was like I could FEEL their thoughts / intentions through the way they speak. I guess we observe in our hearing just as much as through sight.

Its okay not to be popular, or the one with the biggest Friend Group. I always thought i have to change myself to be more extroverted, for others to like me more. But why? So very true. I also resonated with everything and it kind of hurts in a way. This video...it's looking into a mirror. I can relate that I used to think and believe there was something wrong with me...for most of my life in fact. That sucks. To go about life believing you're broken and you need to be fixed somehow. But as a personality type this rare, you come to believe that you're the only one like you - and for that reason it's just you and the world. Now I understand it's not just me and while I am different, I'm not just broken. Sometimes I still feel broken though since people don't understand the real me.
I read about these comments where two INFJs found one another and have a happy relationship and I am happy for them. I am approaching my mid 30s and wondering if I should find a way to be happy on my own but I am uncertain what that looks like. I'm talking about true happiness, not just status quo. Should I just be content with a good job? It seems like such a shallow pool I'd be standing in, telling myself this is enough. But would I believe that? Maybe given enough time.
Many say they would not trade their INFJ status; good for them. I am not so sure if I had the chance. I can't seem to reconcile if the trade offs would be worth it.

The only difference is that ours is the most rarest, but being on the internet you see sooo many INFJs that you think how is that possible to be so rare, hahah. @@taurus7119 Finding INFJs on the internet is easy because we're drawn to this central 'location' discussing the very nature of who we are. In the real world, on average and with all things in perfect balance, only 2 people in a room of 100 will be an INFJ. So yeah, we'll run into INFJs in the wild but only rarely and we likely will never know. So the odds of ending up in a relationship with another INFJ just seems like ridiculous odds to me lol. Imagine two INFJs finding one another in a room full of 100 people...
      > _Every personality has different struggles. So why change?_
That is a valid point. Trade the problems I know well for some problems I don't know well.

@@taurus7119 unfortunately, I'd have to disagree
I would trade my INFJ personality type for ENTJ personality type.
Reasons : ENTJ is a natural leader, bold, imaginative, strategic, analytical, logical, considered to be one of the most successful personality types, so in other words, if I got a choice I'd definitely choose ENTJ
Sure ENTJ isn't perfect, they struggle with emotions, can be impulsive / pushy sometimes, argumentative / stubborn, but that's a small price to pay given all the benefits of being an ENTJ
Well I know I am who I am and can't change and all that. However, by the theory of behaviorism, we inherit traits from our environment, meaning I could potentially inherit some ENTJ traits by being around ENTJs in real life.

As a INFJ, I personally have a love/hate relationship with my personality, and it being rare, to be honest, only makes me feel frustrated and more lonely, which is weird because I'm person that people go to when they feel lonely or misunderstood, but at the same time, I don't want to give up on my personality either, which creates this feeling me being dissatisfied with myself, but very aware that it is just an emotion that will pass... Eventually at least that is what I hear from older INFJs.

You know, it's crazy how true people gravitating towards you is. I work in a job that tends to be a lot of socialization and interaction with others but at times I become "overwhelmed" and kind of get lost in my own mind as a way to separate myself and decompress. Despite me undoubtedly looking depressed or lost, people will come up to me, stand next to me, and start talking about their issues. I've even had people tell me that they don't know why but they almost felt compelled to talk to me about their issues. Like I exuded some kind of friendly energy and positive vibe. Coupled with loving to help them and truly loving those around me, I really find joy in these interactions. And, as crazy as it sounds, I've really grown to love and understand myself better as a result of knowing my personality type. It just can be so exhausting sometimes.

I am an INFJ-T, who is also highly sensitive and a high avechier, I can relate. I have realised that I can change hobbies (so people will love me more) but when someone is questioning my inner values and principles, I get mad easily. I try to please everyone and this also makes me concerned about what others think of me, this is also why I am so quilet sometimes, because I calculate what I will say or not say anything in the fear of someone thinking something bad about me, about my attidute, about my grades (They are very used to me having straight A's) about my voice tone and literally everything I do. "Go hard or go home" relatable, even it is for fun, I try to be the best. Then accuse myself for being "selfish". It is hard for me to speak my emotions, due to my fear of being judged, I usually write or tell it to my non-existent imaginary friends. Here in my country, the president is making a social Media law that doesn't allow us to speak our opinions. (the truth) and if I was older, I swear I would show how I disagree to this law. Yes, there are struggles of being an INFJ, but they have the capasity to change the world, don't worry, INFJ's!

As an INFJ, I personally relate to everything that was mentioned in the video at the same time I don't. It's probably due to the fact that I'm a turbulent advocate. The all-or-nothing part got me developing a perfectionist attitude that usually annoys everyone. I'm usually self-destructive but I can still give a sound intuitive advice, and topped with the easy burnouts, people usually come to me and disappears the next day. I do openly and freely want to help but sometimes that really kind of hurt me knowing people only comes to me whenever THEY need help and can't be bothered the next when the tables have turned. Also, I unintentionally communicate really well and say the things they want to hear at the spur-of-the-moment but whenever I try to think of things to say I end up resetting all the social skills I supposedly have and it's extremely frustrating. I also don't like how I feel concerned about what others think of me while I self-destruct and not sleep, eat and work well. That feeling that I know I can do something for myself but when I attempt to do it, I don't feel like doing it anymore. All these about myself makes so much sense to me at the same time it doesn't which is aggravating since I know I have to face this alone because no one else is there to help me. :/

I got INFP-T in 16personalities (SURPRISE!!🥳, like everyone) and knowing about functions I knew I have Ne, so I was an XNXP and I still with the INFP, then I thought that my Ne was too strong to be at the second place, so I was an ENXP and I continue with the ENFP. Everything to finally decide that I was an ENTP.
So even knowing about functions is a long way getting to know your true type but 16personalities doesn't give any information

For me personally, I feel that being an infj is "special" and yet not, because you can never truly categorize someone into a "personality type" because everyone has different experiences and mindsets (although some are similar).
I have taken personality tests multiple times and every time I've gotten infj, but I feel that "assigning" four letters to a person can take away from that person's core being.
All of this may be useless nonsense, but I felt like sharing today so here you go.

In fact, if you know the subject of personalities in depth, you are aware that the four letters are just something indicative, which shows thoughts, behaviors, etc. which are more frequent in certain individuals in a very general way. To give an example: I am an INFJ and everything that was said in the video made me exclaim "but she is really talking about me!" because they are behaviors and thoughts that INFJs have in common, but I can be different from another INFJ because I could be more or less Introverted, Intuitive, etc. and of course everyone has their own life experiences.

discovering INFJ as my personality type was a major stepping stone in understanding myself and why everything just feels so ridiculously complicated. it's like you have a very conflicting set of drives that creates a unique view on life, but are opposite focus points. The strongest 'pilot' for INFJ's is introverted intuition. They perceive and analyse everything, they are driven by their inner complex worlds and conclusions of those constructs, but their second pilot is extraverted feeling, which has to do with understanding others beyond mere perception, both the functionality of that other as a individual and a group, usually neglecting inner needs based on feeling, for the greater good of the exterior/group. it's like you are in a constant battle between your focus points. :'-)

I love to help other people and their issues, while I hate talking about my issues. Everyone definitely gravitates towards me, I often feel like a confessions lol, they come to me for advice or venting all the time, I have multiple hobbies, I have a knack for learning languages, I follow my heart and intuition 98% of the time, I can't stand when someone is insincere and likes to debate and argue, I consider others feelings all the time and tend to their needs before my own, I enjoy seeing others be able to grow and better themselves on their own, I have strong morals and values and I'm not easily convinced otherwise, it's nearly impossible to change my mind on certain things. When I love I love deeply, and I value deep connections over superficial ones. I value honest, truth and loyalty, and I do not bode well with deceitful and two faced people. They can keep their personalities to themselves and I wish them the best in life but I will not be included in theirs. I also frequently feel misunderstood. and so on :) Thanks for the video! I got the result of being an INFJ multiple times and I relate to most attributes. The only thing I don't think I am is an introvert. I always thought of myself as an extrovert but in the past like 2 years I've realized that it strongly depends on the people I'm surrounded with and how comfortable I am with them. When I'm surrounded by people who make me feel off, I feel drained after a short period of time and need some alone time. But when I'm with people who make me feel good and accepted, I get really loud and outgoing and I could go on forever. I guess it kinda fits into the "feeling the vibes and acting accordingly" category of this personality type. I'm proud to be an INFJ tbh

I’m so proud to be an INFJ! I have trouble with friends because when I don’t know enough about them, I find it hard to stay passionate around them. I want a friend that i know A LOT about and agrees with my perspective and such. I struggle with my friends now because even though I see them everyday I don’t know a lot about them and they are so different from me. It’s nice to know that I got a special personality, though! But it also adds to the pressure to put it to use. When I heard that the biggest fear to an INFJ was not putting in their full potential I couldn’t agree more. I’m scared I won’t be able to make the lasting impact I want to in this world, of course I have a lot of time since I’m a young teenager, but I’m scared I won’t be able to do what I feel I am in this world to do. Like what others say, being an INFJ is wonderful, but it’s also awful. I don’t think I would want to be anything else, though.

I often feel overwhelmed by emotions - not only mine, but the emotions of others as well - and I find it very hard to find an "anchor" to keep me grounded. I have GAD and social anxiety due to the fact that I always try to please other people. And obviously when I fail, I feel miserable and I go into panic mode. It can be very, very, veeery consuming but it's also beautiful. I don't think I would change the way I can look at the world around me, because - in spite of all the struggle - I like being so much in contact with emotions. I once thought I found one people that can understand me fully and got myself too deep into it and when things went ugly the hurt for INFJs are double. Meanwhile, I as well took the test three times
However, the result was always different (one of them was INFJ) 😑
However, each of those three do compliment my personality 😊

    Idk if I am an INFJ because I haven’t taken a personality test yet, but here’s some things about myself;
    1. I used to be crazy dedicated to improving my speed for speedcubing (speedcubing is solving the rubik’s cube within a matter of seconds), and i’d practice new algorithms so much and i’d get faster each time, and i’d always challenge myself to beat my personal record. I was never satisfied until i hit a sub-15s time. After a little over 2 years of doing that, I got really burnt out and didn’t practice as much anymore.
    2. I have a crush on this South Korean girl in my class at uni (im a 22yo Malaysian male), and I have been writing a personal diary to document my thoughts and feelings. I feel that this was the best way of capturing what I am experiencing and reading back on them always made me smile because I know I wrote them from my heart.
    3. Relating back to point number 2, i often worry about what my crush thinks of me after all the interactions we’ve had together, both in-person and through text. I try to forget that worry, but she is someone special to me and her feelings automatically become important to me.
    4. I listen very carefully whenever a friend is sharing his or her story, and i never interject in between.

So I really am an INFJ.. This is totally me. I've always felt like I'm different than the others of my family and friends. Sometimes that difference felt like odd and weird. I really hated being like that. It's so hard to be open up to people and talk about what I have on my mind. Writing makes me feel much better. I wanna write a book one day but for my lack of confidence, I always gave up in the midst of writing. Hope I can somehow finish writing a book one day. I don't want anyone to understand me cause it's very hard but I just hope they won't find me weird and let me live my life like this. And hope they'll see the good I'm trying to do. Also I must mention that you have a very warm and nice soothing voice that can make someone's day better :)

taking the test and getting my results that i am an infj, and watching this just solidifies that i really am this personality type. as and infj its hard to find and keep good friends who want to hear you out and stick around for not wanting to open up so easily. also the raging anxiety you get when you are around new people and don’t know how they feel/ think about you.

First-- I'm very grateful to have, at this late stage, come across my own personality type, since I always suspected something like it but never had a description.
Many things make much more sense to me now.
Second-- and I mean absolutely nothing untoward saying this, or any sexism or disrespect-- the woman narrating the video has the most delicious and feminine voice I've ever heard. My compliments to her!
    Wishing each of you well.

I have been taking more personality tests in my MFA courses because I'm close to getting my online teaching certification. Testing as an INFJ gave me more insight to what kind of teacher I can be as long as I balance my expectations, establish professional boundaries and avoid burnout. Thanks for the upload!

As an INFJ here, I feel this was all very spot on relatable! 😯 Also, I love the cute animations 😄 It’s kind of hard sometimes with it being a rare personality type, not many people out there to relate.
