I live in Perth so Ronny is a local and love his channel for local based content, but have been a long time follow your TR as I'm a Jeeper. Was amazing seeing you both together in one vid, you both did a great job.
That man is iconic and synonymous with wheeling down under and generally anything 4x4 related. A walking cache of knowledge. I've always been intrigued with The Aussie's approach to their builds, where Land Cruisers and Hilux reign supreme...the bar work, the chops, conversions, trays. It's truly a culture within itself. Lovely terrain on that Continent...I'm going to put wheeling there someday on my bucket list for sure.
a pre run inspection of each others rigs is SUCH A GREAT IDEA! Why haven't I heard this one before? This should be said and done more often. THanks TR, and Ronny, great tips!
Good commentary and info, thanks guys. Just on the wine, I have a small collection of 2lt wine bladders I rewash. I can put a good bottle of wine from the cellar into a bladder, remove all the air and it is not only lightweight but lasts for a week without oxydising.
The attitude of gratitude along with proper planning goes a heck of a long way when rolling out into the bush for overland adventures. Great conversation!
Im in no means a 4wd guy, I’ve even don’t own a 4wd car but man i cant stop watching both of your channels. Fun collaboration with both of you guys. Keep the great videos coming and big thumbs up for this one.
I need to get out west to all the fun overland places and super scenic places. My yearning for adventure grows bigger and bigger and makes me work harder and harder towards the goal of owning an FJ cruiser so I can go places.
Over the last 4 months since I got my Jeep. I follow Trail Recon for mods and jeep stuff, and Ronny for camping, 4WD tips and routes in WA, Australia. Great to see you both together with great tips. Well done!
It was great to meet and chat with Ronny, Torbin Amalia and briefly you Brad at the Expo. All genuinely friendly folks. Thanks for showing my Ex-Aussie military LR in your Expo overview vid. I was with the four wheeler mag trip. Keep up the good work!
I love watching both of you guys! Welcome to the US Roney! I would love to go on a trip with both of you, Brad in the western US and Roney down under. Bucket list...
Wow good to see you and Ron, two legends I admire, at one place and learning some oft ignored points from you guys. Great. The other day I was so happy to see Lite and Brite people on your channel. Thanks .
Thanks guys. Your info has really helped me so much along the way of setting up my Wrangler. Always a great peice of mind and new things to learn. You all ROCK!
Great collaboration with Ronny on this video. Really good info, but man you guys were on point about being with the right people! Good people on a trip that has a lot of issues that come up can make for fun memories or the wrong people can ruin a trip no matter how beautiful the surroundings are.
Great discussion from both of you, Roger is right something like this should be a learning point for others. Shame I missed meeting Ronny as well would have loved to have a talk, sadly had to take off Sunday morning for our 2 day trek home, great content as usual Brad!!! Still missed getting a sticker from you though LOL
Regarding tools and reducing weight. I don't think you need a full set of wrenches and fullsets of 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 drive sockets. Bring tools that match the fasteners on your jeep. You can leave 90% of the tools behind since they dont actually fit any nuts and bolts on yourrig.
Oh man, I skipped Overland West this year and who did I miss meeting? Ronny Dhal....damn it! Wish I'd have been there. Don't suppose any of you all are going to Overland Rally Northwest in Washington next month are ya?
Hey Trailrecon, now you should fly to Australia and interview Ronny and maybe get the chance to drive his VDJ79 Cruiser. NOTE: You wont see lots of 4x4s running 37 inch or larger larger tires like 42s,46s, coilover suspension etc.
Semper Fi’ Master Chief! I’m currently deployed and a new subscriber to your channel. Native of Hemet and enjoy your coverage of the the Anza-Borrego area as it reminds me of home. Do you get up to Idyllwild, Garner Valley or the San Jacinto Mountains much? Enjoyed your honest assessment of the Smittybuilt RTT. I too own that awesome tent on a 4-banger TJ. Traveling from Twnetynine Palms to the Idyllwild Mountains for camping isn’t as bad as one might think considering the smaller engine. Have you thought about continuing a Q&A session similar to the one you did in the tent review? I think there’s some real value to be had there and maybe even a transitional Podcast as well? Just a thought. Great work on the channel. Now my #1 recommendation for Jeep Overlanding interests.
TrailRecon Get out of here, your too humble Master Chief!! Thank YOU for your service! I sure hope this is what retirement looks like for me! I’m at 20yrs now, but trying to push to 30yrs. Maybe I’ll see you out and about when I rotate back. Sure would like to try some of the Carne Asada Marco cooks-up! If you’re passing through Anza and you need a quick bite - Recommend “La Cocina” for shredded beef tacos...Passing through the High Desert - “Castaneda’s” (formerly “Santana’s”) for California Burritos. Breakfast or Carne Asada!
Another great video, Brad. Would like to see you do something on the Radio gear you carry and do you have HF in case of need to call for emergency? N0ZBH
Two TH-camrs who I thought I'd never see together! Awesome!
It was great to get to meet... hopefully we can do it again!
@@TrailRecon Keen to do it again mate looking forward to editing the modified :D
Great to see Ronny Dahl (I am a huge fan) thanks Brad, good stuff.
Brad is lucky he got this interview.

Someone was paying attention!
Good eye mate.
I need to get out west to all the fun overland places and super scenic places. My yearning for adventure grows bigger and bigger and makes me work harder and harder towards the goal of owning an FJ cruiser so I can go places.
Great video. This should be a prerequisite for anyone wishing to go on an overland trek. You two did a fabulous job.
So awesome!! It’s exciting man! Ronny Dahl!! Yeah!
Over the last 4 months since I got my Jeep. I follow Trail Recon for mods and jeep stuff, and Ronny for camping, 4WD tips and routes in WA, Australia. Great to see you both together with great tips. Well done!

I read loads of his books when I was younger, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a real favourite!
It was great to meet and chat with Ronny, Torbin Amalia and briefly you Brad at the Expo. All genuinely friendly folks. Thanks for showing my Ex-Aussie military LR in your Expo overview vid. I was with the four wheeler mag trip. Keep up the good work!

How awesome to see you two together.
Saw tons of Brad and Marco at the event, but never knew Ronny was there and never saw him. Nice vid Brad.
Great collaboration with Ronny on this video. Really good info, but man you guys were on point about being with the right people! Good people on a trip that has a lot of issues that come up can make for fun memories or the wrong people can ruin a trip no matter how beautiful the surroundings are.
The people you wheel can make the difference between a great trip and an epic trip!

I follow both of you avidly from Dubai. And I think you two should do a long trip together and share your knowledge. C'mon, what do you say?!
Two of my favourite TH-cam presenters on the screen at the same time! Wonderful! Still prefer Britney (Lite Brite), 'cos she's better looking!
Two great TH-camrs! Great video.
