    There is no point having these schools, taking your child to these schools will damage them they have no clue. I am so glad I went to a normal school.

    It's very funny to me when I think about the girl school. I mean how do these girls actually recognise their friends??? Eyes, glasses and voices. Brilliant! A school picture would be nice. "Look, mum, this is me, right here! No, no, that's Julie, I'm on her left, mum!" hahahaha

    But when the righteous are asked, 'What has your Lord sent down?' They say, 'all that is good'. There is good in the world for those who do good, and the abode of the Hereafter is even better. How excellent is the home of the righteous!" (Qur'an 16:30)

    Religious discrimination has nothing to do with "balancing out state-religion", and European state doesn't allow religious discrimination. Even if this was allowed for "balancing state-religion", it would be hypocritical that religious minorities in Muslim countries also are banned from preaching publicly or building new religious buildings. Then it would still not be about minority/majority religion, but about specific rules for specific religions.

    "...(5) may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims' buildings, though if they acquire a tall house,
    it is not razed;
    (6) are forbidden to openly display wine or pork, (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite
    the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays;
    (7) and are forbidden to build new churches."
    However, it's only the people of some faiths (namely Christians, Jews, Zoraoastrians, Samarians, Sabians) who can become dhimmis (protected).

    9':35" "its very easy for them to read into the medieval text, which were written at a time when islam was under attack"
    There are a number of problems with this statement:
    1) the Quran contains tons of scritptures that mandate violence and intolerance towards unbelievers, not in a context of self-defence, but in a context of offensive jihad
    2)The Quran is supposed to be the eternal and perfect will of Allah, not written for a specific historical context but containing revelations that are supposed to apply to every muslim in every context. (that is what Allah says in the Quran...Muslims are not supposed to pick and choose the bits of the Quran they like, and just ignore the passages that they decide are not valid anymore....based on their own random criteria)
    So....the radicals are the ones who are following the true islam.
    The moderate muslims are just in denial or are totally ignorant about what the Quran is talking about.

    A 2011 poll from Pew Research shows that only 2-4 % of the people in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian ter. and Pakistan have a "favorable" view of Jews, while in Indonesia it's 9%. The same poll also finds that "as in the past, Muslims express more unfavorable opinions about Christians than Americans or Europeans express about Muslims." So the concern should really be about the Christo/Western/Judeo-phobia of Muslims.

    I don't understand the context argument. I know there are historical contexts to religious texts, but if you're going to make that argument, why not make the argument a non-believer makes? "The whole thing is the product of a historical and cultural context, not a supernatural deity."

  • @madsmadser

    The guide also says at page 239, chapter o1.2 that a Muslim is not subject to retaliation for killing a non-Muslims. According to the Shafi and Maliki schools, the amount of the blood money paid to the family of a killed non-Muslim is respectively a third and a half of the price of the killing of a Muslim. By the way, the certified english translation of the Reliance of the Traveller is freely available in pdf at: "shafiifiqh(.)com/maktabah/relianceoftraveller(.)pdf".

    when I say American church, im using it as a term for a subculture :) your right though, its prob not the best term. lots Christian schools do have a required course in OT, and a lot of curriculum is both biblical Greek and Hebrew, so I'm not really getting why you don't think people study it, but it doesn't pop up during church services much

    Roman Catholic missionary schools are widespread in other countries even in Muslim countries.In Pakistan,christian schools have never been closed down and they are widespread.Many charge Muslim students regular tuition fee,while christian students study for free.They are allowed to put up crosses over the buildings.
    No one has raised any objection to their discriminatory practices.

    Do you have any surveys that can back that up? No mainstream or recognized Christian institutions teach that, but it's impossible to control what individuals and smaller groups and cults teach. The "fear" of Islam/Muslims comes from what people do in the name of Islam.

As far as I've been able to find out, there have not been widespread systematically persecution, only war between the Spanish and the native Muslim converts. A lot of North and South American natives were killed indeed, but I haven't really heard of any religious justification for that.

    That´s true, althought the majority of the Christians remian heavily anti-Jewish. Plus, most of the christians that "explore" the Torah and Judaism ended up converting to Judaism. I´m not saying all Christians are bad, but the majority either practice at the extreme or don´t practice at all. I myself grew up as a Catholic and later became Lutheran, but through Bible reading you realiza Christianity is not sticking to its principles; something which is becoming sadly common in most religions

    And this hate is now removed from practice by interpretation or spiritualization, just read the certified 'Reliance of the Traveller' Islamic manual, where hate against non-Muslim turns into state-discrimination and persecution. This is the teachings of religious authorities! What do you think the reaction would be if the Pope said mosques should be banned in all Christian countries, that Muslim's should be special taxes, and weren't allowed to preach or deny the deity of Jesus in public?

    A. When the Holy Quran says that it speaks against those from Christians and Jews who had gone astray. Plus, in the Holy Quran it also says:
    O children of Israel! call to mind My favor which I bestowed on you and that I made you excel the nations.
    Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear for them, nor shall they grieve.

    Verse 3:110 says "Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors."
    Notice that it says "most of them are perverted transgressors". This is not just about a minority.Most other verses simply says "disbelievers", which some people also thinks means Christians and Jews.

    im going to half to disagree with the 1st statement, the American Church has been extremely supportive of Israel and its actually 1 of the issues many Christian organizations have with Obama. Since most bible scholars have to study the old testament, most everyone with a degree in biblical studies has to explore a little :) Funny thing, a number of Israelis aren't super fond of Christians (they convert Jewish Israelis)...meh, we'll continue them anyway

    I used to think that racism and prejudice had mostly gone away (I was born in Canada) but the more I travel I see people hurting and even killing other people because of their own hate and bigotry. I´ve even heard some family members say racist things which is odd becuase I am a mix of several cultures. It made me think how easily one´s anger and ignorance can turn into power or support at the ballot box for the extreme or even lead to violence.

    If we take "Islamophobia" (and thus also fear/dislike of other political ideologies) as a real phobia, Fascistphobia would probably be the biggest one in Europe, as there are groups such as "United Against Fascism", "Anti-Fascist Action" in several European countries. I know that in my country, a political party that have candidates who are former members of a self-proclaimed militant anti-fascist organization.

    First, I agree that little of the knowledge pastors or priests have is being taught at the Churches (instead they focus on politics; as much as Muslims do). Second, I do think the Jewish people in Palestine (and elsewhere) might be at risk, but Israel provokes much anger against them in a previously friendly environment like the Muslim world (if you see history you will see that many Jews persecuted in Europe fled for Muslim lands in North Africa and the Ottoman Empire)

    @Madzombie51 The first is not a good argument at all. Self-deception might make you feel better for a while, but it is not in any way a good solution for dealing with the hardship we must all face in life. She could just as well pretend it was a bad dream, and that her child is living as prince/princess in a distant land (much the same thing come to think of it.)

    As Islam is identity politics (ie. culture/religion/identity is basis for politics), I wouldn't
    say it's possible to have a "phobia", which is an irrational fear, against it. Similarly, the idea of Naziophobia would be absurd, as it's a political ideology, even though it has religious aspects to it (look up 'Positive Christianity').

    I'd really wanna keep those things I like to do. Like, you know, LISTENING TO MUSIC, celebrate my birthday, play games with the same and opposite sex, together, like equals. I mean, come on people! What the hell is so wrong, devious and immoral for lighting up a few candles on top of a cake and having fun with your friends once a year! Sure, candles sort of pose a fire hazard, but weren't fire blankets, extinguishers and "stop, drop and roll" invented for situations like these? XD

    All powerful Empires becomes imperialist and impose it's own customs over other peoples, and that also includes pretty much every one of the Caliphates, who invaded the predominantly Christian Middle East, North Africa, Spain, Sicily, South-Western France (for a shorter period), as well as Asia all the way across India into modern day Bangladesh, Greece and the Balkans into Hungary and Austria.

  • @ImperialKaiserk
    @ImperialKaiserk 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, first of all, there is no such thing as an "American Church" because State and Church run separately; what you might mean is that some Churches (mainly "Evangelical") support Israel; which is true. Second, not all Christians support Israeli occupation of Palestine (ex. some Baptists churches). Second; yes is true that many pastors explore the Bible a little; but what I meant is a deep exploring of the Old Testament (rather than the New one which is the focus for many Churches today)

    (continuation from last)... Of course this is a high number, but compare them to these: On the 30th December 1066, about 4000 Jews were massacred in Granada, in 1010-1013 about 2000 Jews "persihed" in Cordoba. These two incidents killed about as many as the whole Spanish inquisition, and there are several more massacres, and also forced conversions of thousands of Jews by the Almohads. The reason behind the massacres were the liberal laws towards the dhimmis.

    @Madzombie51 I don't really understand what you think is gonna happen in Australia? Are you going to ban all other faiths? What a huge step forward...
    We have the same hate-speech laws as you do, and the Muslims who preach hate and intolerance (which is what I think the whole Quran is about, but I digress) are subject to the same laws as any other hate-mongers. Should the Muslim hate-mongers have special, extra hard laws?
    Is their irrational hate worse than other forms of irrational hate?

    @Madzombie51 I called the religious fundies in government loonies. It doesn't matter if they are Aussies or not. However, after reading more on the political landscape in Australia, I now see that Family First has gotten a lot more media attention than they really deserve.
    The Bible is no more benign than the Quran, if you study what is written. Both have their good parts and their bad parts, so I think it is strange to pick one side over the other. Most muslims in the west are good people too.

    @dunbar9finger (The only path to modernity being, of course, the recognition that morality should not come from a faith-based source but from a basis of observation of the actual effects you can really witness. Never sacrifice humane treatment in *this* life in exchange for hoped-for better lifestyles in an afterlife you have no reason to believe exists. Maximize the human potential in the here and now, not in the imaginary afterlife.)

    But I think that Muslims should not attack Jews because this just makes Israel a necessity for Jewish safety; instead, I think Israel and Palestine should merge, so that Muslims, Jews and Christians can coexist peacefully. It is my humble opinion though; what do you think?

    Is there any limit to free speech and freedom of thought in Anglo-saxon societies? It looks like that anything goes. I also beleive in free speech and freedom of thougth but aswell in pragmatism.
    I am from an EU country and we also have a muslim schoold but it has to follow the national education system and any child of any religion can attend so I guess you did not had to leave EU to demand the same rules applied to muslim schools in the UK .
    Therefore you have choose to allow any type of extend freedom to every kind of thougth I guess that schools promoting nazism and where only blond blue eyed children or with a DNA certifcation of Europeanism can attend could be possible all in the name of free speech and freedom of thougth.
    This video was published FIVE YEARS after the attack of 7th July 2005, (and 9 days after another muslim extremist attack) so I am wondering how many years do you need to understand there you are at war with a particular and well identified specific (salafists) group of people?
    Is it possible that today, almost 7 years after the publication of this video, things remain exactly as described?
    Well, I suppose your elites would find unpolite to confront Saudis and the other golf states and most of all, inconvenient in several ways.
    P.S. The west is behaving with the Golf States exactly like a junkie with his dealer. Ok, I got it, Venezuela is the problem.

    I think that perhaps England is doomed;
    The "best" part, the current government is totally loving faith-schools

    @DutchNordic Why don't you just get a Qur'an and read that instead of beleive what is said by non-muslims? Get a Qur'an and research taht, not the internet, not TV, not books written by non-Muslims. just and English translated Qur'an

    @lilhazedon learn some grammar first i guess, and regarding freedom of speech, the law would give power to stop extreme fundamental extremist behavior which would affect the safety of the country. Secondly, if a person would move to another country, they should learn and adapt to their culture and tradition, moving to another country and causing riots, would be classified as invasion. I am not British myself, and i lived in England for more than 11 years, and i integrated well.

    Islamophobic state-sponsored material in schools? Try to watch: "watch?v=HW5B_F2luAA". These school-books are in the US, which is way more conservative than Britain.

    @Madzombie51 I don't know why you are acting so obnoxious, you got pms or something?
    I said I think it's better if the religious groups are kept at the fringes of society, rather than in the government. I don't think ANY of them has anything good to contribute to society. The bible? "spare the rod spoil the child", yeah, we can learn so much good from it.
    With that said, now that I have read a bit more on the political landscape of Australian, it appears more or less identical with Europe's.
