Do they have to be rich? I always think to let them live in your home before you suggest that of someone else. Nobody would buy and fix up homes if there was a law they'd have to start letting people live there for free which causes more homelessness. Gotta be realistic and think about the consequences of our actions and stop blaming rich people for everything. You don't need to be rich to let someone live in your house or to buy a shack
And what do you do when you have a home for homeless person who's addicted to crack or an alcoholic? How are they supposed to work and pay bills when they can't even control their own lives? Just giving someone a home doesn't magically make everything better. There's so many people on the streets that are psychotic and skitzofrenix and have mental disorders. They can't just live a normal life in a home just because you give them one.
Iv'e noticed that every time you ask someone 'If you had 3 wishes" none of them wish to be rich or win lotto. It really shows money means shit. They just want to get back to a normal everyday life like the rest of us.
I showed kindness to people experiencing homelessness in my last apartment. They too had certain behavior which caused me to lose that place. I believe that these folks often do not have full control over their behavior and that what they need is comprehensive, wrap-around help. One person with one modality of help is not enuf. They need a legit income and they need help with substance abuse and mental illness. Not Law Enforcement! Law Enforcement is not mental health care! This kind of help cannot be given by a municipality or govt. agency. It must come from the general population. If the gen pop doesn't care, the problem will not be solved.
It is difficult to discern which one homelessness is good and won't have bad intentions toward the helper. With addiction and mental issues that is even more complicated than anyone can imagine.

i was almost homeless in Birmingham UK - just for a day - the other homeless people were absolutely horrible - they wouldn't give me any help at all, hassled and ridiculed me. I always gave homeless people a little money when they pan-handled on the streets, after that experience i won't help them any more
I have traveled to 300 cities spending time with homeless people. I’ve only one time out of 12 years had a problem. There are good and bad people Every social-economic level. Look at politicians for example. They can be nasty.
Another Mark, Mark Laita, does much the same on his channel, Soft White Underbelly. He has a studio in Skid Row where he invites the local street people to tell the harrowing stories of their past in long format. The main difference is that it's darker and very raw.
He didn't know his so-called friend was growing cannabis in back of his flat. Uh huh. Right. Sure thing. I'll bet. No idea. Doesn't mention any legal means of paying for his flat.
When you think about it, homelessness, or rough sleeping, whatever you want to call it has been going on since the Victorian days where the poorer working class people either lived in absolute squalor for housing or slept rough on the streets. There was no national assistance in monetary terms back then, only soup kitchens. Fast forward to 2021 and the housing has got better with modernisation but too expensive for most people to rent, let alone buy. People with jobs and kids are still having to claim monetary assistance with Universal credit to help top up the minimum wage. Nothing has changed very much at all and I don't think it ever will.

I feel the main problem is substance abuse. I’m from Manchester and as a teenager I used to see many homeless people. I could tell then that most of them had issues regarding mental health and/or substance abuse. It made me realise that the person who can help you the most is yourself. That’s where real change begins. Help yourself and others will support you. That’s the beauty of humanity.
What happends in England/USA is coming slowly to Sweden, in about 10 years from now the rents here is gonna easy be up as 1800-3000 dollar and people will have to do what they do in Paris by moving 2 famillies in one apartment, homeless does not exist here however but it will be if the companies jacking it up!
I lived in Sweden for over 5 years. Homelessness does exist, you might just not know about it but there’s plenty of homeless people in the 3 main cities. I’ve documented it myself.
@Dawn Yae There are more shootings then it was for 10 years ago and more burning of cars. But i think Germany and croatia is more dangerous then Sweden, not to mention London!

So many homeless in Manchester. I often used to chat to them qhen passing through and most of them were well educated and had worked most of their lives and just been unlucky.
Am in Manchester tomorrow. I’m from London if I can help him with some funds and food please let me know. Pleasure to help him. I can put him up in a nice hotel too
B&B here in the U.K. means the same as in the States, there’s some that basically cater to the homeless in Cities and Towns but many in Holiday Spots are beautiful. I’ve been in many but I think the guy just got a little confused. There’s B&B’s in London, places like that, mainly seaside towns which a full of them. I’ve seen this gentleman a few times as I’m a Street Photographer from Manchester and when he says you have to watch out for the other homeless people and many that are just pretending to be homeless, yes there’s plenty of them but they know they can make a good living from begging, but, I mean “aggressive begging”. Not sitting with a cup on front of you hoping someone will even buy you a hot drink or food, which I prefer to do as I don’t want to give money to anyone that is just going to go to Piccadilly Gardens to pick up Spice.
@@InvisiblePeople The ones here aren’t really real B&B’s, like yours nearly all of them here are holiday accommodation but some popped up where because they are either unable or unwilling to upgrade the accommodation they can’t compete with the budget hotel chains so the only clients are the homeless. There are only one or two of these places though but there just isn’t the free hostel places available to cater for the growing homeless population

Peter is articulate and conveys his circumstances well, His friend took advantage and made him homeless, Hopefully he finds the help and support he needs to get his life back on track. What a great update it would be if now Peter is housed and is involved in his sons life. Best Wishes to all those who find themselves unhoused and everyone working to END HOMELESSNESS.
I slept rough on of 20 yes now 10 yrs clean in property 6 years loving ❤️ life my family my kids grandchildren 4 cats one thing he knew cannabis was growing in his flat
Unless you run a shelter, you cannot always let people come and live with you. People with no responsibility take advantage of your hospitality. The guy was looking for a way to do something criminal and needed a place. I had to take in some one before, but my place had a one-week limit, so I didn't have to worry about people pleasing. But I also was homeless and had to live in shelters and with family, and I made sure to do right by the place and the people. This baby just breaks my heart. Peter was just trying to help a friend and got burned in the process.
Hope this guy makes it out. I’ve seen many kind souls come to road bumps letting homeless people house with them and rehabilitate. Then again, who knows if he was in on the weed growing project, but there’s no reason not to believe him. He also took responsibility which is pretty mature of him regardless if he knew or not. So many homeless in Manchester. I often used to chat to them qhen passing through and most of them were well educated and had worked most of their lives and just been unlucky.
Also want to point out B &b's are also bed and breakfast in the UK and usually pretty nice :)
Is there a fundraiser for Peter set up?
Hi, I live in Manchester I’ve been watching your videos for a while now I think it’s great what you do. I would love to meet with you
Am in Manchester tomorrow. I’m from London if I can help him with some funds and food please let me know. Pleasure to help him. I can put him up in a nice hotel too
This was filmed two years ago.
@@myoldvhstapes ok thanks. If your ever in England we shall be happy to help homeless people with funds. Food and accommodation
Lessen here, keep away from drugs, don’t go down the slippery slope
heartbreaking....
I should have explained better. Sorry. Here in the US, there are not B&Bs for low income accommodations. That’s the difference
God Bless you both!🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇
Mark...you should visit Boston Massachusetts the homelessness epidemic out there is outrageous on top of crazy crazy drug addiction I'd really love to see a video on my hometown to let there be awareness that something bigger needs to be done not only in my hometown of Boston Massachusetts but all over this beautiful world 🌍.. Thank you Mark!!!!
I have been a few times. I hope to travel again soon
Peter is articulate and conveys his circumstances well, His friend took advantage and made him homeless, Hopefully he finds the help and support he needs to get his life back on track. Peter knows what he wants and seems to still have the hope and belief that his current predicament is only temporary this mindset slips away the longer you are unhoused. What a great update it would be if now Peter is housed and is involved in his sons life. Best Wishes to all those who find themselves unhoused and everyone working to END HOMELESSNESS.
He's probably a tenant of Val's hostel before it burnt down a lot of them are now living on the streets of Manchester
I think you a bit confused about BnBs in the UK. We have 1000s of lovely small accommodations which carry that title.
I slept rough on of 20 yes now 10 yrs clean in property 6 years loving ❤️ life my family my kids grandchildren 4 cats one thing he knew cannabis was growing in his flat
الحياة صعبة جدا ، الأثرياء يبذرون الاموال على السيارات الفخمة و النساء و امور تافه و ناس اخرون ينامون في الشارع و اموال الاغنياء من جيوب الفقراء
I hope I live to an age where people ask what homelessness was and how did society even allow that to happen?!
Make always pls subtitles.
Is Manchester expensive?
Hope this guy makes it out. I’ve seen many kind souls come to road bumps letting homeless people house with them and rehabilitate.
Then again, who knows if he was in on the weed growing project, but there’s no reason not to believe him. He also took responsibility which is pretty mature of him regardless if he knew or not.
Good luck m8
When caring becomes a crime.
Are you in the UK?
You can’t trust anyone, poor guy doing a good turn and come unstuck.
Wish him well and his luck Changes.
I think I saw this guy get robbed once.
.
Good Luck Peter!
It's not alot that's he's asking for.
He's not invisible to me.
Hope he's ok...
God bless u Buddy cheers
I don't understand why our society treats prisoners so well. And homeless people so badly.
I’m not sure who might believe in a higher power in this community, but “Invisible people” is doing his/her work. Mark is doing his/her work.
God bless him 🙏
Is rough sleeping allowed in UK?
Hope he is doing alright.
I hope this man gets a beautiful home soon ❤️ He deserves only the best ❤️ what a wonderful man ❤️
He had a home that other people paid for and he used it to grow drugs and steal electricity.
