    Hearing Suzie talking about sleeping in a bed again, and how nice it was to have pillows after such a long time was a real wake up call to me about how much stuff I take for granted.

      I agree most of the people I came across wanted to be homeless and were not prepared to stop taking drugs and alcohol...I chose to stop everything and work my way out of the situation and change my life...

      @Donnell Okafor If peoples lives are so bad that will target people who are the poorest in society, I'd say thats indicative of a problem, yes.

    • @HugeStirz
      @HugeStirz ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @Donnell Okafor Thats a separate issue, I'm saying the streets not being safe for someone who clearly has no money is a problem, also she's just a kid, yes its to some greater or lesser extent her choice but does she deserve to be beaten up for that? many greats like Miles Davis, Antony Keidis were junkies before greatness

      I am living in my SUV at the moment and I the cemeteries are actually safer than most places since there's never usually anyone there after dark. But police are going to at least make u leave if they cme across u. But yea, I used to be creeped out just driving thru a graveyard at night...now getn an hour or 2 of actual deep sleep is only possible at a cemetery.

      You have to be aware and comfortable with yourself and alone in your own world before being truly happy.
      Coming up in absolute chaos can bring about a discomfort if they then not surrounded by it constantly.
      It's definitely time to have adjustments made because even the roughest animal in the world relents and loves comforts such as quiet and warmth and love. Ask every stray dog and wild animal saved from near death...love and care is always received well

      Same! I'm shy, nerdy, but tough. I've slept rough, way back in the past. I was hidden from sight for safety.
      Two years ago I was sleeping in my car. I have PTSD so I'd be hypervigilant about shadows at night. I'm highly educated with a Master's degree. The Queensland Police Service arrested me for things that happened 24 years ago. I had to sell my home to pay legals. That's how I became homeless.

    One of the saddest things is seeing homeless people turned away from shelters because they have a dog. Near where I love we use to walk past a man with a dog sleeping rough in an underpass in Dundee where he did the decent thing by refusing to abandon his dog - even though society had abandoned the dogs owner. A entitlement on those who operate homeless shelters in Dundee and those who fund shelters who have zero grip on reality

      there's a homeless man in Liverpool and him and his dog cuddle into each other at night. He now has a very small tent and best believe his dog sleeps in their with him under the blankets too. dog isn't underweight he's always got food in his bowl and looks more loved than some dogs ive seen with homes to be honest.

      I agree to a certain extent. While their reasons for first getting addicted are often quite sad, a lot of drug addicts are also violent and abusive especially to family members. I witnessed it a lot growing up. Seeing it in person does make you desensitised and sometimes less sympathetic because abuse is still abuse. But at the same time, there are many who never hurt anyone except themselves, and they have my fullest sympathy.

    Extremely sad, but I can never understand why kids don't get on with their parents and have to leave home. Second thing is, never get involved with drugs.

      Not everyone has great parents who love them and protect them. There are crappy parents who mess their kids up for life when they're young.

      Some parents kick their kids out of the house. Others are abusive which makes the kids leave. In other cases, the kids have their own mental health issues and the parents aren't good enough at parenting to sort them out or support them through it so let them run away
