  • In this trademark phrasing jazz drum lesson, I demonstrate some classic trademark phrases of Roy Haynes, one of the founding fathers of jazz drumming. These ideas can be applied to jazz drum soloing and jazz time playing. They can also be worked over in many different ways, so have fun!

    This is so cool. Roy Haynes' musical taste is unbelievable. I discovered him playing Gta 4, there he hosts JNR radio based on famous jazz records. Since then and after listening to his album Out of the afternoon I fell in love with his music. Thanks for sharing this idea!

    This concept series is absolutely amazing!!!! I am new to jazz drumming, I absolutely love it, but as a beginner it's so difficult for me to pull out little golden nuggets like what you've shared with us. Thank you sir

    Great playing but is it me or do Remo heads nearly always sound better than Aquarian and Evans?

    • @drumqtips
      @drumqtips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I've had good results with all three drum head companies. Depends on the drums, the type of head, the tuning, personal preference and of course the playing.
