    I love this because there are very few sources of news of Chinese technological breakthroughs in the English language

    An efficiency of 30% is much higher than that obtained with the RTG (radioisotope thermal generator) and this is good news for space exploration, as well as powering an inhabited Lunar or Martian base.
    These generators could also be very useful in combined heat and power systems in buildings and agro-industrial facilities.
    Well done China.

    I like the diversity of the technology described.
    And the no nonsense way it's presented.

    All exciting developments. But the subtitles for the Martian AI conversation to oxygen said 2000 not 200. So what is the correct figure?

    really interesting discussion.. can you also provide the primary data. I can see uses in small nuclear power applications also

      I guess you need to understand Chinese, even if you have the primary data.

    Why would humans dream of leaving our mother earth? We are made for living here, not on mars...

      You lack imagination if you find it ridiculous to not look to expand our species. Of course I want to go beyond our solar system. And a Martian colony would be a good point to further our exploration into the interstellar space. I view Mars as a way station to the greater interstellar space. I believe we can achieve interstellar space travel in my life time. However I believe most space programs are thinking in conventional ways. If I had the support of people I think I could advance our space exploration by at 50 years if not more. I have been working to achieve this since my early teens.

    I think the most important thing for China to work on is the ion thruster engine as it'll help China to land men on Mars in 45 days instead of the 9-month journey using traditional chemical propulsion. China should not only there onto Mars, but shorter journey than the U.S. Space race with the U.S. should be won smarter, that's how China will stand out.

    • @jimmielin1141
      @jimmielin1141 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ion thruster needs electricity so this is a very important component of the thruster.
