Mate, the money is going only to VPs and higher staff roles and also on constructions. Sometimes they would use that money to fund research. Everything else is for undergrad and running costs.
@@kodakverite Its even true for most stem subjects these days. We have the internet. We have access to ivy league courses from top universities for free and better. Its only true for subjects in which there is equipment or people you want to study under or utilise. That is almost exclusively a stem thing. Funding should cut for everything else and be substituted with grants for artists of proven merit. Or at least just fund based on skills deficits. We dont need any more socio/psychology graduates .. we have plenty.
@@dcoughla681 No I think you're projecting. It's not privileged for me to say that tuition fees, which haven't been increased since 2017, being increased inline with inflation is reasonable. The maintenance loan is also being increased. According to you, a poor kid's view would be that the tuition fees be flat forever to the point universities have to continually underfund services?
@@ecnalms851 A poor kid will not go to university. They can’t afford it. It’s as simple as that. Universities have endowments. Time to break open the piggy bank.

They should pay £15000 a year

Why should working people pay for university education for others?... what about those workers that don't have an education?
People were warned that Starver was a Tory yet a third of the electorate voted for him.
Universities are getting less than the cost. Some are going to go bust. Wages, buildings, IT, hardware, energy, taxes.
stem field education should be free.
Just don’t go uni, pointless anyway
This is only true for non stem degrees

I think the loan rise is reasonable. They're also increasing the maintenance loan too.
I guess you can afford it, right?
@ Well students know when they go to university that it’s not free and they’re loaning money… so fees rising with inflation is just how it works.
@@ecnalms851 Spoken like a rich kid or someone who has been told that money doesn’t matter. It does.

Actions have consequences. the majority of university students voted labour.
What a dumb comment. This only impacts new students. Meaning the majority of students this will impact were 17 during the last election.
@bishboshs Not a dumb comment at all. You're a typical liberal who just throws insults at people who don't agree with you.
@@bishboshs Still makes university more expensive.
