Electric car benefits and cons are all subject to some context of where you live. If you have one with 300 miles of range, I'm sorry but if you're running out of charge, that's on the driver! The only time I ever charge it 'on the road' is journeys between MCR and LDN (I only need to charge it going there or back, not both). For actual data, this year I have spent exactly £520 on charging, for petrol it would be £1,379. And yes, of course if you dont have a charger at home, its not worth the benefits probably for lack of convenience using public chargers. If you do have a charger at home, its very convenient actually.

I have a 2012 Vauxhall, diesel. It takes you from the London area to Southampton and back home on max 30 quid. Brilliant little thing! Very cheap to run. In 5 years (got it second hand) it only had a little issue to fix in 2020, never had a problem since. We're sticking to it for as long as it runs.
Also... think about this. 1. your 40k car, would completely change my life if i had 40k!!! what kind of muppet buys a remote control toy car for 40k lol 2. based on this i wouldnt spend 40k on a car, if i had 40k id change my life, not my car. if she gave me 40k id show her how 40k can change one persons life and why thats a total wast of money. 3. if a student gets a degree and masters to get a job.. 40k, then a house 350k would they then want 40k to pay on top of that? then 10k a year for basic bills, 5k basic food a year, prob 15k for a family of 4 basic, its a debt for life plan..
Good morning britain.. can you ask these questions: How do you account for Battery actual life depletion, like a mobile phone, batteries depreciate with power over time :100% is 80% of its origional chage capacity. combustion engines dont need this worry and can be fixed as they wear.. electric cannot.. unless you buy a new battery or motor for half the depreciated value of the whole car. Battery operated cars are vaunerable to salt water as we saw in florida,. they deplete in energy in cold weather and wont start in frozen weather.. see usa frozen car issues, they will also overheat and explode in high heat, i wouildnt want to be in one, in a very hot uk summer.. insurance is massively high due to very many basic issues or minor accidents writing them off. the uk is charging massive tax.. so lets look at this.. if i buy an ev for 80k then the car after 2 years is worth 8 to 12k .. as they depreciate so fast.. i will be paying tax based on its purchase price of 80k though its worth 12k... this is a bad investment and any finantial guru let alone expert would know this. people dont want to be forced to pay to use a loo, buy a coffee and food, read a book to charge a car,. they want to fill a car in seconds and drive on when they feel ok to do so. im currently working 100 mile round trip. the only ev i could afford is a nissan leaf,. it wouldnt even make it there lol id potentially need to charge it 3 times. as i cannot charge it at home, EVS are the generally most boring cars., they all look identical based on a battery platform. witrh the exception of evs selling for 100s of tghousands. they look like margerine tubs in general. The main reason you want every one in evs is so you can track them using ai gps tech built into them and the recording tech. and so you can build taxable app style car services. also... its really bad business to force people to buy stuff they dont want.. if you have to fine car companies for not selling enough,. your answer is right there. evey normal human in the uk will and can and has said.. trhe uk is not leading or influencing anything... we are a tiny island... our net zero will make no difference to the world. Your destroying the country for a dream.
Im strongly against net zero targets but im a strong advocate for evs, if it suits your daily driving needs. Same for solar if you do your maths and dont plan to move, its a no brainer

Y, even you know they don't work.
Also... think about this.
1. your 40k car, would completely change my life if i had 40k!!! what kind of muppet buys a remote control toy car for 40k lol
2. based on this i wouldnt spend 40k on a car, if i had 40k id change my life, not my car. if she gave me 40k id show her how 40k can change one persons life and why thats a total wast of money.
3. if a student gets a degree and masters to get a job.. 40k, then a house 350k would they then want 40k to pay on top of that? then 10k a year for basic bills, 5k basic food a year, prob 15k for a family of 4 basic, its a debt for life plan..
3:40 a long journey in minus degree weather?
Soon to be called lazy layabouts who do not want to work.
Good morning britain.. can you ask these questions:
How do you account for Battery actual life depletion, like a mobile phone, batteries depreciate with power over time :100% is 80% of its origional chage capacity. combustion engines dont need this worry and can be fixed as they wear.. electric cannot.. unless you buy a new battery or motor for half the depreciated value of the whole car.
Battery operated cars are vaunerable to salt water as we saw in florida,. they deplete in energy in cold weather and wont start in frozen weather.. see usa frozen car issues, they will also overheat and explode in high heat, i wouildnt want to be in one, in a very hot uk summer..
insurance is massively high due to very many basic issues or minor accidents writing them off.
the uk is charging massive tax.. so lets look at this.. if i buy an ev for 80k then the car after 2 years is worth 8 to 12k .. as they depreciate so fast.. i will be paying tax based on its purchase price of 80k though its worth 12k... this is a bad investment and any finantial guru let alone expert would know this.
people dont want to be forced to pay to use a loo, buy a coffee and food, read a book to charge a car,. they want to fill a car in seconds and drive on when they feel ok to do so.
im currently working 100 mile round trip. the only ev i could afford is a nissan leaf,. it wouldnt even make it there lol id potentially need to charge it 3 times. as i cannot charge it at home,
EVS are the generally most boring cars., they all look identical based on a battery platform. witrh the exception of evs selling for 100s of tghousands. they look like margerine tubs in general.
What advantages elaborate
No planet B 🙄🙄🙄😎
Teslas are great 👍🏻
Tesla model 3 long-range will do London to north east on 1 stop in winter. Again a panel of millionaires don't know what there talking about
Kev not going well is it.
To add, heating engineers & plumbers will be fined if they do not meet targets for heat pumps over gas/ oil boilers!!!!!!
Ellesmere Port makes more sense.
Economies kf scale, transport links for export, more available workers.
Who in their right mind would have a EV..A hybrid vehicle makes for more sense.
I love having a hybrid vehicle. The first few times I filled up the tank I was incredulous at how much petrol I had been using.
Im strongly against net zero targets but im a strong advocate for evs, if it suits your daily driving needs. Same for solar if you do your maths and dont plan to move, its a no brainer
No range anxiety with NIO, for petrol stations all over the UK read battery swap stations all over the UK.
NIO battery swap is the winning business formula.

Brexit means brexit
I thought our lord and saviour Elon Musk can make all our elctric cars
the tesla is a different beast, my good lady has one for a company car and it does 350 miles on a full charge which is fantastic. Unfortunately if you were to buy one as a customer they are extortionate!
i got given a new renault electric van for work to get to different sites. The van did 130 miles on a full charge and thats without the use of heating etc etc. Safe to say after 2 weeks of not being able to get to work and back everyday on a charge it went straight back!
