He is the most entertaining and explosively talented table tennis player I have ever seen! Even being more of a showboating player he has had a pretty good career- 1 olympic bronze,WTTC bronze,European champion.
For such a tall player he is very agile. His footwork combined with his length enables him to get to shots most others wouldn't be able to make. Combined with those backhand shots... holy crap! What I also found amazing was how many players found his high backhand topspin balls so difficult to finish. Very often they hit it JUST behind the net and after a few times of Maze returning it again somehow they just couldn't do it. Simply amazing.
Wow, just WOW! Believe it or not, I've actually heard people say that table tennis wasn't a sport, including a popular radio commentator in Phoenix. So many people have such small universes.
@@krecik317 yes they are more disciplined than you and is why you will never see them outside the top 3 at any given sport in the olympics, they arent robots ,they are better than you and me
anabolic stephen Well, trust me that if any other western country had 1 billion people to choose their athletes etc from they would dominate everything you mentioned
Good video, love when the audience gets into the point. I wish tennis would allow audiences to be audiences and cheer for people while they play instead of having to stay hush quiet.
He had terrible forehand/footwork technique that caused many injuries since his early 20's.Just look how much he twists his torso. He was very crafty with his shots but he lacked a sound technique biomechanics-wise.
What "lob" are you refering to, the brain lob or what....? If you mean a forehand (or a backhand) with an arc and heavy topspin...? That's called a loop.
6:11 - 6:36 The craziest thing is that after surviving MP on these two points, MM actually went on to win the match!

Maze is a legend, inspired me a lot when I was a kid!
я на нем учился
6:52 I need to learn how to do this.
flagella1337 called an cannonball loft, super tricky but with the right tap it’s doable
Is kind of hard
I think it’s called a fluke
50 years from now, machines would probably be able to do this.

What brutal side spin. Awesome
He is the main reason why I have become a great table tennis player
Simply aMazing sharp shooter ... naturally born then crafted to perfection !
He is a true legend 🤯🔥🔥
One of the most creative players

That first clip the ball is making such a nice noise
The king of defence maze!
Unbelievable!
AMZEING player indeed :)
OK, but 3:24 is Dima's sidespin and his point; and his bh hook-shot is even better than Maze'.
tubeist- dan you are wrong dima backhand was from whole arm and it should be from wrist
Not at all
F'n Slow Who cares what technique they used. It his technique works for him, that’s fine.
F'n Slow you should not use wrist in your backhand. The wrist should just follow the movement of the underarm
no one can copy his style!
I do things like this most of the time but I am a right hander
@@velekorunoski5997And not really good in comparison.
@@RalphHund what do you mean exactly?
Anybody else think Brad Pitt could play Maze if they ever made a movie about him? They look very alike!
Dima playing without the moaning is great. 😂

Godly backhand

0:15 double bounce
Sushil Shrestha it hit the net then the table.

I think he's the real show man! haha

Novak Djokovic has the same defence

Hard rubber and hard blade plus hard control
