      Actually, the Waldner serve was banned because he contacted the ball behind his extended right arm (in the vid), and the ball goes under the arm hiding the ball, which prevents the opponents ability to see the CONTACT to play; or would you also blindfold a goalkeeper for the first contact of a penalty?
      P.S. Even players like Mima Ito have been called out by the referee for foul serves.

  • @freddupont9605

    WCQ serving above the table + not vertical (the angle exceeds 30 degrees) + hidden by his body + most often not reaching 16 cm but dropped down. 50 % of his serves should be called. He's not the only one but you almost don't see illegal serves in women competitions.

    • @zeleony05
      @zeleony05 หลายเดือนก่อน

      People only say that because he is lefty and he is Chinese. A lot of players dont toss it perfectly straight like Samsonov or Kenta Matsuidara.
      I dont see anyone complaining about Alexis Lebruns toss.
      Clear view of his toss in the "Alexis Lebrun vs Benedikt Duda | Final - European Championship 2024" You can watch it in TT11TV channel. His 2nd, 4th, 6th serve and on you can clearly see is past 30 degrees.
      Dimitri Tomahawk high toss is way over 30 degrees that he has to relocate his body 3 steps to the right.
      a lot of people tosses the ball towards their body.
      The new rule book already took the 30 degrees leeway off the book. So it is only near vertical. So if they reinforce it they have to enforce it to every player and be consistent about it. And is hard to see all angles of the toss.
      If you studied math you know there are 3 axis and the umpire can only see 2 axis clearly.
      Also the umpire cannot see the other players axis. A righty will see from a lefty the same thing the lefty sees from a righty. Yet the lefties are used to it and since they are lesser players. They will not complain as much as righty players do. But righties complain about lefties all the time.
      Watch Lin Yunju serve videos, Even tho he has a straight toss up he still covers the ball slightly with the head and body even tho he is upright if seen from the middle of the table. If you stand on your bh side you wont see anything. That's how it is. If you play a lefty you should stand closer to the middle to see the contact. That's the ideal spot.
      If you play enough lefties you would know. Now if you are a righty and you cant see a righty serve. Then that's an obvious problem. Like how Malong complained against another player he played against that did hook serves and was a righty and couldnt see it even though he was standing on the far bh side.

      Which one? The waldner's serve wasn't "banned". What was banned was to let the arm in front to hide the contact point of the ball with the racket. The narrator "lied" to make shit sound sensational.

      @@pixel2695 You will see this a LOT with top players. Their serves are a bewildering variety of ways to cover up the ball during the serve (which is now illegal.) Very difficult to see in real time, so is rarely called, but often done.

    • @pixel2695
      @pixel2695 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@gunsandpolitics5510 i know yeah, but i was saying that some of the illegal serves like walder's where his arm would cover the ball were still legal at the time since there were no rules against it which is why a bunch of players did that.

    • @pixel2695
      @pixel2695 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@gunsandpolitics5510 after reviewing the serves, pretty much only waldner and wang chuqin had illegal serves. some others have toss height problems but those serves weren't in an actual match and just a showcase. xuxin was just a matter of camera perspective since he's left handed. so yeah, i just wanted to clarify that with the 2 clearly illegal serves in this video, waldner's serves were legal because the rules were different at the time. i actually remember seeing videos teaching people that when you serve you should cover it with your arm. Those were just the rules at the time, you were allowed to hide the ball.
