@@binjammin3076 im a rugby fan myself but nfl is much more dangerous because pretty much any unsafe tackle that you can imagine is actually legal, for example mid air tackles, tackles where u just jump into people head forward et cetera, also nfl players dont train for stamina, so they have much more power in a single action, on top of that they specialise in their positions as well, which leaves more time to train for example tackling if youre defense. data also shows that nfl players have many more injuries and also more fatal ones, especially towards the head and neck area.
@@GuRuGeorge03 Yup. I used to think Rugby was way tougher but when I got into NFL I realised that although neither has bigger or stronger players than the other, NFL has stupid rules that mean it's dangerous. Great fun , but dangerous.
There is no offence, defence or special teams, everyone plays all 3 and there are no OL men as they also play in the middle. If they kick forward the person has to start in line as they kick other wise it is offside but they can run forward and meet it (Edit) the people in the scrum play the in the game as well they do go on/off just for the scrum (Edit 2) the ball has to touch the “endzone” without your feet going out of bounds
You can kick the ball forward but not pass it forward, if the ball is kicked out of the field of play there is a line out which consists of a line of the same number of players from both teams the ball is thrown between the two lines of players who try to grab the ball before the other teams line then there is a half back who is given the ball or it is taken into a maul where the ball is grubbed out then passed out through the line unti they score or are tackled once tackled the player who is tackled must place the ball on the ground behind him for another team member to pick up once the ball is picked up the player who picks it up either runs with it or passes it back or can kick it forward. The ball must be placed on the ground behind the try line then there is the conversion which is kicked from within the field of play ajacent to where the try is scored. There are penalties for playing the ball forward or head high tackles among other plays that call for a penalty which either result in a scrum or if the team that is awared the penalty can kick for goal. There are alot of rules in the game but thats the basics covered. Watch and enjoy!!!
Sup bro I'm from New Zealand and they way you saying about the kicking forward, the team needs to be behind the kicker so it's not off side unlike afl but if you do videos like this and research a bit more I'll value your channel big time.
These reactions remind me of the old saying. "You can't full a cup that is already full" It's like drinking Cola and then trying to judge the fizzynis in Milk, you just can't. You have to forget about the game of Football...Start fresh (empty your cup)...then watch rugby otherwise you will get lost learning a NEW sport because you are still thinking about the OTHER sport.
I'm from new Zealand which is where bauden barrett is also from and he is what we call a first five which has the role of kicking the try conversion when a try is scored. The way a try is scored is the ball must touch the area anywhere past the white line where the goal posts are setup. There is also no defensive, offensive or special teams in rugby they're all in the one team which stays on the field for the full eighty minutes of the game.
yeah new Zealand has a great team. but unfortunately i am from south africa, so i will be rooting for my team. (gives you a hug) Goodluck and happy watching
This is such an entertaining video to watch!!! I found it so funny and cool to watch someone so surprised by rugby and Beauden Barret. For future reference, in rugby there are not different teams in a team. You have the first 15 players on the field and then 8 on the bench. The team is split up into forwards and backs. Numbers 1 - 8 are the forwards who are usually bigger, beefier guys and number 9 - 15 are the backs who are often the more skilful fast people. Each number is a different position and each position does different things but together they all work as a unit. You can kick the ball at any point in time and it can be along the ground, from out of the hands, long or high. There are specific rules to when you can play the ball like offsides and everything but when a player is tackled, no the game does not stop. It forms a ruck and players can contest for the ball in that. There is no limit to the amount of rucks you can have. I hope you found this comment helpful in some way and I really hope you see this. Great video!!!!
The ball has to be put down with pressure in the "end zone" so like he has to physically dot the ball down order for it to be a try...it doesn't matter if he is behind the try line when he scores...but his feet/body cannot be on the touchline while scoring as that is considered out of bounds
I can’t believe he genuinely thinks that he just plays different NFL positions each game, no, u can kick, tackle and run in pretty much any position in the team
Funny coincidence how Messi and Barrett both wear #10 lol But to answer your question he is not like the Messi of Rugby he's more like a Eden Hazard in my opinion
I play rugby and I literally only wear headgear because I can't step so I truck people and if you don't know what that means it literally means running into people to bowl em over and keep running Works a lot of the time
- A try is when the ball touches the ground past the try line - Anyone is alowed to pass, kick or run but sertain players are assined sertain roles , some have more roles than others - You are allowed to pass the ball to a teammate aslong as it does not go forward or it is a scrum for the other team - Cross licks are a other way of passing the ball to a teammate as it is not a forward - Not all players wear Scrum caps , its optional but it privides some protection againts traumas to the head like head to head collisions - More players wear gum guards to help againts concussion but for padding thats how far it goes - You cant stop the game ... but you can win possession via a penalty, free kick , scrums , lineouts or 22 meter drop outs - Rugby players aren't small ... some are huge like RG Snyman from the Springboks who towars at 2.07 m Love the vids ... keep up the good work
A Try is awarded when the opposition touches the ground with the ball in the end zone . Clear control is key - any doubt of control when placing the ball will be inclined to be denied.
I'll try to answer your questions: 1. Rugby is called footy in New Zealand and other places where it's the most popular sport, like Wales. 2. Play stops if the ball goes out of bounds, but it's thrown back in--it's called a lineout. It's sort of like a combination between passing the ball back in in basketball and a jump ball but up to 7 players per side can jump for the ball. 3. All players in rugby play both offense and defense. The play is pretty similar to American Football, sort of. The forwards (numbers 1 to 8), who are like linemen, do scrums, but are also expected to tackle and (nowadays) be able to run with the ball, while the backs (numbers 9 to 15) are expected to run, kick, pass, and tackle. 4. Beauden Barrett plays a lot of positions, but he's primarily a fly-half (number 10). It's arguably the most important position in rugby, since he directs the play. Fly-halves are like a combination of a point guard, a quarterback, a punter, and a field goal kicker. He's a bit unique though because he's also crazy fast and has sidesteps and other moves so he can run as well. (You should react to best rugby sidesteps) 5. No real breaks in play, unless there's a score, scrum, lineout, or penalty. But those happen often enough so usually they can take a breather. The pace of game can vary a lot though depending on where it's played. 6. You can only pass backwards, but you can also kick it forwards at any point. There are a lot of tactical kicks--as you've seen, you can punt it downfield for territory, and like punts, coffin corner kicks are the best. As you've also seen, you can "chip" the ball, like an onside kick, so your team can chase the ball down. 7. No helmets, but the tackling rules are a lot stricter to prevent brain damage and the like. 8. Players can also, under certain rules, take the ball away after a tackle. That's arguably the most important part of the game. 9. Tries (think touchdowns) only count if the ball itself is brought down under control in the "endzone." in fact, even if you're in the endzone, if someone strips the ball from you before you bring it down, you lose possession. 10. Rugby games are extremely varied--in some games, it's a slog, and no one scores except for kicks, and there are barely any long runs. Stereotypically, it's like that in Europe and South Africa. In other games, the pace is crazy fast and there's lots of speed and skill on display. Stereotypically, it's like that in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
You can have players on a rugby team ranging anywhere from 5' 6" 183 lbs (All Black Aaron Smith) to 6' 7" 285 lbs (All Black Brodie Rettalick) and you are expected to be able to tackle everyone. On average, American football players only run around 1 mile per game and they only actually played for an average of 11 minutes whilst rugby players often cover 6 miles and play for a full 80 minutes.
Rugby players run more, hit more and have to be mentally switched on for 69 more minutes than American Football players. NFL roles are more specialised, rugby players have to combine strength, speed, power and stamina.
Then do so. Am watching another video and he seems to read the comments. I loved it, as he was clearly excited about it, and while it was clear he had no idea, he wasn't dismissive or rude.
Small huh. You see any one of those players run at you or tackle you , you say your prayers before you go flying through the air back to America and the NFL

There is no offence, defence or special teams, everyone plays all 3 and there are no OL men as they also play in the middle. If they kick forward the person has to start in line as they kick other wise it is offside but they can run forward and meet it
(Edit) the people in the scrum play the in the game as well they do go on/off just for the scrum
(Edit 2) the ball has to touch the “endzone” without your feet going out of bounds
Yeah your right he,s a fat dweeb rugby is way cooler
Bruh learn the rules before you react 😂 honestly
“He’s a tackler, oh and runs” got me dying😂
“When do these guys get a break” 😂😂 smfh they can run the field with out having to have breaks
These reactions remind me of the old saying.
"You can't full a cup that is already full"
It's like drinking Cola and then trying to judge the fizzynis in Milk, you just can't. You have to forget about the game of Football...Start fresh (empty your cup)...then watch rugby otherwise you will get lost learning a NEW sport because you are still thinking about the OTHER sport.
4:15 Did he just say: "rugby player are bit smaller..."?? DUDE!!
He should watch a full game instead of just highlights
Ayeeee a fan from New Zealand 🇳🇿 excites for this world cup
Have you seen the joke about the New Zealander and the South African?
yeah new Zealand has a great team. but unfortunately i am from south africa, so i will be rooting for my team. (gives you a hug) Goodluck and happy watching
Yeah man. AB's all the way
I'm New Zealand
And I'm hiped
“It’s like the nfl” he says but it’s just not
Bless, the NFL fan can't cope with someone having more than one job and being able to do more than one thing.
I like this guy he ain’t trying to act like he knows the sport and is asking questions not making assumptions. Keep it up bro
He and his two brothers playing for all blacks at the same time
Jordie Barrett
Scott Barrett
The ball has to be put down with pressure in the "end zone" so like he has to physically dot the ball down order for it to be a try...it doesn't matter if he is behind the try line when he scores...but his feet/body cannot be on the touchline while scoring as that is considered out of bounds
“When do they get a break?” Half time my friend
In rugby everyone is expected to tackle, run and can kick during play but usually the fly half kicks conversions(kicks after a try at 2 sticks)!!!
I can’t believe he genuinely thinks that he just plays different NFL positions each game, no, u can kick, tackle and run in pretty much any position in the team
Daniel carter is the best 10 ever, would be worth a look
Nathan Drake lomu, carter and then Barrett unfair that one country can have the world’s best back to back to back
Watch Jonah Lomu highlights, he’s the best of all time
Yeah!
Don't forget George Nepia best fullback ever
Bod tho
No he isn’t but ok 👍
RIP
Funny coincidence how Messi and Barrett both wear #10 lol But to answer your question he is not like the Messi of Rugby he's more like a Eden Hazard in my opinion
I play rugby and I literally only wear headgear because I can't step so I truck people and if you don't know what that means it literally means running into people to bowl em over and keep running
Works a lot of the time
He needs to learn the position man' he not a Punter he's fly-half
WTF is a fly-half ? He is a first five eighth. :)
K Shred *facepalm

When you realise that american football was made from rugby
- A try is when the ball touches the ground past the try line
- Anyone is alowed to pass, kick or run but sertain players are assined sertain roles , some have more roles than others
- You are allowed to pass the ball to a teammate aslong as it does not go forward or it is a scrum for the other team
- Cross licks are a other way of passing the ball to a teammate as it is not a forward
- Not all players wear Scrum caps , its optional but it privides some protection againts traumas to the head like head to head collisions
- More players wear gum guards to help againts concussion but for padding thats how far it goes
- You cant stop the game ... but you can win possession via a penalty, free kick , scrums , lineouts or 22 meter drop outs
- Rugby players aren't small ... some are huge like RG Snyman from the Springboks who towars at 2.07 m
Love the vids ... keep up the good work
The rugby “helmet” is called a scrum cap. It protects a player’s ears in the scrum from getting injured high pressure and friction.
The only time they stop is when the refree blow the whistle. Until then no one is stoping
Trust me he is NOT small
Him: they should try play nfl
Me: Bruh their shoulders r way too big cuzzi
It's a different sport to nfl man. Of course the rules are different.
This guy has no basic rugby knowledge whatsoever 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
As the typical NZ/ Aus would have about NFL... but he's still allowed to review highlights isn't he?
btw there are 3 Barretts in the All Blacks atm~ 3 Brothers! what a family!
A Try is awarded when the opposition touches the ground with the ball in the end zone .
Clear control is key - any doubt of control when placing the ball will be inclined to be denied.
Someone tell him how much a pack weighs
“Kinda empty crowd” lol reminds me of a New York giants game
And rugby plyers are bigger than most nfl players. Barrett just isn't big.
Barratt is huge it just doesn't look like it on camerae
barret is 6"2 and 92kg he aint small lol
@@benmaunsell9334
And can probably run the hundy in about 10.6 no slouch
Rugby players aren't smaller, a players average height is 6ft 2
I'm from NZ
Beauden plays as a half back so he is back more and when he gets the ball he can build up his speed and run through people.
Hes not half back he is the 1st 5 (No. 10 )
Him=No headgear what what WHAT
Me=who cares about headgear it’s annoying
“Helmets are for pussies”
I'll try to answer your questions:
(You should react to best rugby sidesteps)
Gabriel Ruaro I live in wales and i don’t know anyone who calls rugby footy we call rugby rugby and soccer/ football footy or football
@@katiepritchard9187 I agree with you, but in this case I'm a New Zealander and not from Wales.
I've never heard of rugby being called footy.
Whwhwh wait. This guy kicks, takles and runs. Yes so does every back and some forward
As a rugby player this made me cridge and want to tell the guy the rules and basics of rugby
Quality reaction video. Love how foreign a lot of the game is because he’s so use to The NFL, which from the outside looks the same but is totally different!
He said rugby players are small go tell that for Sam whitelock or Rg snyman 😂😂they are 2.06
Beauden is small for a rugby player being only 6'2", 1.85m
He compares every thing to NFL and it’s like “ you know NFL was copied off rugby right?”
Charlie rock 1234 ... mate, what else should he base it off? Give the bloke some slack and thank him for being an ambassodor for our sport, whether he realised that or not!
Get behind these yanks exposing the game to the wider American public.
Give the USA 20 years, and they will be more than just a team filler at the world cups!
We all know we secretly want that
Werner Tukker true my bad 😕
Why do Americans not know the NFL comes from rugby
I play rugby it is awesome when you learn the rules.
Its funny because I remember watching some of those games in the crowd and on tv.
I live in nz
Him: most of you guys are from the UK... so we're going to watch someone from NeW ZeaLaNd
The first thing i suggest you do if you want to learn about Rugby and how the sport is played. STOP COMPARING IT TO NFL.
NFL became about because of rugby.
If you truly want to learn more about Rugby. Watch rugby rules explained or rugby for beginners.
Rugby players are definitely not smaller
you can kick it forward as long as the chaser behind the kicker, btw there’s no defence attack or special teams, good vid 😂
I borke my phone when you say “ its like premier ligue and nfl in one “
Please react to like the first 10 mins of a normal match! You are in for some big shocks! You haven't even seen lineouts, scrums, rucks and mauls yet!
Ruby basic ball is grounded with control in pass the try line / in zone, his 2 brothers jordi and scott barret played with him in the nz all blacks our national team, he's a player that has a good sense of position and can read plays and obviously make plays
Most of what you have just watched was our provincial rugby games the speed and quality you just saw is just how rugby is played the Barrett family have produced a number of really great players👌
