Even when Barrett isn't in great form he's still one hell of a player. He certainly is one of the best 10s to watch

What a player! My favourite of all time (well, him and Conrad Smith). This is an excellently compiled video demonstrating just how phenomenal he is - all those intercepts - incredible. I seem to remember him chasing down Stuart Hogg in a game against Scotland a few years back too - if Hogg had scored, Scotland would have won... anyone else remember that?
he may not be the best player in history, but he has clearly got the best highlight real. absolute legend
That's how I compare Barrett to Carter. Barrett had played better rugby at times, but Carter was the better player

You don't want to let a pass drop near him - he has the vision to know where to boot it and the speed to chase it down. Amazing how many tries he scores and sets up by capitalising on these situations.
Just a great player all round.
My favourite Beauden Barrett era is when he used to come on for Dan Carter for the ABs for the last 3 minutes and set up some epic try.
I remember those days. Everyone is tired and then the All Blacks bring in a very fast intelligent and skilled player. Mayhem pursues.
@ Nel HNZ. I remember the early days of BB My first early memory was when Jean de Villers steamrolled him for a try. I thought Wow this guy (BB) aint up to it, but then he goes and scores a wonder try later on in the match. I had similar doubts too with Conrad Smith and Ben Smith also due also mainly to their smallish physique, but all 3 rightfully turned into legends

Unpopular opinion but I'll take Beuden Barret at 10 over dan carter any day. Its a big say but I'd also say he's the best flyhalf to ever play the game. And that's coming from a wallaby fan. I don't think I ever shit myself so much when he's got the ball in his hand

Like a thief in the night he can turn defense into attack and it's good night nurse. Great vision & IQ in general play, always looking to exploit an opportunity either for himself or his team mate's. What makes him so dangerous, and for a little guy his defense is under rated as well.

That’s true but to be fair, I find NZ commentators are generally the least biased and will just praise great rugby.
During the world cup the nz commentators tend to be more biased which is fine imo because it's a world cup

There are many times he just runs into a tackle though right
Barrett’s been such a prolific scorer and offensive coordinator that what’s missed most of the time is his dedication to defence, using his speed and anticipation to hold up or stop try-scoring opportunities by the opposition. Truly a brilliant player and his top form and fitness will be crucial in the coming years for the All Blacks.

He is world class, and could be the most talented All black ever. He is not the best at a single position but he 100% has to be on the field and can play multiple positions. I think he is now without a doubt the 15 for the world cup, with his brother on the bench.
