Just excellent! I re-watched the series a couple of months back and I'm so pleased to see the Green Acres house tour on Mockingbird Lane. The house was such a unique TV home and you covered all aspects of it well -- including what it would have looked like had remodeling work been completed. As always, thank you!
Yay Marina is back with a legendary home this channel deserves all the praise and support because it just brings you joy very well done and classy for all that loves old school amazing television homes back when television was worth watching with real actors and had to study the craft of learning lines you know before crap reality television took over television 🤦🏾♀️ I will support Marina’s channel forever she is a unbelievable talent with giving us these homes we grew up watching 🥰
I think the one thing which made "Green Acres" really stand out as a sitcom was the amount of visual humor which took place in each episode. So much of it is reminiscent of the work of Ernie Kovacs, including the "crazy credits" in his shows. I often wonder if Jay Sommers, creator of "Green Acres", was inspired by Kovacs, who died in a car accident three years before this show debuted. Great job on the house tour!

I didn’t watch Green Acres as a kid in the 70’s. It just didn’t strike a chord with my kid self. Great video though. Learned a lot about the show. Loved your bit about the absurdity of life that surrounds all of us sometimes. Especially right now in May 2024. Very appropriate! 😂
Nice!!! Back in the day they never imagined folks would have their own personal copies and could play the episodes over n over, fast forward, rewind, pause, print, etc. Also meet online with enthusiasts from all over the world and analyze every frame and dialog to find clues and inconsistencies.

My grandparents, parents and then my brother and I all loved this show. It was our 'cult' favorite show out of all the other 60s shows. Then, when we were teens, we all moved from Massachusetts all the way over to rural Ireland. For a while we lived in our Irish grandparents' farmhouse. It was like going back to the 1930s! It didn't hit me that I had lived the real life Green Acres experience until years later. Thanks Marina for this! I'll be watching this one over and over. The hidden 4th walls are especially fascinating. Love the extras too like the renovated versions at the end. Amazing work!
That's quite a life you've lived. What an experience. I've only been to Ireland once. But we loved it so much, we want to go back. Have you ever watched the movie, "The Quiet Man?" A lot of it was filmed in Ireland and Maureen O'Hara stars in it. A true Irish girl. ❤
Yes indeed Marina,! The Quiet Man was filmed very near my grandparent's house in a town called Cong. Fans of the movie still make pilgrimages there! There is even a small Quiet Man museum.
I love this show and loved the tour - thank you. This show was so special because you could really tell that these characters - as well as the actors who portrayed them - really respected and loved one another...no matter what!

I love this , this was one of my favorite shows growing up. And I think Lisa would have to have another closet as she had and endless collection of hats, I always wondered where she stored them all lol I do think the 4th wall in the living room may have been shown a time or 2 at least partially. I remember Lisa driving a nail and the entire wall fell lol. And when I Was little I also noticed looking into the bedroom didn't match up lol. However I noticed in the 1990 movie Return to Green Acres, they made it match up better I thought it was funny that even when the bedroom was under construction and it was just open to the outdoors, the exterior of the house still looked the same, in reality you would have been able to see the interior of the bedroom from the outside
You really did the house justice. It was such a good show and you really give insight to it. Another great job Marina. Would love to see you do The Nanny house.
I'm enjoying the tour of the house on GREEN ACRES. In the bathroom, I always took it that the shower Oliver pointed out was actually the tank for the toilet.

Thanks for a great tour! This show was on mainly during my high school years and I considered myself a little too sophisticated for it. My dad, however, loved it so we always had to watch it. (I tried not to laugh!) But it drove me crazy that they never fixed that house up. And now did her clothes not get wet or full of bird poop what with no back wall on the closet? See? I was sophisticated! 🤣 Thanks for the great memories. (When I was teaching my kids to drive, I mentioned the pernendle more than once.) I entered my comment before I finished watching. Thanks for fixing the home up...finally! 😄And I loved your thoughts at the end; yes, we're all a little like Oliver Wendell Douglas.
My husband and I have joked about the pernendle over the years. We only saw that episode when we were little, but for some reason it stuck with both of us.
Hi, Marina ! What a wonderful update on this house and I agree about the living room, it has more vibrancy because of the colorful wallpaper vs just painted walls. I also like how you narrating some of the shows highlights and actions really added to the video. Can't wait to see what you will do with, Jessica Fletcher's house. I really loved her kitchen, it always had a homey feeling. Thank you for sharing. 👋😎👍🏻
I love this show so much. I initially loved it for the writing, the performances, and the amazing editing, which was used to enhance the humor. Just like you have to be a good actor to do comedy well, you have to be smart to write silly well. Later, I began to see the relationship between Oliver and Lisa was crucial to the show not being completely cynical. They were so cute together, and the fact they admired each other so much off screen showed up on screen. Interestingly to me, while most 4th walls seem to make TV rooms small and cramped, this living room 4th wall made that room seem more open and pleasant, especially due to the windows. I never thought about them there!
You CG recreation was glorious, with delightful music and many glimpses behind the scenes from actual episodes. Thank you for a wonderful look at the past. Since you asked ... I would like to see more of the Hooterville sets, like the Hotel and Store. Thanks for including stories about the actors and some of the supporting cast members. I would also love to see a shout-out to Frank Inn, the animal trainer who supplied and trained the dozens of animals seen in Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, and The Beverly Hillbillies, including Higgins, who played Dog (and later starred as Benji), and the series of young piglets who played Arnold Ziffel. The 2 still shots you showed of the Green Acres living room at 3:26 with the patient pony and the many birds and dogs was great.
So glad you liked this. Thanks for the info on the animal trainer. I plan on doing Petticoat Junction at some point. I'll try to remember to include that information.

I am so glad I found your channel for several reasons. !) I grew up on Nick at Night so older sitcoms and seeing them and learning more about the actors appeal to nostalgia and history buffs. 2) I am an avid Sims player so recreating these sets in a home-building game will be a great summer relaxation. Looking forward to many hours of viewing as I am now subscribed
This is terrific! I purchased a book a few years ago that had floor plans for TV homes but nothing like what you have created. I always wondered how the sets were laid out on a soundstage in order to fit the space and be practical for filming. On a few shows you could see they repurpose the same set to be a school, a hospital room, etc. I especially like how they would place a large canvas with a street scene painted on it just outside a door or window with a couple of plants tossed in for realism. It looks really fake but it’s part of the charm of 60s shows. My vote is for the Patty Duke Show house. Thanks.

Marina- Great work here. You bring out several points of interest that I just never really noticed. Thanks for you work with these types of projects. I'd say I love them too, but it looks like that has already been taken by many others.

Marina, thank you so much for this! I have the entire series on DVD and run an episode every Sunday night. This show, and others from that period, are so much funnier than the “sophisticated” garbage being produced today. For some reason, producers think that lewd + crude = funny. This show proves that it doesn’t. One thing I noticed is that Lisa seemed to become more and more ditsy as time went on, especially after season 1. Maybe that’s what living in Hooterville will do to you-unless you’re Oliver Wendell Douglas. Every day while marveling at the absolute insanity that seems to be ruling this country, I channel Oliver when I grit my teeth and mutter, “Oh for the love of…!” It seems to make me feel better somehow. By the way, John Cato gave your channel a great plug in his video featuring his interview with Don Most. But you probably already know that. Thanks again!
I'd read where Green Acres had continuity issues. It was often the third in line for the 'rural trio' as Petticoat Junction, Beverley Hillbillies and GA were known back then. That included its budget. Most went to Oliver's salary. And, later, Lisa's as she got a major raise before season #4 (at the insistence of Albert).
So enjoyed this tour ! The design and floor plan of the house is really charming, I'm surprised no one has "borrowed" it to build homes today, I'd buy one. Reminds me a bit of Betty Jo and Steve's cottage from Petticoat Junction. Being from Charlottesville, let me direct you to a photo of "Monticello" taken around 1870 online. I've always described it as the original "Old Haney Place"
My favorite scene takes place in the first episode, when Oliver plants vegetables in pots on the patio. There were many scenes I enjoyed over the years, but the incongruency of planting regular vegetables on a Fifth Avenue terrace was hilarious. I would LOVE to see the Gilmore Girls homes, any of them!

The Home Alone House in North Suburban Winnettka Illinois is on market for $5.2million but the interior was renovated and is totally different than what people who have seen the movie more than once are familiar with
If you can squeeze in Jim Rockfords beach side house trailer home/ business office the TV detective series Rockford Files the Trailer seen a lot of action from thugs showing up at all hours dragging him out & beating him up the abuse his doors took was unbelievable plus there was a lot of action at Rocky’s house that is his Dad if your not familiar Joseph Rockford a retired Truck driver the private beech comunity at 29 Cove rd Malibu is always trying to evict him because of all the car chases Gunshots that happen at all hours of the day & night and most of the Car chase scenes were performed by James Garner himself as he was a professional racing driver in the grand prix circuit

Glad you liked it. 😊
Love it, of all the rural comedies, this one was the funniest. My favorite character was Hank Kimball.
I agree. It was the funniest of them.
I think the House looks Gorgeous.
Aw, shucks. Thank you!

I'll have to look into his work. I'm not familiar with it. You got me curious.

This was so fun, Marina! I love Green Acres, it’s such a Hoot! Thanks for another great tour. Always a pleasure!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the wonderful memories of this show. Such funny episodes. I love how you made the rooms come to life. You always do such perfect work, Marina. ❤
Thank you.
I loved this tour. As a pre-teen, I wondered why they bought so much furniture for this home. Now I know they brought it all with them from Park Avenue! Great, Marina!
Thanks. Glad you liked the tour.

I like the “after” door on the living room.
Glad you liked the tour, even though you weren't a big fan of the show. 😊
Nice!!! Back in the day they never imagined folks would have their own personal copies and could play the episodes over n over, fast forward, rewind, pause, print, etc. Also meet online with enthusiasts from all over the world and analyze every frame and dialog to find clues and inconsistencies.
So true!

I love watching all these homes !!!
Glad you found the channel.
I love this show and loved the tour - thank you. This show was so special because you could really tell that these characters - as well as the actors who portrayed them - really respected and loved one another...no matter what!
Yes. I've read the Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor in particular were close. Always carries over to the screen, doesn't it?

I like the “after” on the bedroom.
However I noticed in the 1990 movie Return to Green Acres, they made it match up better
I thought it was funny that even when the bedroom was under construction and it was just open to the outdoors, the exterior of the house still looked the same, in reality you would have been able to see the interior of the bedroom from the outside
I loved this show. Thank you for bringing it to life.
😊
I loved the living room wallpaper. 🥰
Me too. I think that's why the cleaned up version looked bland.

Brilliant and a trip down memory lane!
Glad you liked it.
Hi Marina!! Hope everything is great! Finally GREEN ACRES
Great work 💗🎼🎶
Thank you. 😊
You really did the house justice. It was such a good show and you really give insight to it. Another great job Marina. Would love to see you do The Nanny house.
Thank you.
Pancakes were cut with a coffeepot lid and coffee was cut with scissors
😆
Thanks for the info 🥰
I'm so glad to see you❤
Marina I know you have a degree in architecture but I believe you have a knack for some magic too. Outstanding gift you possess!
Thank you.
I'm enjoying the tour of the house on GREEN ACRES. In the bathroom, I always took it that the shower Oliver pointed out was actually the tank for the toilet.
Yes. Thanks. Others pointed that out, too. Somehow it went over my head. 😊

@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Before I forget, when you have time, can you do a video on young sheldon home?
Thanks for a great tour! This show was on mainly during my high school years and I considered myself a little too sophisticated for it. My dad, however, loved it so we always had to watch it. (I tried not to laugh!) But it drove me crazy that they never fixed that house up. And now did her clothes not get wet or full of bird poop what with no back wall on the closet? See? I was sophisticated! 🤣 Thanks for the great memories. (When I was teaching my kids to drive, I mentioned the pernendle more than once.)
I entered my comment before I finished watching.
Glad you liked it.
Wonderful!
I always look forward to your videos.
Thank you.
Glad you like them!
Some good thoughts there! I loved Lisa and Oliver's relationship. 😍

Welcome aboard! Have fun creating these in SIMS
So well done and thoughtful. Most appreciated!
Thank you kindly!
Thanks.
Sounds like you have a love for TV show homes, too. I'm glad you found the channel.

I certainly would prefer the "after" if I were to live there, but the "before" is more fun to look at as an observer. My vote for Golden Girl's house continues!
Yes. If I had to live there, I'd definitely prefer the after.

Another great job, Marina. I have to admit, this is one show I never thought you would do. Such a crazy, quirky show! That house was a delightful wreck!
Yes. A true wreck. It was fun to do. Reminded me of when I did The Munsters. I didn't need to worry about things looking perfect. In fact, the worse, the better. 😆
Thank you so much!
I always look forward to your videos. Thanks for your time and dedication😅
My pleasure. Glad you like them.
Marina- Great work here. You bring out several points of interest that I just never really noticed. Thanks for you work with these types of projects. I'd say I love them too, but it looks like that has already been taken by many others.
Thank you.
Your You TUBE videos are wonderful. Yet very profound!
Thank you! Glad you found the channel.
I remember watching Bing reruns as a kid. I used to worry about them living in such a broken down house.
I get it. I was always hoping they'd get to fix it up, even though I knew it would never happen.
I was born just before this show first aired so didnt watch it as a child. I don't remember it ever being available in re-runs in my area. I am familiar with it and its house so this is still a fun video to watch. I know you're supposed to suspend reality for tv and movies but who ever heard of a one bedroom farmhouse? lol
Haha. So true.
Another beautiful CG tour! I really enjoyed this, as well as all of the others. And since you asked ... ;-) I'd still like to see Barney Miller's 12th Precinct Squad Room done and maybe Barney and Liz's seldom seen apartment ... :-)
Watch "Green Acres" every night...can't get enough.....my favorite? Mr. Haney.....
I'm glad you found this tour then. Must feel so familiar to you.

Cool video, love Green Acres!
Thanks for sharing these thoughts. 😊
I'll have a look. Thanks.
I loved that, too. I just rewatched when making this tour.

Great presentation, Marina.
I always liked when a gag in an episode would be known to everyone except Oliver.
Fun fact: Hank Patterson (Mr. Ziffel) is a great uncle of actress Tea Leoni.
Lisa loved fixing hots cakes!
I never knew that. Thanks for that little tidbit.
Eddie Albert was in amazing episode of Columbo.
I didn't know that.
Awesome video, as always! Fawlty Towers would be a fun walkthrough, or the model home from Arrested Development!
AT last I get to see the Green Acres house as it actually would look like loved this show thanks again for a great job :-)
