Awesome! But a correction. Jerry did indeed have an oven under the stovetop as seen when Kramer heats his clothes in it, in the Calzone episode. Likely, the bottle of booze was in a small cabinet beside the oven.
Thanks for adding that information. I hadn't caught that scene. My best guess is it came and went when they needed it for a scene, because we can see a drawer directly under the cooktop. That doesn't leave enough room for an oven. According to other comments, it was referenced - but not seen when George put his head in an oven too.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Yes, season 6 episode 4, The Chinese Woman tells George his parents are getting divorced, so he puts his head in the oven.
I love how small Jerry's apartment is. It always drives me crazy when TV shows have a character who isn't supposed to be making very much money living in a 12,000 sq ft apartment in some major downtown area. Also, Jerry's living room is shockingly cramped with the 4th wall shown. I always thought of it as a welcoming large area, but with the table so close to the 4th wall it feels claustrophobic. I had never thought about how the 4th wall would change the apartment. Thanks for all your hard work!
Adding the 4th wall can make such a huge difference and for just the reason you said. When we are used to seeing it without the 4th wall, we picture it spacious. I don't know what my head pictures is there, but it's not a wall. 😂
I always thought he made a lot of money, but didn't spend much. He was playing himself, flying around the country doing stand-up dates. He had plenty of money.
Marina, you've done it again! One of my all time favorite shows and you broke down the appartment for us. First rate job as always! appreciate your work.
Yes to all four options you showed, for what would we like to see next. Also, Partridge Family. But, really, anything you want, I'll want to watch. Thank you for all your work and dedication!
This one was fun. I would love to see King of Queens. They so blatantly ignored the facade of the exterior of that house by having a window on each side of the front door on the set when the exterior shots have only one. As you've pointed out, as fans of a show, we ignore stuff like that because the show is so entertaining and the sets are so iconic.
I can't wait to get my hands on that one. Love that show. We call it, "Doug and Carrie" at our house. And yes, the outside is wildly off from the interior. Sometimes they show them out on a [non-existant] front porch. 😆
Usually I notice logical inconsistencies (such as with the Brady house), but I hadn't noticed all the logical inconsistencies of this apartment. Also, I hadn't noticed that the refrigerator isn't even cabinet depth, given that it features prominently in so many episodes. Thanks for the video!
Great research and insight! Every episode you picked as a sample was 100% known by us fans. The one thing I found intriguing, which meant nothing to me during the years the show aired, was all the framed pictures of cars in Jerry's apartment. Of course now we all know how the real Seinfeld loves cars so much he has an entire series about cars, comedians, and coffee
Same for me! As I was researching the apartment for this tour, I really noticed them for the first time. That's how I got my ideas for the art work on walls we didn't see. I looked up some of the cars he drove on, "Comedians getting Coffee" and used posters of those. That and he had a lot of old black and white photos of NYC iconic buildings.
“…When people think about one of us, they’ll think about all of us.” Best, most truest quote ever. I know it sounds weird, but I’ve always been intrigued by the location of the dining table behind the sofa. Something about its location seems cozy to me. And when it comes to small spaces, I’m all about creating “rooms within a room.” Loved this! Great work, Marina!
Yes. Thanks. I wish I had caught that. Others on here have mentioned the scene where George sticks his head in an unseen oven, but the oven is implied because we hear an oven door open. Yet, we see a drawer underneath the cook top and there wouldn't be enough room for an oven under that. My guess is that when they needed an oven for a scene, they acted as if one was there. It definitely makes sense to have one under the cook top. Most apartments would have one.

I was excited for this one. Once again, Marina, you've done an excellent job. I remember Jerry ordering chinese and other delivery fairly regularly. When not eating at Monk's, the Pakistani-American restaurant, Kenny Roger's Roasters or waiting for a table at the Chinese restaurant, Jerry would subside on cereal at home. I really enjoy your videos. It's such great fun seeing how these homes come together. Naturally, these are film sets--and the layouts attest to that. For example, no one in their right mind would have the sofa face the wall as it would if this were actually a real apartment. However, it's essential to position it that way on a film set since that's where the audience is. I always enjoy watching whatever you lay out for us, but if I get to cast a vote, I'll make another plug for the Murder, She Wrote House.
I stopped everything yesterday when this was posted. My favorite show and my favorite tour guide! As always, thank you! My son and i always analyze the sets. One set from our amateur perspective we always examine is "That 70's Show."

I've always pictured his headboard against the wall where you've put the double window in his bedroom, and then a window on the far wall away from the door, overlooking the street. I've also noticed recently, while watching reruns, that the simple hook next to his front door changed multiple times. Marina, I'm always surprised you're able to nail these down so well.

You did a great job showing us the apartment. That show was most unusual. I always sat on the fence whether I liked it or not. All the actors themselves were great, but their characters were so shallow. I always thought, grow up! Carol from California

Boy, do I enjoy these tours! I have lots of requests, but I'll limit it to just a handful for now: You could explore the Paul Henning universe ... Beverly Hillbillies mansion ... Shady Rest Hotel ... Sum Drucker's store - etc. Or how about a cartoon? (Ha!) Such as the Jetson's home. Or here's a curve ball for you: a layout of the "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" submarine! Thanks for all the hard work you put into these. Any update to the amusement park idea?
I've gotten The Jetsons partially started. Up next though I think I'm going to be doing Green Acres, so you may get part of that Henning world after all.
Wow! I've just started this wonderful video. How neat to see the overview diagrams and photos. Camera operators/directors must know geometry or something because on TV the apartment looks like the corners are 90% (normal). 💡Have you thought of doing Laverne & Shirley's first apartment? Thanks Marina!
I always found the placement of his speakers rather odd. I never realized until now that the only heat in that apartment came from that little nook and there was no air conditioning! lol
I agree about the speakers. I tried to get contact information on the Production Designer, but was unsuccessful. I would have had so many questions for him.
I've had quite a few requests for that home. I hope to get to it. I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: th-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
Fascinating! Thank you! Although it’s not a home I would love to see you tackle the station from WKRP. Regrettably I believe the show is unavailable to stream (music clearance 😡), so I imagine it would be impossible. 😢
I really enjoy your walk through tours, I asked this before some time ago is there any chance you could do Home Improvement both upstairs and downstairs and talk about the layout issues with that set. Home Improvement was a great show they too had the right formula and a great cast.
You did a great job on this one (well, all of them!) We laughed as hard watching your description of the scenes as we did watching the actual episodes. Please, please, please do the golden girls. And please explain the front exterior as well; I don't understand it based on indoor scenes.
Thank you. I love that it made you Crack up, just reliving the scenes. I plan on doing The Golden Girls. I already know the exterior simply cannot match up with what we are shown on the inside. I have a feeling it will be the TV home with the biggest inconsistencies.
This channel is my favorite I love Marina her craft is amazing I used to say what is taking so long for new videos now I see she’s giving us the best. 😄 I would love to see the good Times house that’s my mama’s house the Cosby show house the mamas family house. Well I can go on and on and on 🤣 because the reason why this channel makes me happy is because this is when we had real television and the homes are being shown from real television generation. my generation , no crappy reality shows

Great job again, and thanks for doing this one too. There is no episode named "The Coma". I think you're referring to a S3 episode called "The Suicide", which involves Jerry's neighbor being in a coma after attempting suicide.
"Ho-ly Cow!" Love the Easter eggs. It's interesting how often there's a TV against the 4th wall. If you're on a sitcom kick, it would be awesome to see Married with Children or That 70's Show (where they had the full 360 degree scenes in the basement).
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the suggestions. I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: th-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
Love seeing you deal with the inconsistencies of the layouts of these apartments or houses. I feel the only New York City TV condo unit that ever made any sense was Paul & Jamie Buckner’s in “Mad About You” (@ least in it’s original NBC’s 1990’s airing, inconsistencies there showed up in it’s brief revival back in 2018 in that strange add-on of their daughter’s bedroom). This is one of the reasons why I really want to see you get to a tour of Paul & Jamie Buckner’s condo unit soon.
I've always thought the bedroom window was on the wall where the nook window is, thus it would be on the wall where the headboard is. The bed would then be where you have the widow. In the episode where Kramer and Newman are playing Risk and Newman sneaks into Jerry's apartment, he climbs out the window and up the fire escape, which in the exterior shots is on the same side as the nook window. I find it frustrating that the exterior shots of most places, on TV and in movies, doesn't match the interior layout.
I haven't done that one yet. Thanks for the suggestion. I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: th-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
I’d love to see the mama’s family house. I know it changed externally and internally and a whole room even seems to vanish. I’d love to see what you do with it. I gave my own ideas, but love your work.

@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I also thought of Raymond's house from Everybody Loves Raymond, especially the episode where his mother Marie backed her car into the house
Jerry had an oven In the episode where George's Parents decide to get a divorce George opens the oven door and sticks his head inside. I think it was the one where Jerry dates a Chinese woman who turns out not to be Chinese Donna Chang or Chang-stein/ There was also a controversy about Kramer's window re: Kenny Rogers Roasters and the layout of the the apartments and how he is on one side of the building and Jerry is on the other yadda yadda yadda.....

How about Drew Carey's apartment and the Warsaw Tavern? Best feature of his apartment was that when you opened the bottomed-out drink cooler upstairs and the bartender will toss beer to you from downstairs, that and the outdoor pool table they played even in the rain. The building used for reference is a real bar in Cleveland called Murphy's Law, obviously not used for actual filming.
Marina, I love Seinfeld and love your research and attention to detail as always is outstanding. I get your rationale for the window placement in Jerry’s bedroom; HOWEVER if you notice the shadow from Jerry’s pillow I would guess that the window would have to be placed on the opposite wall-to the viewer’s left (Jerry’s right.). Just an observation. I Loved the Easter eggs…I only caught two: The time magazine and Jujyfruits box. I saw the pretzels but didn’t make the connection. Brilliant! Your background research gets more detailed each time!
Neat channel ❤. Maybe you should try a more modern TV show like The Office? Arrested Development? The study room in Community? Or maybe even something that is still on the air - the bar in Always Sunny? The house in What We Do in the Shadows? Or the home featured in Rick & Morty?
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Oh dope. Love that show. I live in NYC. Let me know if you want me to swing by the building used for exterior shots and grab some footage.

Windows on sets for tv shows seem to be in incongruous places often. In "Bosom Buddies" the window to the fire escape would actually be in the apartment next door.

You do such a great job with all your videos! I think doing the WKRP studios would be a great addition to your collection. Thanks!
Been waiting for this one. Great job as always. BTW s6 e4 The Chinese Woman, George puts his head in Jerry's oven located under the range top.
Thanks! Yes.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane You're right. There was never one there.
That layout makes sense.
Another Beautiful Presentation Marina :) The Safe Haven Feeling in the Inner Circle is My Fav 🥰I Became apart of Gang Indeed . Love to all of them & you Marina 💖Pray all are doing Well .& Thank u ... Suz
You are lucky indeed if you have a tight, safe friends group. 😊
Great video.
You did a great job showing us the apartment. That show was most unusual. I always sat on the fence whether I liked it or not. All the actors themselves were great, but their characters were so shallow. I always thought, grow up! Carol from California
It was definitely one of a kind.
Your passion is infectious! Keep it up!
Thanks. I love making these tours.

Another great job! Thank you! 😊
😊
Boy, do I enjoy these tours!
I have lots of requests, but I'll limit it to just a handful for now:
You could explore the Paul Henning universe ...
Yes. It's on my list.
I always found the placement of his speakers rather odd. I never realized until now that the only heat in that apartment came from that little nook and there was no air conditioning! lol
I agree about the speakers. I tried to get contact information on the Production Designer, but was unsuccessful. I would have had so many questions for him.
I love the house on Charmed. That would be an interesting one to see you do. All the stained glass and that kitchen was lovely.
I've had quite a few requests for that home. I hope to get to it.
I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: th-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
Omg! I am so excited to have found your channel! Love it!!
Yay! I'm glad you're having fun here.
I love your work. The apartment I would love you to do is Doris Day’s apartment in The Doris Day show.
Good suggestion. I love so many homes from her movies, too. She had "a type."
Please do the Keatons’ house from Family Ties!! Love your videos😊
Thank you. That home is on my list. 😊
Fascinating! Thank you! Although it’s not a home I would love to see you tackle the station from WKRP. Regrettably I believe the show is unavailable to stream (music clearance 😡), so I imagine it would be impossible. 😢
I've had so many people ask for that one. I didn't know it wasn't streaming anywhere. Bummer.
I loved 😍 the way Kramer 😂 came in 😂
Me too!
Marina, you're brilliant
Thank you!
I really enjoy your walk through tours, I asked this before some time ago is there any chance you could do Home Improvement both upstairs and downstairs and talk about the layout issues with that set. Home Improvement was a great show they too had the right formula and a great cast.
I loved that house and that show. I hope to get to it someday.
Thank you so much!@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane
I ❤❤❤ this show.. thank you
I'm glad you liked it! 😊
This channel is my favorite I love Marina her craft is amazing I used to say what is taking so long for new videos now I see she’s giving us the best. 😄 I would love to see the good Times house that’s my mama’s house the Cosby show house the mamas family house. Well I can go on and on and on 🤣 because the reason why this channel makes me happy is because this is when we had real television and the homes are being shown from real television generation. my generation , no crappy reality shows
😊 You made my day. And I sure wish these didn't take me so long. I have so many homes I want to do.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane you do them girl we will wait. That’s how much we love you.🥰🥰🥰🥰

Your videos are pure joy and you've inspired me to start paying attention to set layout and design. I always look forward to your next video!
I'm so glad! 😊

Yes I wish I could walk around in and outside the ‘Father Knows Best’ house.
Great job again, and thanks for doing this one too.
There is no episode named "The Coma". I think you're referring to a S3 episode called "The Suicide", which involves Jerry's neighbor being in a coma after attempting suicide.
Oh. Thanks for correcting that.
I would love to do that one someday.
The aerial shot of the Seinfeld Apartment reminds me of the Ricardo Apartment. A comparison would be interesting.
Interesting. I can see similarities.
I like this idea for the layout. 😊
Such great work Ms. Coates. I always enjoy your tours. Thank you.
Thank you!
7:15 Music is giving serious Local on the 8’s from the Weather Channel vibes. 😂 Loved the vid as usual!
😂
Do a tour of the Monkees Pad !!
I plan on it!
Not sure if it's been done already but would love to see Maxwell Smart's apartment from Get Smart.
I haven't done that one yet. Thanks for the suggestion.

@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane love watching all your videos especially the I dream of jeannie sets as that was my favourite show.
Oh yes Get Smart Apartment. That would be a great showing g
I’d love to see the mama’s family house. I know it changed externally and internally and a whole room even seems to vanish. I’d love to see what you do with it. I gave my own ideas, but love your work.
I plan on doing it someday. 😊
Another awesome tour, Marina!
Thank you!
Love the video! You really do your homework.
Wow, at first I didn't even remember the kitchen remodel, but now it seems vaguely familiar. Lol
Thanks for all your hard work, even though I'm certain you're enjoying every minute of it. 😊
Have a great week!
Thanks. And I am enjoying every minute of it. 😊
Thank you for creating this, Marina. I have the suggestion for the house from the ABC sitcom Family Matters, which I watched growing up as a kid.
Thanks for the suggestion. 😊
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I also thought of Raymond's house from Everybody Loves Raymond, especially the episode where his mother Marie backed her car into the house
@@blue387 You're in luck. I've already done that home.
I love this channel!
@@littleatwork Yay! Thank you. I'm glad you found it. 😊
Another good one. Dick and Laura Petrie's house is still my fave.
The Petrie's was the first hoke I did. What you see up on my channel now is a re-do. It's one of my favorites.
Excellent video. Fantastic work. Love it.
Thank you very much!
Yes. Thanks for adding that. Others have mentioned that too.It must have been one of those magical TV things that appears when needed, like the piano on All in the Family. 😊
You are KILLING continuity Jerry!

Not familiar with this show, but now I have a show to check out. Thanks
Good observation! And thank you.
Great and Entertaining content as always presented now and in the past. Thanks !!!!!
That's very nice. Thank you.
Neat channel ❤. Maybe you should try a more modern TV show like The Office? Arrested Development? The study room in Community? Or maybe even something that is still on the air - the bar in Always Sunny? The house in What We Do in the Shadows? Or the home featured in Rick & Morty?
Thanks for the suggestions. I do have some more recent shows in mind on my list now. "Only Murders in the Building," for one.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane
Oh dope. Love that show. I live in NYC. Let me know if you want me to swing by the building used for exterior shots and grab some footage.
@@Nothing_Israel Hmm. I may take you up on that. Thanks.
I’d love to see you do the house from Reba. The inside and outside always crack me up because they are clearly not even close with how the front door and porch are but it would be fun to see you create it.
Sounds like a fun one to tackle. Thanks for the suggestion.

Still hoping to see Will& Grace's apartment. It has a great nook too!
Good to see a video from you. Ha ha, I live in Manila and I don't have an oven either , except I do have a toaster oven.
Do you just get used to it after awhile? We lived in a home for 6 months without one. No toaster oven either. I got creative with a griddle and crackpot. But, boy I was glad when I had an oven again.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I am used to it now. I've never seen a kitchen over here with an oven. I'm an empty nester so I don't bake or cook big meals any more. Mostly broiling meat , steam vegetables or stir fry. I can't wait to go back to the states and have an oven.
Loved it!! I’d love to see the home from The Bernie Mac show.
I think that's the first time that obe has been suggested. Thank you.

Windows on sets for tv shows seem to be in incongruous places often. In "Bosom Buddies" the window to the fire escape would actually be in the apartment next door.
😆
Great job!!! Have you considered doing the show “the office”?
@@matthewclarks3613 Yes. I plan on it.
