zed's quest is much harder, he has to actually get the kills. Whereas shen only has to assist in zed's death a single time, which he can do by ulting someone who's about to kill zed too
@@ByzantineRefugee Shen does have to damage Zed, it can't just be a neutral takedown. But even still, just ult the adc Zed's trynna pop and land a taunt ezpz.

I'm pretty sure shen shielding someone and not damaging zed is not a takedown, just an assist (and yes, an assist can be a takedown but you have to have damaged him recently)
Also the video shows he can just oneshot someone next to shen, go away and then later oneshot someone next to shen anyway, it's not hard to pop an adc next to shen especially in the chaos of a teamfight, with zed hardly having to aim to kill an adc with just melee shadow Q and E and also serpent's fang is a thing that exists@@ByzantineRefugee

It'll be interesting to see where these go
For the ones in game currently, Kha and Rengar both benefit, tho it being lv 16 makes it a very late quest and its either a snowball or stalemate by then. Senna benefits from the quest while a standard support Thresh barely feels the impact. Jhin and Hwei is too new to properly judge yet. There's also the one for Cait/Vi vs Jinx and a few removed ones, but most were cosmetic anyways or had minor damage or gold buffs.

@@pvshka Similar quests used to be ingame in the first seasons as easter eggs (-1% damage taken from leona if your champion wears sunglasses / -1 hp for every ninja in the same team). They were not as significant as +30% passive shield as shen, but they will surely adjust them if they are unfair.

@@exalted7906zed passive gains about 25/20% more damage depending on level don’t shit on the change. Thankfully zed’s challenge is harder because the champion is more broken if he is strong compared to if shen is strong.
Thank god Riot is thinking of people who have to deal with Zed bullshits that sit and Q in lane until level 6 and then look for the greatest pussy play after 6. Then if given kills then becomes an asshole that is impossible to catch because ohh, I have all the ability haste in the world to W or R and W away every 5 seconds. Man everytime I see a Zed and thank Riot that Pantheon exists and I can actually damage Zed in lane and kill him post 6 and even if he has 120 ability haste. And also I can E his R if he ever wanted to go on me. Love it.

I am always a firm supporter of this kind of lore quests being in the game.
30% bonus shield from Shen's passive equals 34 + 4% bonus health shield with a 10 second cooldown. Let's say Shen built Heartsteel and the game went past 40 minutes so he has 4k bonus health. That equals 194 extra shield every 10 seconds. At that point of the game a 200 hp shield really isn't that overpowered and compared to Kha'zix evolving another skill, Rengar getting 11% bonus attack damage, Senna & Thresh both getting tons of stats etc. this can even be considered underwhelming imo.
TBF additional 2% on Zed's passive isn't crazy aswell

@@jdulin1565 considering the strength level of other Nemesis Quest rewards and how Zed and Shen players usually use their champions in the game I think buffing their ultimates would be much more appropriate. Like giving Zed's ult the old stealing ad mechanic that was removed a few years ago and for Shen reducing the time he needs to focus to teleport so he can reach his teammate faster.
I agree that is underwhelming. Irrelevant to go out of your way to focus on imo. Perhaps it can be changed
Imagining Zed gets 20% more slow from his E and Shen gets 0.5 seconds longer taunt would be more impactful
you seem to forget that shen can lower the cooldown of his passive down to 2.5 seconds when hitting an enemy with an ability or affecting an ally on level 18, which makes 200 extra shield points really good
Now we need a urgot vs Swain quest, a MF vs GP quest and... Actually, we need MANY more quests

this is really cool and adds some much needed spice to the game. I wonder if this might actually make picking certain champions into their counterparts more viable because of these bonuses.
This kind of quests was way better than before, in my time you only get a crown when you won 😆

For those who don't know it was the quest for the 3 freljordan Sisters, you get a crown who ever kills the other one once you reach max level.
I feel like this is a teaser and a big opening change to introduce us and other members in the league community to the up coming MMO theyre making, or at least for the possible announcments for the game, to help hype it up.
2% on his passive is actually a substantial benefit.
In comparison, he gains 2% per level milestone at level 7 and 17 respectively from 6%/8%/10%, so this essentially gives him a third level milestone for a sweet 12%.
as it should be, rengar/kha add something more to their kit, a 4th evolution and a stronger passive for rengar ( 25% bonus ad to 36% )

Nemesis quests are really cool if you follow the lore but this seems like a bit too much? I mean a 30% stronger shield and 2% bonus max hp dmg? Seems a bit too strong
yeah I think they want these to be an actual reward you can feel because how often will you see exactly those 2 champs exactly on opposite sides? It also adds motivation to actually do the quest and not ignore it if the reward is too little.

30% more shield sure is good but 2% more max health dmg is without a thought much weaker, it's not even true damage so in practice it's usually around half of that and that's only once per 10 seconds on single target...

It kinda cool when league have those small rivalry quests, or hidden buffas like leona paasive dealing less dmg to champions with sunglasses, or even rumble getting 1 ms towards allied tristana.

In wild rift, it works similarly like that in the video but its called "Nemesis Duel"
The requirements you need is each champion needs to be the same level in order to trigger it, if one individual won the battle, their skills are enhanced. Nemesis duel cannot be triggered again once either side won once. here are the list of champions that have the feature:
Kha'zix vs Rengar
Nasus vs Renekton
Ornn vs Volibear

I want to note that its anazing they made it not simply “kill that guy” instead playing fully into their champion kits with shen being a warden/tank to protect allies and zed being an assassin who doesn’t really go for the tank instead going for squishies.
Seeing as it's suppose to be a "protect the allies" kind of thing for Shen that his AOE field would grant his passive shield to allies within it.
So his W just turns allies inside it immortal vs some champs? seems balanced.
@@ViktorLoR_Mainu anything that is not a basic attack causes damage inside of Shen's field. Anyone that struggled against Shen's field will still struggle against it regardless. It just grants a bit more durability for allies, and usually you're only having 1 or 2 allies in it at a time anyways in a normal playout of a teamfight. Most times it's just Shen in the field because of his E sending him in.
It is wayyyy to impactful, these are meant to be some for fun lore related changes, not huge buffs based on some things that can occur randomly in a game
I think this adds some spice to the game, but buffs should be really unnoticeable, because players in rankeds will be distracted. They will be much more focused on not giving buff to the enemy than winning in teamfights or in some tactical situations. But those buffs makes really a diffrence in late game, when for example zed 2% makes big diffrence while full build

@@SAWYERFAN.1 Have you ever survived at low hp %? Well. Now considerar that 2% while also considering Collector. It is not THAT big, but it is a difference that does become important at full build.
I doubt teams will ever start playing around them. They are not big enough buffs, just a nice bonus to have while you focus on objectives and teamfights.
So for reference 2% means that his passive is 20% stronger at max level. Or 25% the earliest you can get it. t's not nothing.

Yes, Zed in the comics was humiliated and defeated by Shen. Shadow Magic is also a weaker version of spirit magic. Go to deep into the shadows and Nocturne will devour you.
That was however, previous lore, we have no idea what riot is going to do with it anymore now that they reset it with arcane
@@RawRaio Arcane changed a bit the lore around Piltover and Zaun, not all the regions, anyways, a do believe Shen is above Zed (even tho it is'nt necessarily for a lot), regardless, Shen did defeat Zed and proved to be his equal in agility and above him in strength so, there's that

@@Hinotoriz er, no no, he shared something that was said by Riot about making all the lore with less inconsistency as possible (including Arcane now being fully canon due to that same reason) and going forward everything that Riot put up is canon, and everything that was before also is canon, but LoR is the only thing that have the "this could be" and "this could be not" because well, LoR is full of many what ifs, but the lore we know from stories and so on it's canon (idk, Shen and Zed lore, Noxus invading, the reason of why Demacia exists and so on)

The Shen passive boost is much stronger than the Zed one imo. Sure, 2% max health damage extra in a burst combo is good, but you're realistically gonna apply it once per champion in a teamfight. Meanwhile Shen benefits from his shield almost every ability cast in late game, which means 30% extra every time is seriously gonna add up.
Imagine yuumis quest "you still picked this champ despite its bad winrate. Congrats, your champion transformed into a flashlight, fullfill your dreams". Yeah, i misspelled flashlight (also here)

It's weird how new quests seem PRETTY DAMM OP. like previous ones gaves you like 1% ad or dmg. now they give your ult 3 seconds longer active time(Nasus which is op because 4 extra qs)
shen's passive gives 101 shield (before health bonus percentage) at max level so with this buff it will be 131 not a big deal
I love how Zed HAS to assasinate two allies but not eliminate Shen, implying that Shen is leagues above Zed's capability

In the lore Shen could 100% take down Zed - This is heavily implied as Him and Akali are constantly at odds with each other to the point she left his order. This is because Akali wants Zed dead and would constantly try to persuade Shen but he is more focused on his duties.
When you think about it it's actually kinda ironic that this is actually the same reason Zed became who he is and what he has done up until now as Zed wanted Shen to kill Jhin but again he was focused on his duties.
I love that it isnt another " x kills y " or " y kills x " kinda quest

This one actually gives a big advantage, which has a certain problem because Shen's quest is way easier

2% additional max health is complete dogshit compared to the 30% shen shield
It's 30% *_stronger_* shield. So if the shield scales off of 5% of Shen's max HP, then the quest bonus takes it from 5% to 8%. For reference, a 5% max HP shield scaling off of 8k HP grants 400 HP. An 8% max HP shield scaling off of 8k HP grants 640 HP. And that's if Shen has 8 *_thousand_* health, which he won't. So in reality, the shield values are gonna be much lower. No one is gonna notice the additional shield strength, I promise you.

Love it but I feel like it could be slightly unfair on Zed’s side, as if the team mates get too low they can just run out of Shen’s range so that the kill won’t count towards this side quest. Just a thought 🤷♂️
Vandiril, There's this bug on the Arena where GP has infinite barrels when hitting the plant and it's been there since the soul fighter arena until the current arena. I don't know how it works though because sometimes It works sometimes it doesn't so maybe there is some sort of criteria for it to happen.
Kind of like that these rewards are actually impactful now
Lmao the way the win con was coded for the side quest means contrary to what the description tells you, if Shen never get close and attempt to help to any of his teammates in a fight against zed, he will never be able to complete this quest, he’s protecting everyone by protecting no one

I'm guessing this quest is a little different from the usual "haha battle to the death" just cuz Shen hard counters Zed by their classes. (Tank vs assassin). whereas Renekton and Nasus are both bruisers and Kha+Rengar are both assassins. It is good to know that to fulfill Zed's quest, you don't have to kill 2 people around shen under a time limit. I was very confused for a second on the requirements but this is somewhat ok
There is also Belveth vs Jax and its about who does Baron first. Its really cool

Is riot going to do this with dragons too? Like with infernal rift, brand does more damage or with ocean rift, zyra plants get +1 HP.

Zed is overpowered in this matchup, i mean there is no sense in Shen without shields. It is like playing on Lethal tempo Lulu
I love the lore related quests, they are a very fun idea but I'm worried that if the buff is too good, or even a little less than that it might translates to: "Don't pick Shen against a Zed". And then the quest never sees the light of day.
In my experience shen is heavily favored in the zed matchup over all. If you see zed randomly disappear on the minimap, during level 6 laning, just press r on the midlaner.
You build so much armor that unless he gets giga fed you beat him one on one.
By that same token, zed is much more mobile than shen over all. So zed can hunt down shen's teammates while ult is on cd. and can keep away from shen very easily.
Thats why zed needs to kill two. Bursting one is fine, but he needs to kill two while shen is near, a neat little reference to kennen and akali.@raynalldoprime

Idk i'm not super fond of these. Khaxiz vs Rengar rarely ever happened in-game anyway because no one plays Rengar except in high elo and the games never go to 35 minutes, but it was this super cool and unique thing that isn't really cool and unique anymore.
