League of Legends esports has now existed for well over a decade and has provided many gamers the opportunity to have a career from gaming. However, like all competitions, these esports tournaments have their own rules and sometimes, players simply forget the rules.
From picking the wrong items, forgetting to take smite, everyone makes mistakes. But often times making these mistakes in a professional tournament could lead to suspensions and fines.
Today we look into those mistakes.

Don't blame them. Its the same with all game companies. I play mtg arena and a few months ago, after an update, a huge bugg was found. Probably one of the worst game-altering buggs I've seen in a competitive online game. A certain cheap equipment in the game, thats supposed to only do 3 dmg to the opponent, suddenly started doing infinite damage and one-shoting people out of nowhere. The game company WoTC instead of actually fixing the bug, decided that they'd rather ban the hundreds of players who happened to abuse it, which is crazy to me.
You have to understand that a lot of those players have sunk thousands of hours and a lot of money into the game. Yet they'd now lose their accounts for a bugg a lot of them only tried out for fun.

There is a rule in the riot playbook that does not allow ryze to run waterwalking in pro play. Reason is, there was a bug where him getting ap resulted in him getting mana and mana resulting in him getting ap. That infinite loop caused him to gain power and essentially be vastly stronger because the code was not limited to a single loop. The funniest thing about Vaevictus is that all of the girls were, in fact, sup mains. If you went to their stats back in the day, they were all playing support. They were also a team made at the last second including Plat players because the brand had the spot in the tournament but didn't have the players for the team itself, so they made an "all female" team with whoever was up for grabs - which is in fact quite disrespectful to the other pro players who take that as their career.
Since the team didn't know what to ban against them, as none of the girls had any prior pro experience or had ever met them in SoloQ, they just looked up their mains and banned them. It was literally their only valid strategy and they got punished for it.

    • @torrxknight2064
      @torrxknight2064 ปีที่แล้ว +300

That makes so much sense. "Noooo, you can't cripple the other team's ability to play by banning their mains!!" If you have a game with well over 100 champions, you can't have a good excuse to only main 1 or 2. What would you do if they ban them all? Lose? They exposed a weakness the other team had and wanted to use it to its fullest. They were there to WIN, not to "give them a fighting chance", which is sorta sexist to assume the all female team is incapable of winning or greatly hindered by a 5 support ban. They were playing with pros, and pros overcome challenges and adapt, which I guess Riot assumed the females were not capable of. Thanks for putting the story in the comments!

Sometimes it is totally justified to go and straight-up ban five supports, because someone like Omniknight, Ancient Apparition or Earthshaker can be absolutely devastating against some strategies. Just in general, through the past years, role of the support heroes grew to the point that teams without conventional cores can win the game easily, if they would play their cards right. I mean, iirc TI9 was won by Wisp-carry (normally a full-support hero, with basically zero offencive capabilities). Naw, i played back than, and what you are saying is only half true. Supports were good but not good enough to do what they did.
This was simply them trolling and goofing off while wasting bans for the lols. That being said, there is literally nothing against doing that, and if anything that type of behavior should be encouraged. It makes stories, and frankly I stopped watching esports, for good stories simply don't exist anymore.
Like how epic would it be, if you did 5 target bans towards one player saying "this is all you got and your useless without it" just for that same team to get a revenge win and stomp. Or lets say they lose, but train hard and come back ten matches later and crush the people who called them trash.
In sports you need good stories. So making a rule that you can't trash talk the enemy team through the form of target banning, or skipping bans is stupid. I know it's not the WWE and riot wants to encourage sportsmanship, but you should simply let the natural personalities exist. Other wise you kill narratives.

Basically if the shoe fits or if the crime fits the bill. They may have made a simple mistake, but that doesn't mean they should be treated as if they broke the law and got fined in a court of law.
After seeing several incidents of companies abusing players of their being instances of unfair online rules or ridiculous punishments over simple mistakes or no justifiable reason at all, even some users being allowed to get away with causing trouble, i need to say gaming communities and companies should not be allowed to make their own rules at this point. It's becoming too chaotic and there needs to be a proper order to ensure that no one gets treated unfairly and proper justice is served. They all should be forced to follow a universal set of rules that guarantees fairness for both sides without bias no matter the company or online setting. If the player breaks a rule, then they are fairly punished, but if the company breaks a rule, they run the risk being blacklisted internationally, ex. product distribution suspended for a specified amount of time.

This all goes to show it's about time to remake the game from the ground up, or even using Wild Rift as a base, but I do understand they are only motivated by money and that won't happen cause it's an invesment they don't see a profit on, maybe when the game is dying they'll do it as a last effort ditch, tho I hope it's too late and the game just dies for good then.

So please go get a grip of the topic before saying something as nonsensical as "the people running and have direct access to the server have no ability to inject values into it" like come the fuck on bruh.
So, yes they can manipulate the values mid game if they wanted to, fixing a bug is not the same as adding gold to someone's gold count thats connected to the server, fixing a bug requires you to actually write game changing code, not typing in a match adjusting string of text that the server recognizes as a command to do something, especially in a case like this where the pros are on their very own dedicated server that is literally being hosted within walking distance of the PC they play on. Not to even mention, when you see the hosts PAUSE the game, that alone tells you they have the ability to issue commands to the server when they want, as they are NOT some 11th player connected to the server, they are the host and can tell the server to issue a pause like you see in this very video, just like when you're in practice tool giving yourself gold, thats literally you just issuing a command to the practice tool sever you are connected to to give you gold.
Even if what you said is true, which it isnt, all that would mean is that RIOT games are the most incompetent developer and professional tournament hosts to date as they lack the ability to issue command to a server they are monitoring and have full access to.

Toxic players should get a 3 strikes structure that considers attitude pattern. With no previous pattern of toxicity, 1st strike = 1 match suspension, 2nd = 1 month, 3rd = banned. With a previously established pattern of toxicity, the ban should be immediate because the fact that the toxic behavior wasn't previously detected doesn't diminish its gravity whatsoever and does not make it an endorsement of the behavior. Allowing people to get a day break to calm down is one thing, but with a preexisting pattern, the 1 day isn't gonna change anything since its not a matter of exceptional stress, it's a pattern.
I miss the days of the Summoner's Code, now its the marketability's code...

cringe, talk like a real person and go outside and touch grass. secondly, trashtalking is fine, but trashtalking solely because they are girls, is not.

As a female I'm always cringing hard when I see an "all-female" e-sport team. I can't help to think that they only exist as a team just to make a point about their gender and it pisses me off. When I see a team of dudes, I know for sure that them being all guys is just coincidental. At no point did they think about their gender as a relevant thing to be considered in the making of their team. Yet with these all-female team I know that some people at some point had a discussion about "girls in gaming" in the process of making the team. I would stop cringing the day I see a female team as an organic thing being coincidentally made without any ideological bs attached to it.

punishing a team for properly using a game mechanic is crazy, Ubisoft never punished anybody when damn near everyone was banning jager against team empire bc joystick was one of the best fraggers in the world and preferred him💀

Imagine a game so bad that only 5 support characters exist in a pool of 163. Oh wait.

Notice how when your team fits a certain demographic, everyone is all of the sudden sensitive to some imaginary slight against them.
