Yo I remember that song being talked amongst my group of friends when we first got into dubstep back in 2017. Before then we were into the mainstream edm music. That song really shaped my taste in music tbh

The first time I heard “riddim” was someone describing boogie t’s music in 2016. I was hooked, even though he’s different from what I began finding, like AD and Akira and Yuki and Infekt. Been obsessed ever since. Great mix!

Aweminus' Thot Eliminated is probably my first ever Riddim song I ever heard, I wasn't into Riddim at that time, I started to get into Riddim more during late-2019 and then 2020 moving forward

I remember the time when only a few djs where able to chop Riddim during sets and the whole crowd was like "wtfffthat boi is killing it"
Over all I think 2015 was the apex of riddim imo. After that things started to sound over produced. By 2017 less of the old heads were producing as much and overall the quality of newer artists went down. That being said I've heard some of my favorite riddim tracks in the later years. Some other great artist that I think easily belong on the list would be A3, The Aliens, Audiak, Blankface, D2, Jakes, Jura, Kromestar, Nam7, Requake, Vodex, Vylex.

unlike a lot of people i actually prefer newer stuff from 2017 to 2019 because they sound so much more full and the production is so much better keep in mind this is my opinion not a fact
Because originality. Producers in 2013 - 2017 where much more original.. Today all producers pretty much sound the same.

@@Optimustep I kinda can't agree with that. Yes ... a lot of producers sound the same. I am not listening to them anyways who do. But the variety of sounds nowadays is way bigger than back then. Now you have Chibs, Infekt, Aweminus, voyd/Svdden Death, Emilian Wonk, Monxx ... they all have a really unique sound and top production. I think with so many producers nowadays they try even harder to have their unique sound as well as flow.
I’d say it’s became more commercialized and not as much variation as the year 2016 and before

That's why i love so much riddim, every year of his existence, there is a major shift in the style, by Just à track or à new artist, like Just "blockz", or Infekt or Even yasuo, this was something never expérienced on any style anywhere, its constantly evolving, Even today the major shift in 2020 is the polyriddim and so on !
Riddim will never die
As someone who primarily sticks to things like brostep, I can really hear a shift in the sounds in the scene around the time when Phiso first came into the mix, especially after Jotaro. I think there's just something that fundamentally changed after that track dropped. I've seen a couple of other people mention a changing of the guard, and I think that's part of it, maybe Phiso -- and Jotaro specifically -- was just the inflection point.
