Hi Gina, been following you since I am saving up for my dream piccolo. It has been a real education since 1980s when I played in high school and college. I have a Yamaha 3O which was a gift, and the sound is quiet piercing. This is a beautiful sounding piccolo so I totally get why it's your dream piccolo. You have totally inspired me to start practicing again. I have arthritis and have heard about vertical flute head joints. Perhaps you could do a review on them. I can not longer finger a flute and this may help. Although, I am a piccoloist at heart. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your story with me Darcy! Yeah, there's definitely nothing worse than playing on a shrill piccolo (which I have definitely done in the past!). I hope that you find a piccolo that you love. I'm so sorry to hear about your arthritis. I have heard that the verticle headjoints are really helpful. I'll have to see if FCNY has one to try for you!
Thank you! I'm keeping it as a backup! I ended up doing that with my last flute that I got and you'd be surprised how many times I've used my backup...
@@GinaLuciani I apologize I thought that since you represent the New York Flute Company that you were from there. My bad. Were you born and raised in LA?
Betsy Ross No she’s originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. She moved to LA to become a session musician and she studied with Jim Walker (first at Colburn where she did her undergrad and then at USC where she did her masters)
Woooow you sound so good with that gorgeous piccolo!! Can definitely see why the high price was ultimately worth it
Thank you so much! I definitely think it was worth the $$$
I can feel it resound in the more dark areas of my brain, it's gorgeous
Oooh wow! Your sound on this piccolo is much nicer than on the old one. I love it. Great video!
Its so expensive though, you can buy a car for that cost.

You sound amazing on that piccolo!
Thank you! I love playing it!
Vid request: vibrato and how to adjust its speed or fluctuation
I'm buying a second-hand Miguel Arista head joint with my new Flute.
A different head joint can make so much difference. 👍❤️
So true! That's amazing :)
Great video! What'd you do with your old piccolo?

Did you not want the multi-trill option? I've seen it on their website, but haven't seen one in the wild quite yet.
What I heard is it's not really made with that option anymore :( otherwise I would have definitely chosen one with that option!
Review the pearl bass with the b-footjoint
Sounds great!
Can you do a review on the gemienhardt 2BLK
What's it like living in New York?
I actually live in Los Angeles - and I love it! I want to get to New York better though... only have been there on a couple quick work trips
@@GinaLuciani Hoping you get here to NYC ASAP. You NEED to be back here and do a special master class at the Flute Center of NY.

Lol that’s just £7000 that I can’t afford 😂
Totally get that! I had to save for a long time to get this piccolo. I have a bunch of other videos of more affordable piccolos if you're interested!
Gina Luciani thanks so much ! I really appreciate the reply 😁😁
